Did they announce the location of the next Botcon at the end of the conference, like they did last year in Orlando?

This is a question I would also like to know.. I figured they would have. It might be in a new location ( not orlando) since they basically went back and forth for a few years. The midwest might be geting a botcon( san antonio is nice this time of year :APPLAUSE: )

just please not in new york :P

Nope, Hawaii.

Better to inconvenience everyone equally (except Hawaiians of course, but they're a minority.)

I know it won't happen, but it'd be nice to have a Botcon in New Orleans! ...Or at least somewhere closer (Orlando doesn't count because it takes like 8-10 hours to get there from here!). :BOOM:

I vote Chicago...driving distance from me and I could stay with family. Or Minneapolis so I would only have to drive 20 minutes to get downtown.

I vote Denver.

Either that, or somewhere centrally located like St. Louis or Kansas City.

Totally in agreement with you there, MF!

They did not announce the location of the 2012 BotCon at the Hall of Fame ceremony, so I imagine they'll announce their plans at a later time.

I could probably house a few of you during Botcon if it came to Phoenix. It needs to be announced here first though.

I'm not picky,as long as the botcon convention is within a 3 hour drive,i'll be happy & attend.

hopefully botcon 2012 is near the following states: Pennyslvannia,New jersey,Manhattan & it's 5 boroughs,delaware.

i'd second that vote! they should have it somewhere nice where people would want to go anyway. that way people can stay a few extra days in some real vacation! i've always wanted a great excuse to go to Hawaii and what better excuse than Optimus Prime.

New York would be nice because it's fun and San Francisco would be great because i live in it.

They already did Beast Wars in 2006.

And how would they pull that off, pre tell? :)

If you ask me, it's gonna be something relating to the Generations and Reveal the Shield lines. Don't ask me what, so far we've had:

2005: a random story
2006: the prelude to Beast Wars
2007: Classics
2008: Shattered Glass
2009: Wings of Honor, the era before the Great War retold
2010: Generation 2 retold
2011: Animated

I'm thinking Shattered Glass is going to get revisited, but I'm holding out for Diaclone.

It would require the Maximals to keep vehicle modes(thus allowing Cheetor to be shoe-horned in) instead of animal modes, but there's enough animals to cover some Preds:

Grimlock with a head resculpt for Megs
Swoop as Terrorsaur
Remold of Blackarachnia as Tarantulas

Sentinel Prime with head resculpt as Primal(cause he's a truck, not a monkey ;) )
Voyager Bulkhead with head reculpt as Rhinox

There was more, but without our notes from Botcon, I forget the rest.

IMHO,Hasbro never sold the Diaclone nor microchange colored TF toys in America. only takara sold them in Japan.

IMHO,I don't think Hasbro would allow fun pub & the botcon crew to celebrate the Diaclone/microchange theme at botcon's convention. because hasbro never sold these diaclone characters/color schemes around the world.

IMHO,I don't think hasbro would want fun pub/botcon crew to celebrate brave nor the 1980's gobot characters/colors. as hasbro never sold this stuff in america during the 1980's & 1990's.

Yeah I'd love to see a brave dino-geist repaint with new head using either the 2005 ultra sized scourge mold or 2001 rid voyager megatron mold.

I'd also love to see a renegdaes gobots Cykill botcon toy using either the animated oil-slick mold or the RTS Wreckgar toy mold.

Diakron and Kronoform were direct US releases of Diaclone toys, sold by Takara. The releases included a black Ironhide and a red Sunstreaker.

See my above answer. True, they were US-only, but Hasbro has close ties with TakaraTomy.

Then explain BotCon Bug Bite, Movie Fracture, and RotF Deadlift to me. It's perfectly legal, since Hasbro acquired Tonka and with it, the Gobot franchise, but not the molds.

Also, Hasbro can use Takara characters for their releases. Case in point: Sunstorm.

But those were RUMORED to be sold by takara before they put the hasbro contact into place. even though takara had e'm on the shelf with thev hasbro versions. these were most likely takara over stock or stuff the stores still had on shelves because they didn't sell out faster enough.

Yeah but that's only celebrating one figure. to actually go the extra mile & celebrate the whole entire 1980's Go-bot theme. by having all the botcon convention toys being renegades & guardian gobots would not be in hasbro best interest to advertise & promote Bandai's 1980's go-bots toy line. I just don't see hasbro agreeing to make fun pub do this.

but hasbro never sold them around the world. so to celebrate something you never sold isn't something I see hasbro allowing fun pub to do

At best if takara ever sponsors a fan convention in Japan. I can see this idea working over their. with repainting classics/generations/rts molds in diaclone/microchange colors.

Didn't hasbro create the "sunstorm" name For their Media fiction?
