As Sergeant Slaughter was seen as one of the leaders of GI Joe, maybe Prime is an option here.

my only issue with that would be how tiny he'd be. The Triple T isn't a large vehicle by any stretch. Then again, neither is the HISS Tank. Guess I'll wait and see.

Triple-T is kind of small for Prime.

I’d say if we ever do get Prime, he should be the APC or maybe Sky Havoc.

At 3.75" scale, those are probably both too big to transform into a robot. Even if the APC isn't impossible, it would probably be prohibitively expensive.

The HAVOC is still my best choice for Optimus, but if they want him to be comparable to Megatron then I can't rule the Triple T out as I think the size is comparable to the HISS. But I'm old and those good ol days are faded....

Mind you, I do not follow GI joe at all, but based on what I was seeing on Twitter, I am going to guess the character for this 4th crossover figure is going to be completely random and not make sense, seeing as how the 2 that have come out and the 3rd rumored figure are not the best matches for the alt mode.

Truth be told, I think the character will be Prime or Jazz, just because those don't make much sense from what I can tell this vehicle is.

If it's really Sgt. Slaughter then I hope he comes with a fellow Sgt.

Sure, the bot would be a lot of green, but a white alt mode isn't unheard of for Hound.

Of course there's also the possibility that it's an entirely different vehicle unrelated to Slaughter.

I think Hound or Jazz would be awesome for the Triple T tank. If they made a collab for Optimus I think the Mauler tank would be a sweet contrast to the Hiss and Megatron.

Just gimme Skywarp as a Night Raven and Jetfire as a Conquest X30.

Those are all going to be too big. I'll be happy if we get one of the Seekers as a FANG.

What about the mini jet that came with the terror drome?

That would be the Firebat...therefore it should be Ratbat!

Or Mindwipe. The red would be about right for their color schemes too.

Of course, if Soundwave's the Thunder Machine, his cassettes should also be Dreadnok-related: Swampfire Laserbeak/Buzzsaw, Swamp Skier Ravage, Dreadnok Cycle Rumble/Frenzy/Enemy...

The Conquest isn't very big for a jet, it's a lot smaller than the Sky Striker.

Image

Sure, it's bigger than a HISS Tank, but so is the rumored Thundermachine. Plus it seems like at least one other person thinks it's a good idea.

Of course an actually figure would look nothing like that.

It might not be big for a jet, but it's huge for a Transformer, especially with that cockpit. The sweet spot for big enough to contain a robot and small enough to have viable engineering is very limited.

We could get Hound and Swindle as a Vamp and Stinger respectively, maybe an Armadillo (fancast Brawn), but aside from that I don't think there are too many other options. Where would the SHARC's view screen go? There probably isn't enough plastic in a Sky Hawk to make a robot.

If they could make the size work, a MOBAT could be a good engineering base for a Wolverine, CAT, and Mauler, but I just think they'd be too big. Smaller tanks like the Slugger or Persuader could work, but now we're getting into deep cuts that aren't likely to fly off of shelves. We might see a couple more years of this collaboration at best; the design philosophy of the existing figures are very restrictive and challenging.

Save ol' Sarge!

I have very low expectations for this new one. Hasbro probably has several waves of theese G.I. Joe X Transformers figures planned waiting to be revealed and released saying this is the "perfect crossover fans have wanted for years", too bad none of them are probably any good.

But on the other hand PLEASE SUPRISE ME! :BANG_HEAD: I-)

I see customs in the form of RID Deluxe Starscream into a Cobra Conquest possibly and Optimus Prime Rolling thunder could be made from a Frankenstein of CW Hot Spot and Onslaught.

I just had a crazy thought.

Like seriously out there (I hope).

We all know Hasbro loves their repaints/retools. There's nary a Transformer out there that hasn't been re-released in one form or another.

So I got to wondering how they could re-release the Megatron HISS tank. Well, what if it was retooled into Optimus Prime?

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Heroic Optimus can't transform into a vile Cobra vehicle, you heathen!" But the Joes often stole Cobra vehicles and reused them as their own. Half of Tiger Force vehicles were Cobra. And Cobra did the same. Python Patrol vehicles were a mix of Joe and Cobra vehicles.

Just a crazy thought I had while daydreaming about the Battle Force 200 vehicles being released as the Dinobots or maybe more appropriately the Technobots.

That's precisely what I've hoped for since H.I.S.S. Megs was revealed, since there is official precedent for Op having a red H.I.S.S. Tank alt. In the first Devil's Due Joe vs TF X-over, Cobra found the Ark and gave most of the dormant TFs aboard vehicle modes that matched their iconic war machines.

But every toymaker loves cheap, easy repaints with a valid precedent, so Tiger Force and Night Attack Optimus should be doable as well. And if Takara still loves chroming exclusive TFs, they should be the ones to do Sky Patrol, possibly as a Lucky Draw.

DD gave Starscream the Night Raven alt, the other Seekers were Rattlers, and some of the smaller Autobots became Trouble Bubbles, I'd have to check my copy of the trade to be sure though. But in addition to the Night Raven's size being prohibitive, IDR its drone being allocated a 'Con identity. Although if we're smishing together Starscreams from different eras, B.B. riding piggyback on Screamer would make enough sense...not that it'll ever happen.

Oh, and RodimusPrimeUkraine1 reminded me, there was 3rd Party Rolling Thunder Optimus Prime about 10 years ago. IDR the exact date, but I do recall it looking underwhelming.

Takara exclusive repaints, chromed variants, and Lucky Draw figures aren't a thing anymore.

You won't get the likes of those officially, the playstyle god these releases is that of the tf having the interaction with the joe figure. Then you have to figure size, while I bet hasbro would love to charge more, there's probably a ceiling for the price that they would want to avoid, which means limiting the size of the vehicles to those we've seen so far.

Well, if Hasbro can bring back O-ring Joes, and Takara can do an expensive Diaclone reboot, then all-chrome exclusives should be able to come back at the drop of a hat whenever a precedent calls for it. Sky Patrol would be a very obvious precedent.

And back to Rolling Thundermus Prime, I found a link to the sold out G1 color version of TFC Toys STC-01A Rolling Thunder Supreme Tactical Commander, just in case anyone curious could see how that might work without a whole gallery without it cluttering up this thread:

https://showzstore.com/tfc-toys-stc-01a ... p0416.html

Of course this will never happen at 1:18 scale, even if this subline starts selling like crazy.

I hope you get your wish that Hasbro does a Sky Hawk or SHARC Collab release, and that Takara gets back into the exclusive redeco game, and that that includes chrome, and that they release a Sky Patrol version of the mold. By my count, that's more than the three wishes that genies traditionally grant, but maybe you can burn one to wish for more wishes.

Ummmm...pretty much everyone in this thread is just spitballing ideas that probably aren't going to happen, someone else brought up the Sky HAVOC and the Night Raven which also got the chrome treatment, so I mentioned the subset of TFs that have historically gotten the most chrome. My apologies for responding to your brilliant observation that Takara hasn't done that in a while. Sheesh.
