Did the Japanese Encore 2018 Air Attack have that issue?
Not that anyone's reported.

But Cheetor was a show character. The list is for non-show. And anyway, we have lots of Cat Transformers out there. There are 3 Snake Transformers, and one of them is an arms Micron. As the author said, NightViper does something totally and completely unique by turning a highly segmented lmtail into a paor of legs. Cohrada cheated by using thebtail as a whip arm and has a stub left as a compromise. Night viper has 4 proportionate limbs. And he was only a scout class figure. That deserves recognition.

its not the fact of a snake alt mode that bothers me but the robot mode just looks dumb almost
as dumb as beastmachines silverbolt
now colada from beastwars neo looked cool if only they used him for nightviper

Speaking as one who owns both Colada and Night Viper, Night Viper is leaps and bounds a better toy than Colada in so many ways, and that's because Night Viper on its own is a really good toy in general while Colada on its own is really not a good toy at all.

Probably one of my favorite Beast Machine toys is Megabolt. I know technically it wasnt sold under the Beast Machines line but it was intended to be so that's good enough for me.

Yeah, I added Megabolt. Without a doubt the best of the Beast Machines Megatron figures.

While I don't always agree, I always enjoy these Top 5 lists.
Night Viper was one of the first non G1 Transformers I bought when I got back into collecting.

I must pull him and a few others out of storage.

Battle Unicorn is a figure I've always meant to pick up especially since I told my niece a while back that there was a Transformer that turned into a unicorn.

That comic scene back in the thread, with all the Vehicons reminds me of the PS2 Armada game with all the Decepticlone drones.

I look forward to your next list.

That's a great list and I agree on everything here, maybe except Jetstorm because I find him ordinary.
As for Battle Unicorn, this one achieved grail status with how little happen on ebay and each time it does, the prices are extremely high.

Blackie is the best Blackie toy and maybe the best fembot ever. Sexy, not kibelly, not shell-formy, and the beast is just perfect.

As for Tankor, I'm not surprized at all. But what is surprising is how cheap it is. Anyone can get his own easily and that's amazing.

Finally, dat snaek.
I NEED DAT SNAEK! =P~

It's my taste and I stand by it, I think NIght Viper is an amazing Transformer. By contrast while I do agree that deluxe Cheetor's modes are nice, I find him really lacking as a transforming figure. You just change his head and stand him up, it's not very engaging. He is simpler than a cyberverse figure.

AllNewSuperRobot wrote:To me, they have True Cybertronian designs. Not remotely Earth-like in any way, the whole "Alien Robots" part of Transformers, fully realised. Atypical limbs, heads etc

Yes, that's what makes this line really interesting to me.

Rogue-Primal wrote:What about Universe Air Attack Optimus Primal. I know he's a late-comer but technically he is the closest to masterpiece BM Primal accuracy? Just Sayin' as it is.

AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Besides, being accurate to That design of Primal wouldn't get you in a top 20 figures. Let alone the top 5... >:oP

I quite like that Primal, I always thought it was a great toy. The reason it's not here is because it is not part of this line.

Great list as always! The only BM toy I ever had was Nightscream, who isn't going to be on any best lists any time soon (though I always found his perplexed headsculpt and happeh bat mode oddly endearing) but the ones you listed are all on my future want list. Blackarachnia is probably one of the best fembot molds we've gotten thus far, Tankor is just a stellar looking figure (I remember being wowed by the Universe version in a pack-in catalogue and being sad Universe wasn't released over here), Night Viper is insanely creative in every aspect, Battle Unicorn is just plain cool and the Deluxe Jetstorm mold IMO would be right at home as a drone in a Siege display. I still kiiiiinda want the Skywarp version, those colours are delightful.

Some I'd be tempted to list as (utterly uninformed) honourable mentions would be:
>Buzzsaw: Weird spring arm aside, this is a really cool looking toy. Intriguing transformation with the wings becoming the legs, looks really neat in wasp mode and certainly unique in robot mode. Also some really striking colours.
>Obsidian: Sure he's small and looks nothing like his show model, but he certainly looks cool. The big rotors actually look better than the show version IMO, and the colours are once again wonderfully vibrant. Also the option to have legs or the weird tail thing of the show is a cool touch.
>Spy Streak: Yet again, awesome colours (yes I do like lime green, how did you know?) and the asymmetrical design combined with the nice paintwork and awesome altmode make this a really sweet looking 'bot.

The only one of those I don't own is Night Viper. And yeah, I love them all. Really great list, and glad that Tankor made the top. IMHO he really is the best BM toy and a really kick-butt toy overall. That light-piping... :michaelbay:

While I respect your opinions, Will, this list is severely lacking Spy Streak and Airraptor. Both are fantastic toys that (to me, at least) are superior to Blackarachnia and Battle Unicorn.

It's all goid. Airraptor is a rerelease though, so he was never on my shortlist of toy's I'd put in this list.

I think I might have missed this list.

I will say I am glad nightviper made the list.

But I personally really enjoy Geckobot. That figure is a lot of fun, and the colors and lizard design are super fun. I like them a lot.

Hammerstrike and Buzzsaw are also pretty neat despite some limitations. The beast basics are some of my favorites of the line
