That IS the entire point. ;)

You could always check out my picture above, and pick the "Sideswipe " you want.

Also, Gigawatt is pretty nice and would fit in a G1/WFC collection. It's also still easy to find.

Kinda digging the one with the large scratched out auto or symbol. Which one is that?

I think I can plus up my seeker lineup. I have Earthrise Starscream and Siege Redwing. Any suggestions? I kinda want Hotlink, but people want a lot for him... skywarp is ridiculously priced. Is there a mold variant as well?

The Sideswipe you're talking about is the set of Shattered Glass Sideswipe with SG Rodimus. A pretty cool set despite the high price. At least shipping will be much more reasonable for you as an American. It's a Pulse exclusive.

https://hasbropulse.com/products/transf ... on-whisper

This Sideswipe will also become Armada Wheeljack sooner or later, what he's truly supposed to be.

As for the seekers, try getting the Siege Netflix Sparkless Seeker. He's cool and his price should be reasonable.
At worse, Amazon's Nacelle is a good option.

So, I have an aversion to clear/translucent plastics. I have Kingdom Wheeljack and Siege Spinister unopened. How concerned should I be? Keep in mind a young child may try to manipulate them, and SS86 Jazz has been a problematic "off limits" issue [nothing more desirable than what you can't have - young child tantrum].

You should have no problems with Spinister. However, Wheeljack may be a problem because of those two clear triangle windshield parts that pop off too easily. Clear or not, that is a problem.

Thanks so much! Shame... I'd really like a solid Wheeljack and Jazz. My Netflix WfC Bumblebee has clear plastic but appears well-built.

The old Generations Wheeljack is pretty nice AND is solid. Plus, he should be dirt cheap as an "outdated" toy.

I'm probably overlooking it, but I know you really like the Skids mold. Can you please tell me how well your think it would hold up to a young child toying with it?

Depend how young. A toddler should only play with Rescue Bots, but a 5/6yo and over will have no problem with Legacy Skids. Appart the inevitability of losing the guns, of course.

Also, what do you think about that old Generations Wheeljack? You asked for a good Wheeljack toy, I suggest one, but you didn't tell me your thoughts about it.

I guess I'll have to keep an eye out for the guns if I get Skids.

That Wheeljack does look solid! I was hesitant to pester you with scaling questions, such as "How well does that generations Wheeljack scale with the War for Cybertron SS86 figures?"

Huh... huuuhhh... and I literally just bought Kingdom Red Alert [although the old one does look derpy in bot mode]. I don't really care for either Kup, but that old one does look interesting/unique.

Seriously considering Generations Wheeljack. Height looks good. He's a little bit wider and thicker than I'd like though. Are there any other Generations that come with your highest recommendation? I'd sure like a solid Jazz and Ratchet... Thanks!

Despite the clear plastics, you can't go wrong with Generations RTS Jazz. He was THE classic Jazz for nearly a decade.

As for a Ratchet, you really only have ONE option. Get to it before it's too late!

Huh, I'm surprised the reviewer likes the Studio Series Jazz... even calling him "sturdy"? :-?

I can't say I'm really fond of either of those options. Maybe I'll wait it out for a non-clear plastic Ratchet like the recent Ironhide & Prowl set [sold out at my Targets - replaced with the troop-builder 4-packs :-( ]. Have you tried modding your Ironhide and Prowl yet?

Anyway, I may be encountering some buyer's remorse/fatigue. I did, in the past 2 weeks, buy the following afterall:

Kingdom Red Alert
Titans Returns Seaspray
Titans Returns Cosmos [I had the G1 toy and felt nostalgic after picking up Seaspray]
Kingdom Cyclonus
Premium Finish Siege Starscream [$40 at Walmart and I only had the Earthrise mold of him]

Thanks as always!

In the USA, they sell the Premium Finish line at Walmart?
Surprising.

I will only buy the Dead Ironhide & Prowl set on clearance Because I already have Ss86 Ironhide and I'm satisfied with him. And for some strange reasons, I don't fear his clear plastics. That's why SS86 Ratchet is also on pre-order.

BTW, 8f you want a G1 Jazz without any clear, you have ONE option. BWBB Origin Jazz. He's pretty awesome.

Yep!

"Also, the hinge that connects Jazz's vehicle roof to the rest of the backpack may cause the translucent blue plastic to crack, especially on the knurled side of the pin." :(
https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Jazz_(G1)/toys#Buzzworthy_Bumblebee

Sigh... I guess I'll have to live with what I've got. Really tempted to pre-order the SS86 Ratchet, but even PrimeVsPrime mentioned the clear plastic issue. /Shrug

I think the clear/translucent plastic and gold plastic syndrome really touch upon the original intent of this thread... well to avoid such frail figures.

I probably should have made mention of the above (although at the time I only knew about GPS), and I probably should have scoped it to the Prime Wars trilogy, War for Cybertron trilogy, Legacy and Studio Series 86, with some exceptions for specific characters as is the case for my Takara 2010 Unicron with the intent on a smaller-sized G1-themed collection comprised of toys that look good together and can stand up to the abuse of a younger child.

Well, they are not supposed to.
Especially since the original BZ is plagued by GPS.

Still, I'm not ruling anything out because GPS cases goes as recent as Unite Warriors Motormaster.

Ugh, now I'm concerned..

Sigh... I guess I could sell my Black Zarak+Roritchi+Upgrade kit and get Earthrise Scorponok, Fasttrack and the two DNA kits... ugh... that would be at least $450 though... eBaying it may be a pain because no one likes to pay shipping. Thoughts? :(

I wouldn't worry about any GPS on Roritchi or BZ.

I think the "possible GPS in 20 years" is just a pretext you tell yourself.

The kit you REALLY want is ER Scorponok and FastTrack, with the first 2 DNA kits if possible. So, just get what you REALLY want.
NOW.
It will be expensive, but it will be a price to pay.I will be STILL CHEAPER THAN IF YOU WAIT ANY LONGER.

Meanwhile, keep all the BZ stuff sealed and stored in a dry and dark place. Keep it for at least a decade.
Only then, either open it, or sell it. It will be worth much more.

In this hobby, sometime, one must bite the bullet to get what you really, REALLY want.

Oof.... crippling indecision.... I don't really have the room to store Black Zarak and order Scorponok [I tend to keep boxes]. I can't say I'm keen on spending more money at the moment... but my goal is to have durable, long-lasting figures... need a magic 8 ball that's not random.

Lemme tell you.

I've been collecting since 2009. Since the years, I had toys that are nearly indestructible. Some other aged badly. Not counting clear or gold plastics. Some toys in supposedly HARD plastics ended up shattering like glass when things bent the wrong way. Others, who seemed "cheap" have the same feel as if they were bought yesterday.

You can NEVER know how a toy will age. No matter what it is.

So, I say "F it" and I just enjoy the NOW. :michaelbay:
