My favorite memory has to be the christening of Hot Rod as Rodimus Prime. Too bad it was ruined in the following season of TF. He has been and always will be my favorite Autobot.

I remember when I first discovered Transformers after my friend pushed me into it...
With the intention of buying something, I went into the Transformers aisle at Toys R Us. I remember being overwhelmed by the wall of the myriad of Transformers there, and there I knew Transformers was something great. I wanted something good to start out with, but I couldn't decide. There were Armada toys I didn't have, the new Energon line, the G1 stuff...
There was Rodimus, Omega Supreme, an exclusive Optimus/Megatron pack, the larger sized Optimus Prime and Megatron, Galvatron even...
but realizing the Super class Optimus and Megatron came as a value pack, I couldn't pass it up. I didn't regret it either. I loved those toys to death. I still do, as a matter of fact.

My favorite memory is when the toy line was launched in the U.S. GoBots had already been out for a number of months ahead of time, and my friends thought they were cool, but when Transformers followed, they blew everyone's minds. Whereas Gobots had fairly standard transformations, Transformers were far more complex, challenging, and detailed. When the comic book and show came out, it cemented it all for me. I still have all of my original toys and figures.

My favorite memory is from my childhoold being an original Generation 1 who has been with transformers for over 25 years I have lots of them.

But my favorite memory is seeing the 1980's animated movie in the theater well drive through back in those days.

Seeing Optimus Prime die on the Big screen was emotional and it was totally un-expected especially back then.

One of the few moments in Transformers I actually cried.

But of course I was just a littly guy back then so it is understandable.

Then my other memories are collecting transformers when I was younger having many transformers from Sixshot, Omega Supreme and all the others.

Then when Transformers Generation 1 was finally released on DVD when Rhino 1st done it was also a good memory which I still have and own those.

Being with transformers as long as I have it is hard to pick just one memory especially from my childhood or to present day cause Transformers is still as awesome as it was 25 years ago.

To many memmories to choose from but my favorite one and most memorable is seeing the Animated movie when I was a little kid.

My greatest TF memory was when I was 6, and my mom bought me a vhs tape, and it came with a toy... My first Transformer, Powerglide, and on that tape was 'More Than Meets the Eye"... no commercials, just the first episode(s) of Transformers... and that started my infatuation with Transformers... hence me, visiting this site almost everyday, and the hole in my wallet...

oh Wow...My fondst memory huh... I quess it would have to be when I bought my very first transformer. Can you believe it was Brawn? I played with it so much that my mom had to get me another. That's when she brought me home Sideswipe. From then on I was hooked. No matter what store we went to, I would cry until she took me to the toy section so I could see if they had any in that I could add to my collection. Now I have over 300 Transformers ranging from Gen 1 to the latest series. Wow, sometimes I wish I could go back to those days...and buy every Gen 1 I could find!

My most memorable Transformers moment? Well, maybe this is more about a person but it is still my most memorable. Back in the mid 80's my cousin and best friend, would always buy TFs with me. We would save our allowance and beg our parents to take us to buy new TFs together so we could achieve a more vast collection. I remember when we had enough to buy a Dinobot. I bought Swoop and he got Grimlock. I had Bumblebee and he had Cliffjumper. So on and so forth. We did this so together we could have a better combined collection and it worked for us.
Then the day came when I had to receive the news about my cousin and best friend. My mom sat me down and explained that he was with another family friend and there was a car accident. To make a long story short, Eric didn't make it.
I short time had passed and aunt Karen came to the house one day and talked quietly to my mom. After a few minutes she came to me with a box and handed it to me. It was Eric's Transformers. She told me that she knew I would take care of them and it would be a good way for me to keep that memory of him. I cried my eyes out.
That box is still safely stowed away and it will never leave my possession until it is my time for me to go as well, then will be passed to my son.

R.I.P. Eric. I miss you, bro.

