Alright, I got this game for my 360, and I have to say, I love it so far!

Now, I can't say I'm really good at game reviews or anything like that, but I am definitely having fun with this game. My only complaints are rather minor, and really more opinion based then about any real issue with the game. I personally suggest changing the control scheme so that transforming is linked to the "y" button instead of clicking the left stick down. Through the first level, I kept inadvertently transforming in the middle of battle, and getting myself confused. I think it also would have been nice to have a quick playable tutorial level. After reading the instructions and some trial and error, the controls were easy to use, but I still had to look at the instruction booklet a few times to keep it all straight. But, like I said, minor complaints! I really couldn't put this game down for a quite a few hours, and I can't wait to do some online multiplayer!

I've already seen/heard a few homages, too. Off the top of my head, Megatron's "I still function!" line to Starscream made me smile a lot. They've got some really good banter and one-liners in there; especially when the Seekers are together.

So, my vote is 5 out of 5! Definitely worth the money and the wait, and a great addition to the TF universe! ... and I think Bumblebee is just slagging awesome in this game XD

This game is AMAZING! It exceeded my already high expectations. The fan-service is awesome! (Tell me you didn't flip when you played the Soundwave boss battle) WFC is the most fun I've had in a long time. I just hope that we get another one.

Hey Seibertron, if you're reading this, I got an awesome idea; we could hold monthly tournaments and whoever wins could hold the title of "Autobot/Decepticon Leader of the Month" or something like that, and the prize is like, um, Energon for the Heavy Metal War game or something. Just an idea I'm throwing out there!

Awesome game. Transformers: War For Cybertron is like being in the 80's cartoon and excellent grafix. The sound (I have surround sound) is perfect and I hope will be asecond part of the game (Transformers: War on Earth?). The movie could be as good as the game is. And hopefully Grimlock will be Transformers 3. SEIBERTRON.COM is my favorite and numero uno site there is. Keep up the work guys!

I love this game.

First off I am not a fan of most shooters. But can not get over how well this game plays. I have not got into the campaigns enough to provide feedback, but mutiplayer rocks. The classes seemed designed to appeal to differnt play styles and you have to play around with them to find the one that suites you and when you find it the game expands to new levels of enjoyment.

Last week I got a 60 inch tv.
Today I got War for Cybertron.
The result of this combination has rendered me unable to experience real emotion outside of this game. The entire world is less awesome by comparison. Now I know what those blue-painted woodland nerds in Wisconsin feel.

Man, oh, man! This game is AAAAH-Mazin'!!! I couldn't put the controller down!! I played for 8 hours straight and the long length of the levels is actually pretty nice. The gameplay is great, I dint have a prob with it it at all. The limited amo and health that u can't get back just by talkin cover actually gives the game a challenge, unlike the movie games which didn't do this and were a breeze. The graphics are superb on mah PS3. And the story is great, it was thought through well. I love all the characters, especially Breakdown and his constant whining xD and multiplayer is MUCH better than expected, it's actually fun and easy to work with. I would reccomend this game to anyone, if ur a tf fan or not, you will love this game :BOT:

:KREMZEEK: QUICK REVIEW:

7/10 - *******

GAMEPLAY: Wow!, what a fun game. The pacing is near-perfect for what is expected of the franchise (that being giant robots at war for thousands of years), and the combat physics makes sense; depending on just what kind of ammunition or energy you get hit with you either get downed in combat and can still target and destroy enemies, fall to the ground offline, or blow up on the spot into shrapnel shards and dissipating Energon. The level design is enough to make you either think ahead or just plain try to understand how a mechanical world is constructed and functions; the levels have yet to get boring or too tedious, or insane for no reason other than it could be -- everything that happens happens for a reason, whether through incident or narrative. Even when things seem difficult, there is better way to handle things once you start to think creatively. ****

GRAPHICS: The game only outputs a picture quality of 720p (and it shows), however it does get the job done and allows for improvement in a later sequel. Robot design is both unique and evocatative, harkening back to The Transformers 1984 roots while still paying homeage to so many other incarnations (even the recent film series in certain respects, but always in the most fan-friendly, manageable ways) enough for all manner of fan to enjoy. Metal textures have the proper sheen and battle damage/degredation a combat-weary lifeform/locale needs to. There is a grittiness here that TransFans and hardcore gamers will never stop loving, and indeed left me and other fellow players wanting more. ***

