Completed Batman Arkham Origins in normal mode. Going back for a second round because the damn Dark Knight Challenges are infuriatingly hard when it comes to making the game recognize it.

Repeated the Worst Nightmare rank 6 challenge twice, did everything it wanted and STILL it wouldn't register. The real kicker is that the Gotham Merchant Bank predator room is the only place you can do it, since it's the only place with brick walls to explode.

Now I'm hearing that you actually need to do it in freaking sequence and do an inverted takedown from the gargoyle above the door (aka the ONE place those AI goons almost never walk under).

Frak it, I'll probably just keep playing for the fun of it, and enjoy the fighting system...which itself can be a bit frustrating if you're looking to score a high combo. The timing is awkward in places, and the AI either attacks you relentlessly, or suddenly stop, causing your combo meter to cancel out.

I haven't played the earlier Arkham games, but I've heard that the fighting system was much better until it was unnecessarily tweaked in Origins.

Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Beat the first three temples and got the master sword and witnessed ganon's re-awakening in just under 2 and a half hours. This game is ridiculously easy. I mean, it makes Windwaker look hard. Its still fun though, and since its Zelda I really can't complain. The puzzles are interesting with the new system that has you merging into walls, and its nice exploring this version of Hyrule again, however changed it may be.

A Link Between Worlds

Rescued all seven sages, and got the red mail and boots. The last boss is surprisingly difficult though. hes actually why i backtracked for the red mail to begin with.

Batman: Arkham Origins:
BEATEN! Well, the main story and most of the side quests. Still have a few loose ends to tie up. And New Game Plus.

XCOM: Enemy Within:
And then there's this. Not to far in (I still have to capture a live Outsider) but I've got the Titan Armor, a colonel MEC Trooper and a ton of other fun things.

Is it any good? I haven't played a Legend of Zelda game in years, and I found out about this like several days after its release. I don't have a 3DS, nor do I really care to own one, but I am curious about the game's gameplay value. :-?

Really ought to get my Wii back from my sister, so I could go back and replay Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess for the nostalgia...

Its alright. If you played A Link To The Past, wich, you know, stop reading this and go do whatever it takes to play it if you haven't, its pretty good, only for the unique twist they put on it.

Gameplay wise? Its a tad too forgiving. I died a grand total of 9 times, 7 of wich were in that damn ice temple. Ice physics, splash damage, holes and cliffs everywere, getting frozen takes a whole heart each half second if you dont have the mail, that temple was a cheap death fest.

On that note however, once you beat it you unlock a harder difficulty, so it has replayability. Just be sure to get the blue and red mail, and to forge the master sword to lvl 3. Or dont, it'll make the game tougher without having to replay it.

See? Options!

I bought sooo many games on Steam this week, I have spent so much money on the winter sale.

Skyrim

I got the game for 35$ for the Legendary edition, then the next day it went on sale for $20. :( The game plays much better on PC then on Xbox, I beat the main story in 5 hours or so, I'm about halfway through the Dawnguard DLC, and I'm almost level 20.

Fallout: New Vegas

I got the game for like $7 because I've never played a Fallout game, but right now I just made it to Primm, I think I'm level 3 now.

Hitman: Absolution

I played the first mission for this game, I didn't like it much on PC, I enjoyed it more on PS3.

The Last of Us:
BEATEN! Joel made his choice of Ellie vs. Everyone Else, and in the event of a sequel, he's going to get bit in the ass hard for it. Still, a really fun game. In fact, the complete opposite of...

DmC: Devil May Cry:
BEATEN! My God this game was trash. The level design was fantastic, the everything else was awful; character design, music, script, voice acting. Get it if it's cheap, otherwise, don't get it at all.

Hitman: Absolution:
Escaped onto the train and got away clean. Next up: more murder.

Dynasty Warriors 8

Material mining, weapons tempering, and basically trying to get the best weapons for all the characters...yeah, all 50+ of them. Fun days.

Strangely, even after replaying the exact same story for the 4th time now (started at 4, skipped 6) it doesn't really get old.

I guess that's the magic of a classic tale.

