I'm not too bothered by him being a SG character since he retains his G1 colors, and while I would have preferred a new head sculpt this one still works. In fact I would say HFTD Sea Spray's head looks more like an updated Octopunch head than it does an updated Seaspray head. I have no idea how whoever designed that tentacle deco didn't see the ducks! Now it's all I can see.

I'm a bit dissaponted that we aren't getting a new head sculpt as well but I do love the deco. I like this color pallet on him better than that of HFTD Seaspray.

It looks like there are 2 painted on tentacles tweaking his nipples.

This is extremely lame. No new head? No tentacles? Half ass paint job? And for the rcord calling a figure Shatter glass and giving it a lame G1 color does not improve the figure.

I agree that Finback or Submaurader would have been better choices for this mold.

Weak Botcon year. The irony is that Botcon hyped these figures two months ago saying that this would be the best year yet. What happened?

Maybe they were just really into the awesomness that are the molds of most of the figures. :-(

Well either way, this gives octo-punch a whole new meaning ;)

So does that mean Octopunch is the Japanese Version of the DonkeyPunch?

Sometimes I think TF fans find the pettiest s**t to whine and complain about.

1. Screw the SG concept, the red con sign matches the other parts of his body that are red nicely. There is always reprolabels if the red is too bright. Sounds like the same people that complained about Generations Thrust having grey con signs to match his grey wings.

2. Yall act like a 3rd party company wont make a new head for this figure ?

3. I cant remember anyone on this site calling for a classics Octopunch in 3 years, but when we get one, everybody has a complaint like if they gave any input to TFCC on this figure.

Just my two cents. Sorry if I sound harsh.

Yeah 'cause third parties go out of their way to release new heads for BotCon figures, just look at..

Oh yeah, there's nothing.

Am I seeing this right? Is Octopunch a part of the Shattered Glass Universe?

What if a 3rd party were to simply make a diving helmet to go over his head...would that suffice most of you? :)) :VEHI:

Im starting to land on the side of "This set is actually worse than the Stunticon Job set from last year... and it was Animated!" like Its a really good concept but poor mold choices and the whole SG thing is just weak unless SG becomes an actual main-line thing, which it then wouldn't be so bad to spend through the nose prices for them.

I'd agree with you, but the Stunticon set was probably one of the best sets released aside from Dawn of Future's Past and the original Shattered Glass box set.

But like you said, this year's set kind of sucks. I'm really looking forward to the Insecticon colored Junkions as well as SG Swindle. However, if the SG Junkions all have the same head sculpt, I probably won't get them.

I really think this looks pretty cool, but the duck shaped tentacle paint job is terribly distracting. I get what they were trying to do with the tentacle paint scheme though. I actually think the head is pretty well suited to the design, maybe more so than it was for Seaspray, though I still like my HFTD Seaspray ;)

I think smaller 3rd party companies like Renderform, Dr. Wu, and Maiden Japan are fully capable of capitalizing off of a small group of elite whiners who want a new $25 new bead for their Octopunch. But I think a helmet would make his head look too big, rather see a new head sculpt.

I'm just going to start fitting my Seaspray with a diving helmet now and wait until I have Octopunch to paint it. With a little creativity, I think I can work it into being a diving bell on his rear cargo bay in altmode. Should their be a chain on top or a hose?

EDIT: I just realized I'm up to making 4 tentacles, a trident and now a diving bell! Maybe I should just try designing it digitally and making it through Shapeways!
