G1 Targetmaster weapons - suggestions needed.
Posted: Wed Jun 01, 2022 1:19 amHey guys, I am on a collecting spree to create the season 3 and 4 cast of the G1 series, generally just the Decepticons for the moment. I am using the Earthrise Scorponok but mainly all of the titans return figures as the headmaster and targetmasters.
I’m trying to keep it authentic, so getting targetmaster weapons for Triggerhappy, Scourge etc. Seeing as all of the targetmasters have been redone as headmasters, I figured why not add weapons to the actual headmasters to keep it a more universal theme.
I’ve found the recent battlemasters to be a nice throwback, but given they are all mainly recolours with only minor retooling, using all the different colours of them just looks generic and a bit crap. To that end I’ve been trying to source other mini-cons and other transforming weapons that would fit as targetmasters with what I have.
This is what I have so far and I’m keen to get any ideas of what would work better, ideally trying to keep them colour matching. I’m only finding weapons by accident looking through previous lines with one off releases, added mini-cons etc.
Scorponok – Too big to hold a weapon beyond something like Combiner Wars Shockwave
Lord Zarak – Armada Overrun & Primemaster Octopunch
Fasttrack – Rung & Primemaster Bludgeon
Apeface – Titans return Apeface
Snapdragon – WFC Firedrive
Weirdwolf – Powercore combiner Airlift (I think) with Generations Supressor mounted on top
Mindwipe – Generations Spinister
Skullcruncher - Primemaster Skullgrin
Scourge – Generations Holepunch
Sweep – Generations Blazemaster with Sweep weapon mounted on top
Cyclonus – Generations Nightstick
Triggerhappy – WFC Blowpipe (who else)
Slugslinger – TBC I want the targetmaster version as this solves the issue however V expensive
Misfire – TBC as above
Dreadwind – Currently being used as a limb for Grand Galvatron
Darking – Currently being used as a limb for Grand Galvatron
Terrorcons – Combined
Clones – Not yet sold on getting them but ideally should do for a complete Season 4 cast.
I am waiting on a decent shelving system to display them all on, so currently they are on my floor being added to as eBay boxes arrive so excuse the poor display, but hopefully you get an idea of what I am working with.
