That would be Galvatron from the Energon line. Available on eBay for a good chunk of change. :D

This needs to wait - first I need both Leader Megatrons.

Also... still wish this was voyager sized, the upcoming voyager seeker mold notwithstanding.

I hate to burst your bubble Mega-T, but that's an abandoned concept from a few years ago. :-(

yep. Unfortunately we don't get a new seeker mold yet. I mean, we're all still kinda recovering from the last one...

Kinda. I mean, we've been getting a lot of Seeker molds and a lot of uses from each one (save the Armada version) and I'm sort of glad that Voyager didn't pan out because of all that.... but at the same time I'd happily buy more Kreon Seekers (those're the only ones I collect anyways).

Well then. That's unwelcome news. Sigh.

Theres nothing thundercracker about this mold, starting with the fake chest cockpit. Even with all the retooling you still got a blue jetfire with a seeker head. And the pointless leader scale that scales with nothing makes it an even bigger joke. MP Hasbrocracker already exists. This thing didn't need to be created.

[quote="Va'al"]Via weibo user 板凳上的飞机, we have a small selection of images showing off a comparison between the upcoming Generations Combiner Wars Leader class Thundercracker versus its predecessor Legends class figure. As a reminder, this a retool and redeco of the first Generations Leader figure Jetfire - check out below how it turned out!

I will have both!

Here you go: (1:160)

Although actually, The Leader Class figs are not a perfect scale, and I think an HO scale Dog figure would scale very well and be visible enough: (1:87)

It's blue, has Thundercracker's color layout, resembles him physically, and it turns into a jet, fake parts or no fake parts. That's pretty Thundercracker if you ask me.
And the pointless leader scale that scales with nothing makes it an even bigger joke.

Not that Transformers has ever given a flying flip about scale, but jets are usually way bigger than cars, and a leader Thundercracker is about as close in scale to a deluxe car as we're going to get.
MP Hasbrocracker already exists.

This is a Generations toy aimed at 8-12 year-olds, while MPs are most decidedly NOT any of that. For kids, it's a big simple blue jet transformer, qualities with a lot of appeal. And since they're guaranteed to sell SOME, it's an easy way to get more money off the Jetfire mold. That's why it exists.
This thing didn't need to be created.

Does any toy really "need" to be created? Does fancy jewelry? Do computers? We have certainly created a need for all of these things in our culture, but fundamentally they're all fairly useless. Now, if we accept that we don't need but want Transformers toys, there's definitely some that deserve toys more than others. I'd like a leader Sky Lynx before a leader Thundercracker, personally. But between the ability to sell a popular comic character to collectors, a big blue robot jet to children, and the ease of retooling an existing mold into this shape, I can see why we got this instead of something else. You don't like it personally? That's fine. But don't turn personal disinterest into "it has no right to exist," which is the general implication of your post.

Agree with That Bot ^

I was planning on getting all three Seekers if they made the other 2. But then I saw that yellow prototype Starscream which they may release. So I'll be going for that.

They did a good job in remolding a lot, more than just the head.

I'm gonna hate myself in the morning but I'm not too keen with the retool. Maybe an upsized more intricately design from that legends scale. The Jetfire mold should have been left alone.

Though from an economic bottom line view point, maybe Hasbro and Tomy dumped oodles of cash in that mold that they have to squeeze it for all its worth to recoup the investment.

I prefer that other abandoned mold.

I mostly agree, although it’s a spot on seeker, reguardless of the cockpit... I see no Jetfire in this. However, I wish a different figure was given his slot instead... we only get so many leaders a year, and I’m disappointed it was given to Thundercracker as this will be his 6th release in the last 4 years, not including the Prime, Kre-O, and other releases

Would have preferred they remolded him into a cartoon accurate Skyfire, but that's one thing we'll never get unless they make a Masterpiece and they can do a lot more making it into a Seeker. It's not a bad representation of the IDW design, but deluxe would have been better to go with Starscream I think.
