I like Dropkick quite a bit too. I've always had a feeling he was based somewhat on an aborted Soundwave design. The head sculpt is very evocative of the character. Plus, wasn't Soundwave going to scan some sort of pick-up truck mode in the first movie, before his part was re-written into Frenzy and Barricade?

Armada Hoist. Sturdy, awesome, and just fun to fiddle with.

Not sure if he's underrated but I really love Animated Deluxe Jazz. Articulation, crisp paint, and clever weapon storage. Awesome.

As far as I heard, Animated deluxe Jazz is considered one of the best. Blurr to but I don't understand why. I hate his look, his desing, his hood-weapon, his pannelly arms...

One that is not mentioned often is Animated Oilslick. Because he's not a popular character and not many know he exist I guess. Still, that mofo is one of my favorite deluxe TF ever!. And he's cheap too!

I've a few nominees myself:

Encore Ironhide. I had Ratchet as a kid and was underwhelmed by the no head thing though he still got a lot of play. A few years ago I picked up the third party clip on head set and I was blown away. I ended up buying Encore Ratchet and Ironhide. The heads were cartoon accurate and in scale with G1 Prowl and co. Ironhide has long been one of my favourite Transformers character wise so it was great to see the G1 toy resemble his cartoon self. The battle platform is nice and his arms have some nice though limited movement. Plus I love the wrists.

G1 Seeker mold. I know the robot mode is essentially a brick but I love it anyway. The jet is a nice size. A lot bigger than the Classics version. It's a shame they didn't paint the faces though for some reason the Coneheads seem better that way, more menacing and seem like they'd make good army builders probably because the unpainted faces take away the character. It does annoy me when I see people posing Ramjet and co with the cone up in bot mode. Just looks silly to me.

Titanium War Within seeker mold. While I don't like the grey heads on Starscreama and Thundercrcaker, I love the black head on Sunstorm. The whole colour scheme looks great on him. I love the alien jet mode and the blocky bot mode which is surprisingly poseable. Wrists!

I think it might be because his vehicle mode looks like the Mach 6 Mach 5 from Speed Racer.

That's certainly why I want one.

You need to delve in to the history of some toys, you find some neat surprises now and again, like BotCon 2006 Dinobot:

Believe it or not, I already knew about that.

I assumed the headsculpt had been retooled from the original, but clearly it wasn't.

Yeah, it's a surprising case of using parts from both versions of a mold: Armada Hoist's head, and the arm of the retooled Longrack. Doesn't happen that often :)

Welp, I believe I've found my favorite underrated figure.

It's this Cybertron Snarl I just got in the mail. Putting aside the fact that his aesthetic is awesome and his articulation cool, he's the only Cybertron toy I know of where there's a place to store the Cyber key without having to put it into its activation slot.

I also like how his tail weapon is both a sword and a gun.

Oil Slick is truly excellent. :D

I think one of my favourites of all time are the PCC commanders, especially the Decepticon deco/molds.
I have a weak spot for Scout class Brimstone, too, my personal avatar in some parts of the boards.

Easy. Spray paint Cybertron Megatron's vehicle mode in black and there you go, the Batmobile!
Cybertron Starscream have a very triangular body, so, Doritos Starscream (instead of tacos). ;)

I love that mold as well, but as you might guess, I'm a sucker for wolves. ;)

Also, the repaint as Weirdwolf for BotCon 2007 works amazingly well. I'd invest in it for your classics shelves. You can even "Insert post on tail/thermal sword into hole on wolf rump," just like the original toy!

Weirdwolf is one of the original deception headmasters from the G1 toyline circa 1987ish. He appears in The Rebirth three parter of the G1 cartoon series as well as appearing in the Japanese only The Headmasters series.
...
I also like Wolves :P

First off what an amazing anagoly of it I had a doritos locos taco when i was typing it so it seemed right. They seem underated but i love them mostly because they were my firsts of the characters.