I was in 10th or 11th grade in high school when Transformers originally premiered in the US. I wasn't a huge fan of the TV show or comic, but I loved the toys. The movie, however, was very impressive. So I'd say my favorite childhood memory for Transformers was going to see TFTM by myself at at theater during its original theatrical run, and seeing a couple of the few other families in attendance get up and leave at the instances of 'profanity' or extreme violence in the film. (Of course, they had VERY SMALL children with them, and apparently didn't notice the PG rating for the film.) Now I share Transformers with my children - who love it, and have their own childhood memories of Transformers stretching from G1 to the (shudder) BayFormers.

I never had a lot of the toys when I was young, but I loved watching the original series whenever it was on. My best memory of TFs is when I bought a Sixshot at a yard sale for something like a $1. It was mixed in with a bunch of other small toys and the people just wanted to get rid of that stuff.

Like most of my toys I lost it somewhere. :-(

One of my favorite childhood memories concerning the Transformers was Marvel's Transformers #3, where they teamed up with Spider-Man. Spider-man was pretty much one of my other favorite things growing up (still is actually ;)), so seeing the two together made me a very happy kid.

Hello, my English is not perfect but I'll do my best. One of my favorite memories of the Transformers from my childhood was when the cartoon was broadcast for the first time in Panama, I was watching the intro of the episode and the music just fascinated me, every time I heard it was like if I teleport into the cartoon into the transformers universe to start a new adventure with them and encourage me, something that still happens whenever I hear it in my mp3 player. Also, seeing that the story was about extraterrestrial robots that could transform into things of the real life, was something fascinating and new to me, the designs of the robots were excellent and each one had its own personality, from that moment I was hooked with the franchise, Transformers became like an alternate and fantasy world for me, I kept thinking about them when I was in school, school bus, at church, at home, in the car of my dad, thought letters like what if my uncle's stereo becomes Soundwave or Soundblaster? What would happen if the planes in the sky suddenly turn into Starscream or an Aerialbot? What if my father's car is a Transformer? Would it be an Autobot (Jazz, Wheeljack, Tracks, etc.)? Will it be my friend? Would he let me drive it? ¿Would Fight the Decepticons together? etc. (I still have hope, jajaja). Optimus Prime was a great leader to me, it was like my second father and I wanted to be like him when I grew up, so must of the time that I had to make a decision, I took based on what would Optimus do in that situation. I think they are more than one memory and I have many others, but just wanted to show the impact that the Transformers have had in my life and how important it is for me until today, after 25 years of the first encounter with the Transformers.

it is impossible to narrow my scope to one instance so instead i'll tell you what happens when someone says the word "transformer." I am reminded of the fact that for the first 22 years of my life i fought an uphill battle. as a child i suffered from severe asthma and my home life, such as it was, consisted of bitter arguments and fights between my parents. i inevitablly got drawn into these time after time. until horribly, disgustingly, i had to choose one or the other amidst a bitter divorce. i even have a video of one of my birthdays which largely consists of an argument. watching my face as a child as this happened on the video i am forced to wonder how i avoided turning into a psycopath. the answer is twofold. first my father, when not arguing, did take the time to be a great mentor of life and sacrifice much to ensure i had as good a life as possible. second, that's right, transformers! they have always been something good to turn to. I couldnt engage in physical activities without risking an asthmatic attack so i engaged in mental acitivies imagining and dreaming of the transformers universe. Optimus prime, as a character, is the utltimate representation of virtuosity. no human could ever be as good and true as optimus but thats the point. he is a goal that i, or anyone, must constantly better themselves, as a person, to attempt to reach. my father tought me how to be the best a man can be, optimus tought me the very definition of right, truth, and freedom, and transformers, as a whole, were the one good thing that was there when i couldnt move due to shortness of breath, when i lay in bed listing to screaming and yelling, and every other time life beat me down, they kept me sane. now, of course, they share that task with my girlfriend, who i knew was the one when she didnt leave me when she realized i had 1, 122 transformers! and, i guess, because shes a great person and beautiful and all that jazz (my second favorite tf). kidding. shes the best!

