TransFormers: The Game for PC

The pc version is obviously a poorly made port of the console. The menu does not even recognize a mouse. But among the worst issues that I have with this version (and there are many) are the audio glitches.

Music and voices begin to play, and then a few seconds later, stop in the middle and start over again. Sometimes the voices will restart somewhere in mid-sentence.

Even if there is a patch, which is a MUST to salvage any enjoyment out of this, there would still be the poor level designs that exist across all platforms. (Chasing a helicopter that takes interstate onramps??? Come on, TT!)

I'm hoping for some kind of dev tools or something that will allow the mod community to take this game to places it SHOULD have gone already.

Goddammit! Being 360,PS3 and Wii-less the PC was my only hope of playing the game. Still...having seen alot of lukewarm reviews for the 360 version maybe it'll stop me wasting my money. Still, was probably gonna pick it up if I saw it for cheap anyway. Ah well

That sucks. Is it possible that it's an issue with your computer?

I have not ruled that out. My audio card is a little outdated. But I run Oblivion, BF2142 and Prey smooth as glass with no audio issues. I doubt it's my pc.

Crap. There goes my wishful thinking. At least that's money I can save, I guess.

I'm still hoping for redemption to come in the form of a mod community. I've got lots of cool ideas for this game if only I had the level editor.

I'm also hoping that there will be a mod, or official patch for the game, as I don't own any consoles either. I just checked play.com, and the game is due for release on the 20th of next month here in the UK.

Would most of you suggest that I cancel my preorder, or keep it preordered and see if any mods or patches come along to sort the problems?

I've had a bit of a change of heart, so I'll still be getting it. I say keep your preorder and hope for patches.

I love your sig, BTW :D .

I haven't had any sound problems and I've been playing on the PC version for probably about 8 hours now. The songs do repeat a bit but I think the tracks just run out eventually. As far as graphics go, The PC is just as good if not better than the PS3 and XBOX 360 versions as it can have a higher resolution.(Granted you do need a graphics card strong enough to compete.) As far as level design goes, it doesn't really matter what version you get as they are all the same. All in all, for $20 versus $60 The PC version is a much better buy.

Thanks, I will be keeping my preorder, bound to be some patches eventually, right?

well the thing is with pc games is that they have hardware requirements that have to be met in order to play a game smoothly so i wouldn't be surprised if this version wasn't very good but you all know this of course. all i'm saying is that i would avoid this version and get one of the console games.

Never had that problem. I think it is your audio software.

you're the first one that i've heard of who hadn't had problems, which makes you very fortunate. did you get the bonus content as well? there was a cybertron addition that was released and don't know if the PC version has it, i have the cybertron edition on my 360.

It is your soundcard, not the game, which is causing the problems.

Sorry for the stupid question, but when/where/how do you input the codes for the Skin access? You know, the whole down-down-up-up-right-right-right etc thing?

Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out. You have to enter them at the 'Campaign/Bonus Features/Credits' menu, not the 'New/Load' menu.

I agree that the maps are waaaaaaayy too small, and it's of course ridiculous that a helicopter would follow the roads. It's also very unclear when the 'missions' are complete, e.g. you just drive around and after having chased the helicopter five times around town, you have completed the mission... without doing anything... ?? :-?

I also agree that the graphics are not great, although the game is still pretty good looking and you don't notice it that much if you're in the middle of the action. It's just stupid that you can't use the mouse in the menu, and that you have to use keys such as 'enter' and 'backspace' to flip through the menu or if you want to save.

Its completely clear that this game has been produced for consoles only, and poorly copied to a CD Rom to be played on a PC. Pity, as I like the action in the game (and therefore will probably still play it for a week or so)... :-P

I just picked it up for $20.00 from Target. My computer is only a year old, and it is slow as hell.

I think I need a "3d hardware accelerator card" for it to run, any idea on how much that will set me back? :???:

Hmm, I tweaked the settings and tried the Autobots this time. Seems fine. Plus I have my recoil controller programmed to play it just like a PS2. 8)

im sad. I wasted 20 dollars on it instead of waiting for getting enough money to buy the ps2 version. : (

It does that repeating thing. *sigh* and like sometimes the actions don't...work at the time i press the button. : (

Ps2woooooo....

:-x I had Shockwave within an inch of his life, and he took off a last time and I couldn't catch him. I only had 3% of the city left to work with, so I lost by default, which is BS, but whatever.