I picked up the game today and immediately installed it on my current computer. It played moderately well. I went through I think most of the first Decepticon mission and decided I had to give it up because the computer is barely handling it. My new one is still being built by a friend of mine.
But from what I have played I'm rather enjoying it. I plan on doing all the missions as each available character to get the feel for each class and their abilities. The game encourages the player to go through the campaign first before going on-line. :-?
Whatever.
I'm definitely enjoying this game more on the computer than the 360 platform. Incidently, the Gamestop where I purchased the game had only one copy of the gameguide. So I scooped it up.
It seems to me to be one of those mindless first person shooters like Serious Sam. I love those games from time to time. Sometimes I don't feel like applying my brainwork so it's all good to me. On the other hand, there were times when I did have to think.
At times I didn't know what to do to keep the game moving but thats good too. It made me do some looking around and scouting. Since I was on the first mission with Megs watching me, I didn't want to take too long before he beat my tailpipe into the ground.
With there being a limit to your ammunition I found it interesting how the side effect is having to swap weapons and even transform to alt mode in order to keep blasting at your opponents. This is a good thing in order to learn several aspects of each class and their abilities. I'm not resorting to stepping in with an itchy trigger finger and getting bored from monotony.
I can't wait to get my souped-up computer and play this game at it's full potential.

One question: Is it just me or did everyone get to watch cut scenes in black and white? Either thats how the cutscenes were done or my graphics card isn't up to snuff (I know it did better than my sound card).

Nope, the cutscenes are supposed to be full-color. It's probably your machine.

Game is amazing! My only complaint so far is with Activision. Has anyone got their exclusive character from the Activision site yet? I've tried 2 accounts and after it sends an email to confirm my account, I try to login and it just says Login failed. Very frustrating...one of the reasons I pre-ordered was for Shockwave.

I had that problem at first. They're supposed to send you an e-mail to confirm your registration, without clicking the link in it, you can't log in. Problem is, they don't send these out instantly, it took them over an hour to get me my confirmation e-mail.

I'm not horribly fond of how dark everything is. It's hard to see crates, and ammo is sparse, so we wind up nosing around for bullets.

I'm running the PC version, and it's great. One .dll error after installing, but it ran just fine after that.

The co-op mode is fantastic, and the reason I got the game.

Aweseome game. It's got it's problems, but I daresay this is the best Transformers video game yet.

Everyone seems to be commenting on the console versions. Can't contribute there...but can for the NDs versions, at least in part. Got through the "introductions" on both & the first mission on the Decepticon version.

The graphics are better than the previous NDS Transformers games. Music...meh. Peter Cullen's voice is classic, of course. While Bumblebee sounds a bit like Ichigo from "Bleach". :D

I would be interested in knowing just how different the story-lines are from console to console. Even if not can always go to Transformers: Exodus whenever it gets here from Amazon to catch the full story.

Only downside: What happened to any sort of Wi-fi gaming with this thing??? :BANG_HEAD:

This game is now the best Transformers game ever (not that that would be hard to accomplish). It looks great, plays great and has excellent single player and multiplayer modes. It feels and looks like Gears of War was an inspiration behind it and that is a good thing cause it has the grit needed to portray a war (something the other games have never really achieved). The creators obviously did their research as it is filled with little nods to the fandom throughout. The planet Cybertron itself looks amazing and is very detailed showing a world built with transformer tech in mind such as highways that unfold and buildings that change shape. All up the game feels like a quality title.

However I have always found it annoying with games that do not allow you access to the multiplayer section offline and I can't see any excuse for not including splitscreen multiplayer/co-op. When the servers have long gone or become empty once the next big thing comes out the multiplayer is the first part that suffers and this game will eventually reach this outcome. I feel sorry for those who do not have online because you are paying for half a game you will have characters you will never try out and levels you will never see, maybe a patch will be introduced to allow even a single player to have a glance while offline but as of now if you aren't online the game and it's developers are pretty much saying YOU ARE NOT WORTHY and YOU DON'T EXIST.

I think the game is ok, clearly it is geared up for online players rather than for across the board, but anyway I give it 7/10.