My favorite memory was my father coming home from work and bringing me a Generation 1 Megatron figure. He helped me tak it out of the box and showed me how to transform it. He told me that I could not bring it outside due to the realism of his alt mode. After playing with that figure through the years, the arms started to break off of it. We attempted to fix it but he never went back the same way. Several years ago when the re-issues came out, my father suprised me again by ordering the Japenese figure. he knew how much I loved that figure and wanted me to have it again. I still have my original Megatron and now I have a pretty prestine Megs in box. Ever since then, I was addicted to the robots in disguise.

Mine is going to see the first movie, one summer, in a theater in New York (I still live in Maryland). I was  riveted to the edge of my seat at the start, and was  bawling when we left. I still remember Shockwave's death scene, even though I can't find it. I know this, because I remember saying, "Well, there goes Shockwave," when the beam (this is where I'm sketchy) beaned or impaled him, fell off his platform, and an explosion erupted from the bottom of the screen.

As much as I remember every single TF I got for a birthday or Christmas (including all the Terrorcons I was missing in 1990, thanks to a D&C where time had apparently stood still for 3 years), and as euphoric as I was after seeing Transformers The Movie in the theater surprised the "s#!t" out of me (Optimus's death just made him an even greater leader as a memory to inspire future Autobots), what I've been most nostalgic for lately is the early days when TFs were just the strongest contenders in a sea of robot toys in the mid-80s. My mom would occasionally bring home a small carded one (I remember her buying me Cosmos because she said his bio was funny), though one of those Buddy L Bug Bots was just as likely, and almost as cool. When I was shopping with her, I naturally made sure that any toy she bought me was a TF, and I remember getting Warpath, Frenzy and Laserbeak, most of the Protectobots, Wideload, Battletrap, and Blot while out with her. Having most of the Mini-vehicles was cool because it gave Devastator opponents to really tower over without forced-perspective.

But the greatest trip was in the summer of '88. In some department store I saw Quickmix, and was surprised that he was small enough to be carded, as the only other -master figure I had was Skullcruncher. I guess I successfully argued that it made him a good bargain, because in addition to getting him, in a Toys'R'Us that same trip, I talked her into buying these weird new cassettes. Soundwave has always been my fav from the cartoon, so I was always frustrated that I couldn't find him or Blaster. Even without them to interact with though, the cassettes were probably my favorite part of G1, epitomizing my ideal of cramming complexity into the smallest, simplest design. 1988 was a good year for that with the Triggerbots/-cons, but I'd never heard of these red and blue cassettes that became vehicles(?!) and actually COMBINED! Slamdance became my favorite TF toy of all time; I know the bios say that Grandslam's arsenal is just defensive, and he and Raindance were mostly reporters, but Slamdance just looked so badass amongst the minibots, Throttlebots, and other cassettes, that his appearance spoke of being an under-appreciated Autobot warrior, able to waste cons 3 times his size. His archenemies Squalktalk and Beast Box soon followed and made worthy opponents, though Squalkbox looked like a robotic basketball player. The cartoon may have been gone, but 1988's awesome line made it seem like TF would just go on forever.

Then came 1989's line up, in which all TFs were either a little TOO tiny (though I still ended up with over half of all the Micromasters), or saddled with the clunkiest gimmick spawned the previous year. I knew the line was in trouble, and my optimism soon gave way to knowing that being a Transfan in the '90s would be about struggling to keep their memory alive. '91 was a pretty good Christmas though, what with my dog having puppies, a family friend giving me about half of all the US comics, and me receiving the final Micromasters and Action Masters my parents could find at Toy Liquidators, plus Horri-Bull from a Big Wheel store just before it went out of business; Fangry, from the same store, would become the last G1er I'd ever get outside of the secondary market the following Easter.