Up to operation 6. The game randomly switched to a punch-out style game and now I'm playing an isometric schmup... and it is GLORIOUS!
That said, this game is frustrating to an self-mutilating degree. it has a very bad habit of dropping you into new gameplay styles or bosses with little to no indication of weakspot or attack styles. The replays are fine because you know what's happening but the first time around you die multiple times because you don't know what's blockable and whats not. sigh...

Still in Buckingham palace. That place is littered with corpses. Too bad they are mostly my player characters. #-o

Okay, so I guess I'll contribute to the cause.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Oh, holy God, this game is great. Don't particularly care for Assassin's Creed multiplayer in general, but the single-player mode... Good God, one of the best games I've ever preordered. Ever. If you don't have it yet, GO GET IT NOW!

Assassin's Creed III

This was one of my Christmas presents this year. After watching all the cutscenes on YouTube, I really wanted this game. When I first got to play it, I was somewhat disappointed. I like the story, it's just I feel that it's easy to die, compared to other Assassin's Creed games. Also, it's virtually impossible to get 100% synchronization on it. There were many a time that I was raging because I couldn't complete the requisite for 100% synchronization progress.

BEATEN! Got my guns back, got my suit back, saved the girl, and Diana might actually still be alive. Huh.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon:
Holy hell this is the most beautifully '80s game ever. On my way to the Dam, first I'm liberating bases.

GAME. BEATEN!
Figured I was close enough to the end that I could knock this out for New years. 7 hours later and half-past-midnight, I'd done it.
I am so conflicted in regards to this game. the game dragged on unbelievably (the last boss battle clocked in at 58 minutes because it just kept adding new sections) but those same sections were funny as well, closed the story, and altogether fun to play. That's actually a good description of the game as a whole. Frustrating as hell but you feel better for having played it. It's like Beating Battletoads, back in the day. Overall, if you have a Wii U, BUY THIS GAME!

Assassins Creed IV (warning some ranting)
I got AC IV with credit card points. I may never get this style of game or modern style of game in general. I am struggling to get off the abandoned island, aka the FIRST FRACKING LEVEL. Does anyone have some tip websites/YouTube without too many spoilers? BTW, how can Edward Kenway free run over entire cities, but CANNOT climb a hill with a little moss! I am a total clutz and can climb hill with that little moss.

About multiplayer, I agree wholeheartedly. First time I tried multiplayer, I was on that silly "hide in a crowd" mission, and all of three of my "teammate" let me die in front of them without lifting a finger and wouldn't even help me finish off someone! Either my teammate are idiots or obeying the rules of an beyond-idiotic mission.

I am so bad at this type of game, I might go WII U and let everyone else buy a PS4 and (shudder) the NSA's XBONE!

ZombiU
Having collected the old books for the Scientist in Buckingham palace, I'm off to the Tower of London despite my mentor's lack of support. Met the followers of Dee and had to scramble to survive a zombie onslaught. Made it through and found myself a sniper rifle.
Tested said rifle after clearing out the local area but apparently I missed a zombie. I had zombie number 3 in my sites when my character dropped to the floor and is now 'one of them...'. #-o
I guess there is such a thing as getting too comfortable with a survival horror game. New personal record. Kept this one alive for 3 and a half hours of gametime. Luckily my next one was able to kill the one I lost and retrieve my rifle and crossbow.

Getting the hang of keeping people alive. kept another one alive for 2 1/2 hours of game time. but I just ran into an 'arena' scenario. Armed with only a pistol, I'm swarmed by armored zombies (former swat cops). My survivor count has gone from 15 to 20 lost in the last half hour. :BANG_HEAD:

GAME.FAILED!
Made it to the end but my survivor didn't quite make it to the helipad in time and got eated up. Final scenes play so at least this survivor doesn't end up a Zombie. #-o
I could go on and on about everything that is wrong with this game, but I won't. Because I actually really liked it. It's survival-horror in all the right ways. You are scared of dying, you are completely alone, every zombie is a fight-vs-flight decision. In one of the final stretches, my survivor was a badass. Strutting around with a carbine, unstoppa-oh wait I'm dead. :BOOM:
It's too bad this game didn't sell enough to warrant a sequel. With the proper polish, this could have been a true gem.

