Unfortunately,it's not.I think that's what the gamemakers were going for,but Hasbro aligned it with Prime. 8-} 8-}

I can agree, they wanted a "g1" feel.
But useing characters not created till they came to earth put them outside any pre-existing G1 continuity.

it could have been a new g1 continuity, like IDW if they wanted it to be.

My favorite must be G1/Beast Wars (and yeah, Beast Machines too as it has its merits even though I take issue with certain aspects of it but at least it wraps things up for the continuity well enough). Second would have to be the video games. The stories are great and getting to actually take part in them rather than just observing (reading, watching etc., i.e. comics, TV shows and movies) makes a big difference and helps you to really care about what's going on and the fates of the characters involved.

Honestly, Beast Machines is the most highbrow and most tightly-written series we've ever gotten. From start to finish, it feels like the writers knew exactly what they were doing going into it with very little of anything feeling like it was forced in at the 11th hour (there are traces of such things in there, but it's exceedingly minor). It took its audience seriously and engaged us on an intellectual and philosophical level (You know, for kids! :P ), asking and exploring big questions and high-minded concepts that no other series (let alone other kids cartoons of the time) were willing to ask and explore. It dug deep into the soil of the lore to plant the seeds of its own mythos to add to all that came before. It took risks and pushed itself to show just how far it could go with its potential, revolutionizing the brand's mythology and forever changing it for years to come. 8)

In reply to the original question, G1 is the only continuity for me. I'm an avid fan of the original cartoon and Marvel UK comics. I've also been impressed by the standard set by IDW despite it losing its way a little recently.

The strength of G1 is the sense of nostalgia from a certain generation. Typified by the commerical and critical success of the Regeneration One series.

I'm sure you are awatr that "G1" did not start with the cartoon right?

I don't even consider headmasters to be fully part of G1 even though they showed up at the very end (and in my opinion, helped kill the cartoon).

I dont mean to insult you but your opinion is sadly misinformed.

Season 3 killed the cartoon. The show was dropped/canceled in some markets before season 3 finished airing all its episodes. Some network even moved the airing of new episodes to early school day mornings, which is pretty evident of low ratings.

In his defence, he did clearly state that he has a pretty narrow definition of what G1 is.

It's sad that the Headmasters storyline was never given a fair crack at the whip because the animation and voice talent showed a marked improvement on Season 3.

When you say Headmasters, you are talking about Rebirth aren't you? Or did you want to watch the Star dubs after season 3 ;) Though if the cartoon continued I wonder how they would of treat the Pretenders and Action Masters

Probably the same way in which they treat all their creations: money making transforming prostitutes to be killed off the moment that particular corporate cash cow has milked its last penny. >:oP

I would say the stories on season 3 were also a step up.
Not sure I agree on the animation.

Wait, isn't that evidence against season 3 having good animation? That and well thats one of the worst eps since b.o.t. In terms of writing.

A continuity in which WFC and FOC tie in with G1 and Beast Wars doesn't exist.

Actually I don't think that's what he means.

To put it simply, this is how chivesbot20 sees it.

1st place: G1 and Beast Wars
1st place: WoC and FoC
3rd place: etc

He's basically saying they're tied for the number one slot :)

what you are saying doesnt jive with the facts.

WFC and FOC do not connect to G1 any established D1 continuity.

unless you are talking about your fanmade continuity

See the post ZeroWolk wrote above yours. Chivesbot20 might have meant "ties" in a competitive manner rather than a familial/relational one.
