Walmart Exclusive Velocitron Line Discussion

So about 2 weeks ago, following all of those leaked listings, credible leaker Catz posted a thread on TFW, here (although it's almost 100 pages long at this point, so I will summarize anyway): https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/ ... o.1219231/
In this, they say that Beast Wars reissues and the Shattered Glass line are to continue, they've heard nothing regarding more G1 reissues, and most interestingly, there's going to be a new Walmart-exclusive line/subline to fill the void left by the Netflix releases. Through this, along with cryptic hints, clues, and confirmations from JTPrime/Notomus/CactusReporter, the users there seem to have deduced that his line is going to be based on Velocitron, but basically in the same way that the Chaos on Velocitron set was, in that it's mostly just a bunch of random bots collected for a race and not only UT/Cybertron characters.

From there, the following hints/info was given/deduced:
-It's an 8 figure wave with the same breakdown as the first 2 Netflix waves, although the leakers are unaware of the price points for the Voyagers and Leader (so unsure if they come with additional smaller figures like Cores or Battlemasters as the Netflix ones did)
-At least one of the figures is a new mold that will at least start out exclusive to this line (kinda like Origin Bee)
-All of the figures have wheels except one
-The line is going to have 2 G1 characters, 2 Diaclones, 1 G2/Robotmasters character, 1 RiD character, and 2 UT characters
-No Seekers
-A bunch of the figures are repaints "you would have expected them to do already"

With those clues in mind and some further hinting, the users there have come to the conclusion that this is the line-up (although the leakers have only explicitly confirmed the bolded entries on this list to be 100% accurate guesses, the rest have merely been implied to be right)
Deluxe: Burn-Out (from Legacy Skids, obviously), Clampdown (uncertain if Siege or Kingdom Lambo), Road Rocket (new mold? If not, suspected as a Legacy Prime Arcee retool), Cosmos (new mold? If not, suspected as an Origin Bee retool), & Armada Blurr (assumed to be a Legacy Pointblank retool)
Voyager: Hauler, Override (as an SS86 Hot Rod retool)
Leader: RiD Scourge (from Legacy Laser Prime, obviously)

Now obviously none of this is 100% confirmed to be happening until listings show up, but considering how many of the credible leakers were talking about it, I figured it was worth sharing with y'all (and I made this thread rather than use the Legacy rumors one since this is so far stated to be a separate line as Netflix was).

Thoughts?

As long as Blaster isn't a Walmart Exclusive I'll be fine. I definite would be keen on Cosmos, been contemplating on whether to buy the Titans Return figure or wait.

Damn... why does Scourge always have to be an exclusive?

Would it kill them to release a R.I.D Scourge to general retail?

Also, not sure how you go from this:

Hot Rod

to this:

That seems like massive amounts of retooling to manage that.

Not a fan of these kinds of rumours. I'd rather they just tell us what they heard or saw.

Blaster has listings as both a Kingdom release and a Legacy release, he should be decently easy to come by.

I'm fully expecting that the resulting Override is not going to be 100% accurate to the original by any means, I figure this'll be more like that 3rd-party figure that did Override from Rodimus, where it'll still visually look like Override but with different details. Someone on that TFW thread attempted to drawn an interpretation of how they think it could look, and then later reposted it on its own as fan art: https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/ ... d.1220135/
If that drawing is what we get (which I doubt), I would be on board, although honestly I might get it no matter what just because I crave any kinds of UT updates.

Still, you'd need to retool the chest to make it into a faux cockpit. Retool the legs to make them rounder, and give her a new head entirely at the very least.

It sounds like a fun idea. As much as I would like a new Override, I'm not a huge fan of the Studio Series 1986 Hot Rod mould, so unless they do something really good with the mould I may skip it. I had the original Armada Blurr when I was a kid, one of only a small handful of Unicron Trilogy toys I ever owned, but I gave it away recently so it would be nice to have another one.

The only Cybertron figure that should be retooled from Hot Rod (aside from Shattered Glass) is Hot Shot. [-(

Update: one of the leakers has now confirmed that this guessed lineup I started this thread with is 100% the accurate line, albeit with one caveat. While they have access to the names and the molds the figures are intending to use, they cannot confirm if Blurr is actually his Armada design or his Cybertron design, just that it is one of the 2.

Also, considering we now have the knowledge that a Selects Clampdown is coming, I'm assuming this Clampdown is going to either be a different deco from normal (like Netflix Deep Cover) or use the Siege mold where the Selects figure uses the Kingdom one (or vice-versa).

