One problem with ordering from TRU.com

Just got a box from TRU with my AOE figures!

One minor complaint: the figures were packed in such a way that the card backs were curled. They weren't bent or creased, so they can be flattened out again, but as someone who saves cardbacks, it still annoyed me. Especially since the box was big enough to pack them without bending them, if the person had only arranged them differently. And there was no bubble wrap or padding of any kind.

The only reason I even point this out is because it's in contrast to BBTS, who typically take much more care in packing shipments. I also got a package today from BBTS with Legends Cosmos and Swerve, wrapped carefully in puffy bubble wrap like they were shipping fragile china.

Thing is, BBTS is a collector-oriented business and as such knows their wants and needs, including the wish for pristine packaging upon arrival. Toys 'R Us on the other hand could care less under the "Everyone throws the packaging away, why are you keeping it?" excuse. But something tells me you already knew all of that.

Still, judging from their handiwork, it's still much better than what Amazon can come up with. I'm recalling a case that somebody got a box that was twice the size of the figure.

It's true. I got GDO Brawl from Amazon and his card back was crumpled to crap with a huge sticky patch on the back where a sticker had been taken off. Um...thanks?

Same thing happens at TRU. I got year of the snake MP Optimus and..... the box could fit at least two in there.

Was there at least padding of some sort?

A few air pocket bag things but not enough so that the content doesn't move. strangely the MP box was fine. pretty mint even.
