Is Ravage actually smaller than the other minions in cassette mode, or are those pics misleading? From everything I've seen, they're the same size, but those pics threw me off.

Bummed by the yellow visor, but it's not the worst thing in the world. What I'm really concerned about is the matte grey color he seems to have. I can see Hasbro skimping on the silver paint, so I'm interested to see additional pics confirming this either way.

Acid Storm looks pretty good, outside of the green eyes (and mis-transformed wings)... looks like his head is getting swapped with an alt mode Thundercracker! Just hope an MP-11 molded Skywarp's in the pipeline, and my Seeker army will be close to completion (barring the coneheads, of course)!

:CON:

Why did they have to make the paintjob so Hasbroish ? Couldnt they just keep it G1 like everything else from the MP line ?

I impulse bought Takara's Soundwave .... seems like a poor choice since this'll be cheaper AND comes with all the cassettes. Still ... yellow eyes? Uh, this is cartoon based, Hasbro. Of course yellow eyes shouldn't be a deal breaker when the alternative's so pricy.

How do you mean? Soundwave looks very G1 to me.

And Acid Storm has had two notable decos, and this one is a fair halfway point compromise between each.

Oh no, yellow eyes are a deal-breaker to me. :\

I was so looking forward to this one...

Hasbro did an impeccable job with MP-10's eyes, why did they drop the ball with MP-13's?

Is it absolutely its final look?

*AHEM* Considering this deco makes Soundwave accurate to not only the original toy, but the UK comics as well, Hasbro technically kept this more G1 than the takara MP, which was only accurate to the G1 cartoon. The abbreviations relevant to his kids, therefore, go without saying. ;)

Unless they worked in an eye-color-change feature, like MP Grimlock? Yeah, didn't think so. This is gonna' force me to get the Takara version down the road as well, since I love Soundwave so.

Not sure ... I sent an email to Hasbro's PR company to see if they can confirm one way or another if he will have yellow (toy accurate) or red (cartoon accurate) eyes. I know a lot of you were hoping for red eyes.

I was hoping for yellow since I've got Takara Tomy's version. Kudos Hasbro!

Yeah, I'm okay with yellow eyes. I like red, but yellow's fine too. I loved Marvel UK Soundwave as a character and this toy will do nicely.

By comparison, Cartoon Soundwave was a hollow, empty shell of a character. :P

Oh c'mon guys, a much less expensive MP Soundwave and there is grumbling over the color of eyes? 8-} I simply see it as a true homage to the G1 and that's not bad.

What would be perfect is if there is a Grimlock gimmick and the eyes can switch color...just pure bad-ass! :VEHI:

Well... I actually like this. It is pretty... Sweet looking. Kind of sad that there isn't any erosion on the wings like FrenzyRumble did. That thing looked sweet. But this is cool, too, especially since I like the character.

Already got the Takara Soundwave, but this looks cool too. Glad I got the red-eyed one. ;) I wouldn't be suprised if Hasbro skimps on silver paint though.

Acid Storm is and always has been an easy pass for me, I'm just not interested in the character. The digital camo looks kinda cool though.

Those eyes... I am not sure, but I think I... like the yellow eyes. Much more reminiscent of the original toy, however Soundwave has red eyes in the cartoon, which is what this is supposed to be an homage to. Either way, I really want this.

Now.

ok after seeing these pictures im actually a little interested in acid storm, pricing will decide if i get it or not. And i really really really really want soundwave but im afraid of what the pice is going to be because of those stupid tapes, rather have had them sold separately so i could buy them a little at at time. Hope they relese the price soon so i can start saving, unless its ridiculously expensive then ill just go tell hasbro to shove it up their arse.

You're a brave man. I don't think I'd dare to attempt to touch-up a hundreds of monies worth of toy.

Since this figure was obviously sculpted after the cartoon model I think it should have had red eyes. Wasn't comic-SW purple most of the time anyway?

As everyone has already mentioned, the most notable difference are Soundwave's yellow eyes. However, it also seems to me that the "Rec/Batt" LED indicator is actually painted red. The Takara version (which I have) basically has red light piping but with no way for light to reach it from behind...making it look off all the time. Just as was the case between the Hasbro and Takara versions of MP Optimus' eyes, the Takara version is dead/off and Hasbro's is alive/on. It's surprising how little things like that make a difference, but hey, these are masterpiece figures after all!

I'm very happy to have my Takara MP Soundwave, but seeing as he's my favorite Decepticon I shall be springing for the Hasbro release too. I have held off on buying the Takara cassette minions because I knew Hasbro's was coming out with all 5. That right there is worth it to me! I'll likely display the Hasbro cassettes with the Takara MP Soundwave and get the best of both worlds! :D

Also, I hope for everyone's sake that the silver parts are actually painted silver and not a matte grey or just grey plastic! :-s

...but a cooler dad.

Hell, if they do a limited edition $500 repaint in bold, Yomotov purple, I'll buy that too! After all, if anyone really wants to be an originalist about media-accuracy, the U.S. comic debuted first...

Acid Storm, on the other hand, I would've liked to be show-accurate. I guess his Universe deco has had more media appearances, and he didn't have a name until that toy came out, and it would be too simple a deco for a Masterpiece figure, but I'd just love to see huge stacks of his blinding glory at every ToysRUs! Dreamwave Sunstorm's color scheme was the result of an experiment making him radioactive, so if that TF/DC crossover had come to pass, Acid Storm would surely have been explained as being powered by Kryptonite, justifying a show-accurate toy! (well, Hasbro wouldn't say "Kryptonite" on the box, naturally) Oh well, if I buy him, I can just soak in the irony of his looking somehow less G1 than the green CHMS rainmaker...

I knew something was different with soundwave... i still like it though, i feel like the yellow eyes make soundwave look more like a bad guy. But i like the red eyes too.. an eye color changing gimmick would be convenient, but obviously that isn't going to happen. Depending on the price i might pick this up which will be my first mp figure. (should of been tru prime.... still regret not getting it to this day. I hope for a re-release ASAP)

Acid storm is nice. I think he would look a ton better if there was more of the green to yellow transition to give it more of that "acid" look. Both figures are fine though. Now takara... let's see these new figures and not not some silhouettes!

Im good with Soundwave. I was referring to Acid Storm's paint scheme. MP is supposed to be G1 accurate. Not this crappy neo paint job. I can understand the classics mold, but why screw up the MP ? CHMS got the colors right...
