Smash Bros. Help

I just got Brawl as a birthday gift, and, I'm quite sad that it won't work. I've checked all the plugs, put the disk in the right way, and read the manual for help. Nothing seems to get it going. Can Someone give me alittle help please?

That sucks :-( . Unfortuneately, your going to have to call Nintendo and send your Wii in to get the lense cleaned. Brawl was made with a double-layer disc or something and dirty lenses can't read the game. Read this for all the info: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=928518&topic=41842548

There was also a thread on there that said it might happen to all Wii's eventually, but I hope that's not true.

Before you ship it off to Nintendo though, I'd suggest you try other game disks. The disk could be scratched or something. Or you could try blowing in it. Does that still work?

Though I hate the fact that you didn't put this in the dedicated Smash thread...

Duke of Luns is correct.

Smash is a dual layer dvd, the first of its kind for the Wii. Some systems can not read it due to a dirty lens or just weak hardware.

You MUST ship it to Nintendo. The repair is free. Go to the NOA tech help website or gamefaqs for more info. Turn around time is a little over a week. Once you get your system fixed, get your broken ass Wii online and learn the power and glory that is Gannon-fist.

This really sucks. I guess I'll have to send it off and wait even more for the Brawl, :(

did you do the latest Wii System update? the Wii cannot read Smash bros. brawl without the last system update. However, it should prompt you to update. I say first look into that, then go exchange your copy of smash bros, then after that send it into nintendo. Do whatever you can to not go without your Wii for extended time!

It must be the lense needing cleaning. I mean, the Wii does prompt you to update (as said)...

I suggest manually scanning for an update before you try anything else... :-?

The disc isn't defective.

Some systems don't have a strong enough laser to play it properly.
