Not true. This new Heatwave is much bigger than the original (roughly the size of the old nontransforming Electronic figures, or the big Optimus that came with the Rescue Trailer), turns into a very different-looking fire truck, and has a completely different transformation scheme.

Not to mention that we are getting a new character (whether or not he'll be in the show is another issue).

Image

And this Heatwave is a new mold, priced at $19.99 that is considerably larger than even the larger first 2 years of Rescue Bots as shown in this picture. Masterpiece Soundwave should demonstrate the considerable size difference along with Medix.

Man, I really need to do a Rescue Bots gallery marathon to get that line current in our galleries.

It is a retool of the original, up scaled. No different than they did with Chromia with Prime Arcee.

Energized and the originals were the EXACT same molds with clear parts. The point is it is the same old figures being released over and over. They are starting to put the ROTF line to shame....

$20 price point? Ouch. It is BIG though. Maybe seeing them in person will help with the price.

If so, I will only get Salvage. My boys don't need yet another Heatwave.

WTF?? Did they hear me or what??

Now, I am officially happy. Better if it had a new name, but I will take it! :D

Awwww. Come on. Salvage should be in Junkion colors.

Put out a repaint and I'll buy it no questions asked. Same for all the other oddly colored dump trucks.

Same goes for all the motorcycles.

Prime Arcee to Generations Chromia was a retool, yes.

This new Elite Rescue Heatwave is not. It is a brand new mold in and of itself.

I agree. Junkion colors would be awesome!

Seibertron actually has it and said the same thing, so I would assume I am wrong. It looks the same though, which is enough for me to pass. Doesn't mean my boys won't try to ask me for it if they see it a retail though... ;)

I guess Salvage will be my boys "Omega supreme" of the group, since it is so big.... :D

The hell did Blurr come from I don't remember any listings for him?

Then again that's just Blurr being himself.

Sorry for asking a dumb question, but what is this tiny Crosshairs (line?)? I suppose I'm a bit behind on my toy releases, and I couldn't find him with a simple search. Any info appreciated!

Thanks,

MutantDinosaur

EDIT: He's totally from the Q Transformers line, isn't he? derp...

Some Takara only line called Transformers Q or something like that.

Yeah, that Q line... while a bit of a random collection... is really cute. I have the first wave. They're all manual transformations, and a few straight-up G1 bots are included. Prowl and Sideswipe are almost spot on like the G1, but others fudge the transformation a bit. G1 Prime, Wheeljack, Hound, Sunstreaker, Bluestreak and load of others are on the way. Good fun.

Back on target tho, may pick up that Prime. Looks like a good representation.

No Salvage at my local Target. Hell, no new transformers in general. Just the same RID figures warming the pegs. And blank spaces where the generations stuff goes. What irritates me is that every other toy line has their new stuff out.

While it makes sense I still hate that they did that with Blurr.

Only because it makes sure he wont be in any shows.

Says you, that's an out-and-out reskin of Chase. Same transformation, same parts arrangement. Of any of the new Rescue Bots, He and the new Minisub guy (who appears to be using Heatwave's boat mode) would be the two easiest because the animation framework is already there. Remember, they pulled the same trick with Ultra Magnus in TF:Prime.

Still odd how the character design on the packaging artwork and the toy's design don't match each other, after all this time of us getting character designs homogenized between the packaging artwork and toy appearances.

Fellow Seibertron.com member and podcaster ScottyP has just sent us a tip about some interesting Transformers: Rescue Bots figures showing up at his local Target in Raleigh, NC. As you can see in the image below, he has found the new Boulder and Chase toys, plus a first sighting of Rescan Optimus Prime, and Salvage, for $9.99 each! If you spot these in your area, make sure to flag it up in the appropriate section and forums to help other collectors out.

Salvage has a strangely compelling design. On the box art, that is.

Salvage is pretty fun. I've also noticed these latest ones feel hefty for their size. They'll probably hold up a lot better for their target audience then the mini-Dinobots did last summer. Oh man, the Amazon reviews for those things, wow. Bad.

I picked up Boulder & Chase yesterday. Unfortunately, they are junk. Both are EXTREMELY THIN and lightweight. They are also VERY small. And Boulder has one of those horrible transformations like Underbite and the mini Heatwave Apatosaurus.

I will probably pick up Salvage and Blurr, but that is all. Poor quality and a $2 price increase is inexcusable.
