In the beginning of the series, the transformers spend 4,000 years before they were repaired yet no one on Cybertron came to look for them. In the old movie, he wasn't around to find out that his leader was reformatted.

I think you mean Shockwave. And it was 4 million years, not 4 thousand. He did in fact come looking for the Transformers in the 1980's Marvel Comic books, during Prehistoric times. Teletran one activated all 5 Dynobots and reformated them into the Dinobots. They battled Shockwave and all 6 got knocked into a volcano. Shockwave later escaped in roughly 1984/85. Did he come looking to help Megatron and the Decepticons? Hell no. He came to defeat Megatron and cement his leadership of the Decepticons.

In the cartoon no real reason was given for Shockwave never looking for Megatron. But fans pretty much decided for themselves that Shockwave had decided to keep leadership for himself, feigning loyalty. Both this and the 80's Marvel Shockwave idea were used by Dreamwave for their G1 Transformers Vol. 2.

Megatron told Shockwave to ensure that Cybertron remained the way he left it.

Shockwave followed the instructions to the letter.

This is what I was going to say if it hadn't been mentioned.

In the cartoon, Shockwave's loyalty to Megatron is completely unquestioning even in Megatron's absence, which is what sets his and Soundwave's loyalty apart since even Soundwave fought for leadership inside Astrotrain in TFTM. Therefore, during those 4 million years, Shockwave remained on Cybertron fighting small groups of Autobots while awaiting for signs that Megatron was back.

Well, if you want to be technical, Megatron said no such thing. It was Shockwave who said that. The original script and storyboards for the movie had Shockwave killed during Unicron's attack, which is why he was never around after the movie.

In the original Marvel comics, Shockwave stayed on board the Decepticon ship when they attacked the Ark in space. After they disappeared, Shockwave followed them to Earth, where the Ark reactivated 5 autobots (the term Dynobots is a resent thing, they were never referred to as that in the original comics) and based their alt modes on what seemed to be the most dominant life form - dinosaurs. These were based on life found in the Savage Land (where Shockwave landed), where long time Marvel fans will recognize that dinosaurs still exist.

Schockwave was in the Movie!
As Unicron attacked, you saw him for a sec ore two, saying:
"Desepticons we're under attack!"
Then we saw the Coneheads die.

Desepticons! A new sub-group comprised of Decepticons with various Septic tank alt modes.

Sadly, Springer was not invited...

Sorry, had to do it...impulse control...nonexistent.

It would sure be nice if people would actually read what others said within their posts, but, sadly, that is not the case with this and many other current threads.

*sigh*

Shockwave couldn't leave Cybertron. He was a Guardian...of an entire planet. And he was significantly understaffed!

Oh dude, seriously? When have I ever had a track record for that? I threw in a joke that I thought was funny, that was the extent of it. And with my history of spelling, I would hardly be one to talk.

But he never gave up, and one day he contacted Megatron. His drones love the story more each time. :D

Shockwave probably preferred the isolation-alone with his logic, bliss! Like leaving steven hawkings alone with a calculator.