Though many argue the toyline went askew around the time of the movie, I've often wondered what might have been if it had evolved more naturally after the incredible variety that was '88, instead of diverting into just 3 overriding gimmicks until the end (I'm not bashing the later stuff, and I'm still happy with what I got out of it). I'd later learn the European line sort of got back to a similar aesthetic, but that was nothing compared to when I finally saw Victory: even if it was just for one more year before going all micronized like the US stuff, Japan had apparently made the 1989 line that I'd always wanted, and Star Saber, Victory Leo, Road Caesar, and especially LioKaiser became the only vintage foreign TFs that I've been willing to pay astronomical prices to get in their original packaging (I couldn't find Deathsaurus before prices shot even higher, and when you already have the Monster Pretenders, the Dino Force doesn't seem like as urgent a get. But someday...). When I bought all of those off Ebay in 2003, it was like finding some relic from the summer of '88 that I subconsciously sensed was there all along, without actually knowing it.

Okay, that was way too long for a non-story, but it's just what sprang to mind.

My favorite Transformers memory:

One Christmas in Buffalo, NY, my uncle hinted that I may be getting a Transformer from him. In the days leading up to Christmas Eve, I couldn't stop thinking about which one I'd be getting. The night before Christmas Eve, I dreamed that it was Soundwave, but when I opened my uncle's gift to me Christmas Eve night, it turned out to be Megatron, which was just as good.

I played with Megatron nonstop that night, went to sleep, opened my "From Santa" presents Christmas morning, but kept playing with Megatron until ...

I was showing some other family members how to transform Megatron, but I did the transformation in the wrong order, and his legs snapped off with hardly any effort. I was crushed. I hadn't even had the toy for 24 hours before breaking him. Of course, there were no more Megatrons at the store when we took it back the following day, so I had to settle for a G.I. Joe Dragonfly helicopter. Still a cool toy, but it was no Megatron.

Without a doubt, my best memory of Transfomers has to be the first time I saw the original movie. Everything about it was so amazing to me! Seeing a Transformer the size of Unicron on the big screen absolutely blew me away, being brought to tears when Optimus Prime died, even hearing my 1st cuss words spoken in an animated movie! And to this day, I still find myself singing "The Touch" and "Dare to be Stupid". From that point on, I was absolutely hooked!

When I was little I would spend a lot of time between my grandparents or great-aunt"s houses so I would try to teach them how to transform them. I think the first 1 got was either Rodimus Prime or the predacon Headstrong, and it only took 20 years to finally complete Predaking!

What I have isn't so much a memory as it is something that sparks a memory.

My very first Transformer was G1 Overbite of Seacon notoriety. I was maybe 3 when my Abuela gave it to me. I remember playing with that toy for endless hours, taking it with me everywhere I went. I spent time with friends, my grandparents, my cousins... and even if I wasn't necessarily playing with it at the moment, Overbite wasn't too far. I still have that very same figure years later, and while he's missing some parts, and he's got a rusty screw and loose limbs, he still holds a special place in my heart because he reminds me of simpler times.

I barely remember any of the G1 episodes growing up. All I truly remember was the two-part Return of Optimus Prime, and the second half of The Rebirth, Part II.

I used a tape recorder to record the audio off one of my cartoon video tapes, which included The Rebirth. The clip began with: "Ah-HA! HA! HA! Those Autobots are gonna be molten metal!"
"Alright, knock it off! And what of my weapon?"
"It's me, I'm Fracas! And if you think Blowpipe was bad, I'm worse!"
"And you're louder."

I memorized most of the dialogue listening to that tape over and over. Years later, I would play it back in my head and understand the dialogue at a level that I didn't when I was younger.

Ok, this one is pretty embarrassing, but here goes:

When I was 9, my parents went on vaction, and my brother and I stayed with my grandparents. I loved Transformers back then, and my grandmother knew that, so she took us to Toys R Us.

Never before had I seen so many Transformers at once. All I can remember is a giant wall of red and purple boxes...

Anyway, I was staring at the wall for so long, I forgot I had to go to the little boy's room. Needless to say, I ended up standing in a puddle.

Hmmm..maybe "fond" isn't the best word to describe this memory...but man, that was a great wall of toys!
