likewise

What's the Nissan deal? I haven't heard of that yet.

Old, you'd get a copy of GT4 Prologue with Nissan only cars when taking a testdrive (GT4 is from, 2004? 2005?) that's some €20~ish value right there for taking a testdrive.

Now. .on the Alternators.. at least a Megatron should still be doable right?

An Escalade?

Heck .. maybe even as a Skids retool

Another new mold, a Cadillac XLR, was also planned. According to Hasbro at BotCon 2006, the toy would have been Megatron, but when it was decided to put the Alternators line on an indefinite hiatus, the Cadillac Megatron plans never went beyond the early planning stages.

I just like my Megatrons a bit more badass..

I never knew about this. It's sad this new mold never make it.

A Cadillac XLR will be a dandy new toy. Even just for the car mode.

There were hints of a mustang repaint around the same time as the cadillac rumours. But I'm not sure if hasbro ever decided what character it was going to be?

Well, since Rodimus (Hot Rod) was such a hit at the 2007 SDCC, I think Hasbro will make more. When I was there, a rep did say that the line was not "dead", but on "hold". He said it all depends on how well Rodimus sells. Duh, Rodimus was gone faster than you can say "MEGATRON!". Also, I am sure Hasbro is aware of the prices the Alts are selling for on evilbay, and are cruising boards such as this one. So, I would not be surprised to see an Alt exclusive or two this year.

And if it is a repaint, I hope it will be the Acura RSX, or even the Jaguar. Otherwise, I really would like to see a new mold.

The Mustang mold  It takes longer to transform it than to repaint it. I think a Soundwave alt. would be cool but Animated already has a scion Soundwave so there he goes. The only one I would care to see is Megs and maybe Ironhide but he'll most likely turn out bad

Might have more of a chance at getting it via Botocn than a low producation run at general retail.

Besides, bashing Botcon is sooo 2007. :P

Whatever happened to that Blackarachnia Alternator? Didn't we see pics of an S2000 that was supposed to be her? And then there were the supposed larger size class of alternators that never came to be. So sad.

Nah. I saw that figure after Decepticharge came out. She was silver and purple.

and not G1!

anyway, this is from the wikia page, the colors were photoshopped from the Wildrider BT version.. so the only place where BA existed as an Alternator was in someones pants (presumably)

In 2005, the mold used for Alternators Decepticharge was presented as an upcoming release for the Japanese Binaltech line. Originally, Takara intended to name their version of the toy "Wildrider", but they ultimately had to abandon that idea because they couldn't get the trademark. Instead, they decided to give the toy an entirely new deco, as the Hasbro toy's deco didn't appeal to their ideal of "real-life accuracy". In robot mode, the toy was given a color scheme based on Transmetal 2 Blackarachnia, with the toy's name being changed to "Black Widow", Takara's name for the character. Though a bio and story chapter were written to accommodate it into the Binaltech fiction and Photoshopped images released through an online retailer revealed the intended color scheme, Takara ultimately decided to cancel the toy altogether, as they were fearing that another redeco (in addition to the upcoming Binaltech Asterisk toys) would be too repetitive. How the story would have dealt with this time-displaced character addition has not been revealed, and it is doubtful it ever will be. Binaltech author Hirofumi Ichikawa is unlikely to reveal confidential work-for-hire pieces, since he still works for Takara. Furthermore, plans to release the toy as part of a different line were never picked up again.

But it's limited. Basically, only to the people who can attend.

No, not really.
those items are still put up for sale on hasbrotoyshop.com if I'm correct. that means, that scalpersites like BBTS will put them on sale worldwide as well so they're basically available for triple the price.

Yeah. The price.

I thought Hasbro has a policy not ever to produce any toys made available at Botcon?

Correct, Hasbro has never retailed any Botcon figures. The leftovers are sold at the tfcc site. Stores like BBTS just sell their dealer allotment.

This would actually make a pretty good Botcon item. I think that is the only place we will ever see the unproduced Titanium and Alts.

Nice colour scheme, but that mold as a femcon? I think not! If people whinged about Override being a female in the US (and I think that mold really suited a female charecter) what on god's green earth would they have said to that?