Final Fantasy XIII-2:
I got this simply because I make poor life choices. I went into it with an open mind...or so I told myself, fully expecting it to replicate its predecessor. (That is, I expected it to suck) Fortunately Square at least recognized some of their mistakes and and an effort to fix them. The combat is still the same crappy system from the last game (Press auto-battle, sometimes switch paradigms, repeat) but the infamous Hallway is gone. The writing is a step ahead, too in that they actually explain nearly everything in cutscenes, rather than the cop-out of just putting everything in the datalog. (If you have to make an encyclopedia to explain what the hell is going on in your story, you are a failure as a writer) The male lead is an example of what a Final Fantasy male lead should be: Not too whiny, not too cheery. A pretty cool guy who kills monsters and doesn't afraid of anything.

Basically, it's still hit-and-miss, but at least it's got a better batting average than the last game.

On chapter 4, collecting Graviton Cores for Hope. (Who took the time between games to grow the **** up; as a result, I no longer wish for his death) Also I got the DLC bundle so I can fight Gilgamesh. Because Gilgamesh is my favorite.

CAll of Duty: Black Ops II
GAME.BEATEN.TWICE!
I should explain. I'm a mouse and keyboard user but I figured I'd try dual analog. for $20, I figured why not. I dived in on hard difficulty (one step above normal). Game was surprisingly easy, except for the strike force missions. I, quite frankly, hate those missions. Your team AI is stupid beyond belief, instead turning the mission into a 1-on-83 deathmatch because you have to do everything yourself. I honestly rage-quit at one point. After running out of strike force teams, I played through to the worst ending possible.
I decided to retry it on normal difficulty and the game was a cakewalk. Strike force AI still sucks, but now the enemy was just as dumb and I could manage them. Got the best ending on the second round.

Sonic: Lost World
Started the game and. Currently on level 3 of world 2.
I've seen some pretty nasty reviews of this game, but I honestly enjoy it. Other than the lock-on system needing some tweaks, it controls well enough that I don't mind playing levels again to find the red stars.

Witcher 2
After doing every prep mission, I took on and defeated the Kayran. Got some Kayran skin for my trouble but I'm missing components to craft it into Armor. Currently finishing up some other missions relating to the rogue elf tribe outside the town. Also got to witness the beautiful Bath scene. :x

Madworld

Just beat the shamans and lost my last life to frank...
This game seriously prides itself on diversity!
Throw an enemy into a flaming barrel, pick up the barrel and enemy and stuff it on top of another enemy, grab a sign post or four and impale with glee, then end it by tossing them onto a wall of spikes! I love this game!

GTAV Online

Level...63 I think? I wish rockstar would stop tweaking the damn game to fatten their bottom line and actually fix the things that need rixing. Im tired of level 20s rolling over my ass in tanks they got illegitimately via url glitch. I have to pay for my car to get replaced every time they blow it up in a tank because rockstar messed up the programming on the tanks, like they did a good 25% of the game...

Minecraft

So this happened. its...ok I guess...
kind of a more confy game than anything. But hey, when your sick, cold, rolled up in a blanket, its raining outside, this game feels just right.

This game is a surprise time-stealer. YOu decide to build something, but then spend hours gathering the resources, building up, getting more resources, building up... Only when you finish do you realize 3 days have passed and you now have a stone monument to yourself to show off.

I played a lot of stuff between now and my last post.

Pokemon X

Went through it twice with the Grass and Water starters. Tried to do the whole competitive breeding things but the process is long and my patience is short.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch

Best 10 bucks I've spent on Steam in awhile. Fairly short but super fun. Went back through a couple levels to find hidden neck ties.

Deadpool

Beat it last night and sweet Primus that last fight is a giant clusterf*ck of clone carnage. Worth it for the ending though.

Just gonna throw this out there, if anyone has Saints Row 4 for PS3 we should totally play some co-op.

Devil May Cry 3

Mortal Kombat

Ok, get this. I dont care how, get it. Its rock solid and plays like budda. Its a perfect fighting game, responsive, loaded with content, story and cutscenes everywere, its just great,

If anyone has MK9 on PS3 im down.