A few gripes:

I felt the missions were on occassion too long and drawn out and too linear.

Not much in the way of character selection.

Not enough flying missions or missions which involved good uses of vehicle mode.

Lack of cover system

Pants AI

Lack of Offline hoarde mode/or similar (for people not connected to the net)

All in all it is a good game but now I have completed it there's nothing else for me to do so it's back to Red Dead for me and WFC will end up gathering dust. :-(

So I'm not entirley finished with the campaigns yet, but from what I've played so far and from the multiplayer beta....this game is fantastic. This will be the game to pull The Transformers name out of the muck in the video game world. As always it is not perfect, I hate that they only give you very bright colors for the autobots and very dismal colors for the decepticons. I see where they are coming with this but the next game take that crap out and give us a little more freedom with customization. Other than that it's really just some very very minor glitches I have noticed. To wrap it up I love this game...and I will be playing on the 360 all the time ( gamertag PanzerBatallion) and every fan of Transformers should pick this game up either for the 360 or PS3. :BOT: :CON:

That's because the bumblebee's voice actor is the same voice actor that did Ichigo's voice in Bleach.

I bought it for the PS3 and I have to say it's even better then what I thoguht it would be.I do find the escalation mode to be alittle tough once to make it past wave 6 or 7 but all in all I have it a 10 out of 10

Or, as he's better known: Johnny Yong Bosch, who played Adam Park, the second Black Ranger on the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, MMPR The Movie, and the Turbo movie.

It's just easier to say he's the second Black Ranger and people will automatically say "Oh yeah, him. I remember now."

An odd choice, if I do say so myself. Is he any good as Bumblebee?

I picked my copy up for the 360 after work yesterday, and even though I've only played through the entire Decepticon campaign and the first level of the Autobots', this game is totally effing awesome. Combat is fast-paced and challenging (especially with the scarcity of ammo at times), transformation is smooth, the robots are slick, voice acting is great, and that's just campaign! I haven't even gone into multiplayer yet!

I have some minor annoyances, of course, but they don't detract any from the overall playability. Firstly, the selection of chassis in multiplayer seems a bit scarce (Autobots need more tanks!). Perhaps we'll get some future DLC with additional mutliplayer chassis?

Secondly, I'm kinda miffed about the color choices when customizing your TFs in multiplayer: Autobots are limited to blue, red, green, orange, and yellow (all of them very bright), while Decepticons have faded colors like grey, purple, light blue & green. Now, my beef comes primarly from the fact that since I play HMW, I was excited to take my 'Bots from there and put them in WFC. Sadly, I can't get them exactly the way I wanted, but I'll adapt.

Again, those are relatively minor inconveniences admist a sea of awesomeness. Fans of shooters and TFs alike will enjoy this. One of my favorite games of all time! 8)

Ok, so you all have listed the good parts quite well.

…and the game IS good, especially the single player mode (though the multi is no slouch either). I would rate it at around 8.5/10

That being said, here are my complaints about the game:

CHECKING….

10%

20%

CHECKING…

40%

80%

81%

90%

CHECKING…

100%

Seriously, why? That was a very big install, why are we checking the data EVERY time I load the game?

Onward:

Single Player:
-Occasionally, enemies can be seen, but don’t exist. Meaning, you can target and shoot at them, but the shots will have no effect because you haven’t loaded them yet.
-Loading breaks. Drive too fast? Stop to load. Run into a room with a speech cue? Stop to load. Why?
-Megatron is insane. Ok, I was under the impression that it might be possible to sympathize with Megatron’s purpose here. No, he’s insane. Big Brother-esq rants over loud speaker about the joy of giving up free-will? Seems like maybe Hasbro required that the sympathy factor get turned down for the villain.
-Trypticon battle Part 2…Now, this is only a complaint because of how AWESOME the Omega Supreme battle was. By comparison, the Trypticon battle is shallow and frustrating.

Multi-Player
-Oh boy…I can’t invite people into private rooms for games that aren’t on my friends list??? What the hell?
-“Match is full or does not exist.” ::calls friend playing game:: “You have people in your game? No?” ::FFFFFFFFFFFF::
-Decepticon colors…they’re Easter Colors + Black and Gray.  Sad Panda.
-Disconnects…I don’t know what’s up, probably first day jitters. Let’s resolve that.