Those 2 blurs are based on the same mold so it's not like it would be a huge difference.

Also according to a new post, they'll be calling RiD Scourge by his Japanese name Black Convoy to minimize name reuse, I guess.

Same mold, but with different color schemes, head sculpts, and different accessories (differently sculpted guns and a Mini-Con vs a Cyber Planet Key), and one was an actual show character while the other was a cameo. I'm assuming of the two they would go for the actual show character over the cameo, which is what I would want since Armada Blurr is awesome and Cybertron Blurr is boring, but it's not a guarantee, so I wanted to make sure that possibility was reflected here.

New Walmart Exclusive Velocitron Line Rumoured for 2022 + List of Other Retail Exclusives

We have been sent a list of upcoming toys for 2022 and we are breaking them down per line. Of course, since we only have listed names from ordering sheets and no actual listings, you should take these with a grain of salt.

This list below is for the new Velocitron line from Walmart which will be made up of redecos (at least mainly), similarly to how the Netflix lines. These are characters from various lines and it is unknown which molds they will use (though Clampdown should be from one of the Sideswipe molds).

We also have various retailer exclusives which are broken down by retailer. Target is getting MPM Blackout and Walgreens is getting Minerva. There is also a new Shine line that will have vs packs.

Velocitron

Deluxe:
Tra Gen velocitron Burnout x2
Tra Gen velocitron Road Rocket x2
Tra Gen velocitron Blurr x2
Tra Gen velocitron Clampdown x1
Tra Gen velocitron Cosmos x1

Voyager:
Tra Gen Velocitron Override x2
Tra Gen Velocitron Road Hauler x1

Leader:
Tra Gen Velocitron Black Convoy x2

Walgreens:
Tra Gen legacy Dlx Minerva x8

Target:
Tra Gen Dlx Red Card 1 x8
Tra Gen Dlx Red Card 2 x8
Tra MPM Blackout x2

Tra Shine:
Soundwave vs Optimus Prime x2
Bumblebee vs Starscream x2

So, will this be the first official Hasbro Transformers toy released at American retail stores to bear the name "Convoy"?

I'm going to be really disappointed if Minerva really is a walgreens exclusive. Being in the UK, the walgreens exclusives never seem to show up, I had to import Ratchet back in Siege. Hopefully, Pulse UK will stock it so those of us outside of the States have some kind of chance to get one.

This year's Walgreen's exclusive, Red Alert, did make it to the UK, and at brick-and-mortar to boot. I found mine at a comic book shop in Birmingham called Worlds Apart, but even then, he's still available on Hasbro Pulse UK. I think the same thing will happen with Minerva, she'll pop up in a few smaller retailers like Forbidden Planet or Worlds Apart, and have a listing on Hasbro Pulse UK. It's clear that Hasbro have learned their lesson from the Amazon exclusive Earthrise box sets, because it's a lot easier to get exclusives now than it was a few years ago.

For the figures listed here, I am interested in Minerva and Override, but seeing as Override is going to be an extensive retool of Studio Series 1986 Hot Rod, I'll wait to see how that actually turns out before I commit to buying one.

I honestly completely forgot about Red Alert. I forgot he was even an exclusive considering how relatively easy he has been to aquire with a lot of online stores stocking him, never seen it in stores but then again the closest to me that might is Forbidden Planet which I've not been to in a while. Hopefully it's a ttend that will continue. Some of the older exclusives are showing up here to, with the Rainmakers coming in stock online frequently so at least Hasbro aren't completely ignoring their European fanbase

With the voyager case count being 3, I'm wondering if these will have normal voyager and leader price points now, and no extra battle masters for the voyagers and no extra thing buried in play doh for the leaders. I believe the netflix voyagers were 2 per case, so this could be a change. Or, it could just be another mistake on the case counts.

Netflix Bumblebee wasn't a recolor of a mainline figure, so maybe Road Rocket and Cosmos will be new molds too. On the other hand, Netflix Bumblebee's mold did not get a recolor as anyone else, so that sucked (really wanted Glyph).

I think he means it's a 1/Case Walmart exclusive G1 figure.

I'll be interested to see Override - I'm guessing she'll be a retool of SS86 Hot Rod, which will be different.

I think the licence issue may have prevented anything other then a 1 time use for the mold (hence why we got that bee in the worlds collide set)

At least there won't be anything stopping Cosmos from getting re-issued.

I was meaning the hardest to get hold of especially as there's one per case. :-(

The VW license is a pain seems to be restricted/limited to bee and no one else.
