Huh, I think it works better as a Sandstorm mold. I'd still rather have Springer as I remember his character.

well done has tak! When i saw the mockup fake redeco of springer I thought that would be the way they'd go to save money. This is as good as if not better reuse of a mode than wheeljack/tracks and sunstreaker/sideswipe.

I will definitely get him - now all we're missing is a broadside, though a voyager astrotrain would be nice too as the original generations figure would benefit from the designers' new experience. Also right now, i'm not too impressed with the 3rd party broadside

An absolutely amazing remold. Took a figure that was mediocre* and redesigned it into something so drastically different that it's really a brand new figure. Kinda like how they made the Jet Vehicon out of the regular Vehicon.

I am so impressed with this work.

(*=in my opinion, I don't want to hear how wrong you think I am. Just...don't. Save it. You're entitled to feel differently.)

Wholly agreed. I was not expecting to pick this up, but he is quite an impressive piece!

Damn you, Hasbro. My wallet is already screaming for mercy...

I was a little uncertain about Sandstorm being a repaint, but pre-ordered like the good little addict I am

After seeing those images am I loving this remould! Can't wait to have Sandstorm and Springer standing side by side :KREMZEEK:

I'm happy and sad about this. Its an extensive retool for sure and looks beautiful in car mode. I'm not sure about robot mode. Springer was already already a bit bow legged and now this guy has so much mass on his upper body and his legs look diddy.

But overall this is great news, I will finally have all 6 triple changers and hopefully someone will discover a fan mode where the kibble is obscured or displayed differently.

Springer remains an easy pass, this guy however will look great alongside Defender. The mould never sold me on Springer, this was the intended use all along as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah.... It's kinda hard to unsee that now.

But HOLY CRAP what a remold!!! That's very impressive. I was expecting a couple of the wheels to be bigger than Springer's based on the Metroplex boxart, but damn!

yeah, based on the Metroplex box pic, I was expecting a better buggy mode, but wasn't prepared for the level of alteration in robot mode and all the extras. It's not above and beyond, but it does beat the poor expectations set over the last few years where retools and repaints were often very minor. I love the Springer design, so was pretty much on board for this guy before these pics, but damn! that is some nice work. More of this level of retooling and we'll be able to get a lot more interesting and exciting new characters out of similar base toys.

Only thing I'm worried about now is TFsource getting the Blitz/Sprung wave in stock and then a week later putting the wave with all three up for pre-order and only letting us take Sandstorm as part of a set of three.

Holy crap. This thing is amazing! What's next? a retool of Blitzwing that makes him Sixshot?! that would put a damper on Hexatron's sales that's for sure.

Now that's what I'm talking about! :APPLAUSE: That's the kind of retooling I really like. Sure, Sandstorm isn't his own mold like in G1, but it comes pretty close.

The head looks like a blend all his incarnations:
- G1 toy helmet shape
- G1 cartoon mouth
- Machine Wars (aka Rotorstorm) headcrest

If they try to tackle Sixshot, they had better not use Blitzwing as the parent mold.

Blitzwing as Flywheels, I'll take and buy on sight, but downgrading a Transformer with six modes into one that has only three is a big no-no in my book.

As a life long Sandstorm fan I am so glad he is at least getting a retool rather than a repaint. He's a little too yellow rather than orange and I would have preferred a headsculpt that was either toy accurate or show accurate, but other than that I'm impressed. Changing from a helicopter to a transport plane makes sense both for the character and for differentiating him from Springer, and I'm glad they finally remembered his vehicle mode is a dragster custom rather than a dune buggy. Already preordered him and don't regret it.

Now this is what I would call "not Sandstorm". Ill buy it just to replace GDO Sandstorm. But this lame retool is just more ammo for Fansproject to get it done right.

I know right ? Everyone is just dying to have a teal Blitzwing on their shelf as Sixshot. I can see those Hexatrons warming the shelves the same way Quakewave did. 8-}
