No stalking required. It'll be available for months (or years) to come, and will end up on clearance sooner or later.

What makes me think Seibertron.com's own Rotorstorm came up with this idea?

Ok, before I give my opinions there's something I need to say, the term "Hair Metal" is derogatory slur created by Rolling Stone magazine and the Alternative music scene to deride and diminish the work that 80's Hard Rock musicians did to bring some joy to the world. I'd ask all of you to please refrain from using the term, instead the terms "Melodic Rock" or the aforementioned "80's Hard Rock" are acceptable. As a fan and a musician I thank you.

Now about the set, oh boy, I'm not sure if I love it or hate it but wow. Clearly Prime has to be based a bit on the Ultimate Warrior as the hair and tassels match some of UW iconic looks. Laserbeak's pain job is based on Eddie Van Halen's red and white "Frankenstein" guitar. The tour booklet cover is based on the picture from Iron Maiden's single "The Trooper." Ratbat appears to once again draw from EVH and his "Yellow jacket" guitar from the very early 80's.

You could use WFC starscream with the cockpit (no pun intended) reflect the double deep V

Yeah, good luck with that, it'll go over as well as trying to eliminate CHUG as a term amongst this fandom despite its actual racist meaning.

Also, the actual statement in Rolling Stone derided the bands as "hair farmers", the public actually came up with the term hair bands due to it.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!! I don't want it, but it's still hilarious! :D

War for Cybertron Optimus Prime, Megatron, Soundwave and Fall of Cybertron Jazz have been repainted, given hair (yes hair), and paired with Transformers: Animated Ratbat and Laserbeak to form the metal band Knights of Unicron!

Hey now, that's mislabeled. That's Fall of Cybertron Optimus Prime.

What? I agree CHUG is a stupid anagram, but how is it racist? I mean it looks like chug, as in chugging drinks at the pup. But I fail to see how that could be racist? Or does it have another meaning besides drinking where you live?

Wow, never knew that. So this means that every time someone asked me that that awesome music was I was listening to, I was insulting it. :BOOM:

Damn, just realized, this was the perfect opportunity for using Music Label Soundwave, with an SD featuring a joke recording by the band, or generic crowd sounds.

It's also used as a derogatory term for Native Americans.

It's a little sad that you don't think this is going to sell super fast, because I have no doubt that it will. Who woulda guessed that there would be a large amount of crossover between people who grew up in the 80s and listened to this music, and Transformer fans.

I'm with you, I think this'll go really quick. There's a lot of 80's nostalgia out there, doubly so with Transformers. It really seems only the internet TF fans hate it, everyone I've shown it to thinks it's hilariously awesome, TF fan or not.

Brutal. Those two FoC molds were shelfwarmers, I bet if you alcohol wipe or scrape off their paint, you'll have the original toy colors underneath.

Seibertron wrote:So is this supposed to just represent generic 80s hair bands or someone in particular for each figure?

I bought the little Linkin Park figures for the Linkin Park Soundwave set for the gallery and I'd like to do something similar for this set if I can find some Action Figures or toys that are what these are representing.

some of the old Warhammer 40k Slaanesh Noise Marines would be quite similar.

I know everyone's saying Ultimate Warrior for Prime, but the red and silver pattern and the heart symbol make me think of Shawn Michaels.

I don't know what to feel. One side of me says, "This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen, what were they thinking?", but the other side says, "This is the most ridiculously awesome thing I've ever seen, what was I thinking?".

I'm a very conflicted individual.

I like that as its the 30th anniversary they are using the unused Rockformers concept from the 80's 90's.

Once you get over the knee-jerk reaction and see it for what it is, (a fun convention exclusive) the set begins to grow on you... even if it is completely stupid.

It's still more dignified than anything Michael Bay has ever done, at any rate.

I want it! I need it! I must have this!!
I would actually consider selling a body part to get this. Maybe not one of my own but I'd sacrifice some poor schmuck to get my hands on this set.

I've seen some half-hearted attempts at cool, exclusive sets. I've seen some downright hideous attempts that fail at whatever attempt at coolness they may have been trying for but this... this is over the top. This is the "go big or go home" attempt at outlandish and they nailed it! And I absolutely love this set just for that fact!! :P
