My experience buying MP Megs

Well, I finally decided to enter the world of online transformers buying because I decided that I needed MP Megatron. Purchased it from Lost and Found Toys. I was looking for feedback on them from others about two weeks ago, but didn't really receive any, so I thought I would post about my experience. I emailed them in advance to make sure it was in stock, and got a quick response, and was even told that their latest shipment was unmodded, which sold me on it even further. Decided to order Encore Ratchet and Ironhide as well since it only added a couple bucks to the shipping, and their prices were fairly competitive. My package arrived yesterday, nicely packed in bubblewrap, perfect condition (although I somehow put a small crease in Ironhides box already). The company had great service, and communication, and I was impressed and very happy to finally have MP Megatron. Just thought I would share my experience.

On Mp Megatron, the small plastic clips on the thigh plates break easily and so do the small clips above the trigger halves. The paint beneath the feet of my Ironhide reissue already is chipping due to siding his feet on the sled panels. Luckily it didn't happened to my Ratchet reissue. But I won't be putting either on the sled anymore. I won't transform them either. Use caution.

^thanks for the tip, thus far I have been strong enough to keep the Encores in box, and have not yet found the urge to transform Megs, just posing him his joints seem really tight to where I feel like he would be easy to break.

Look our for his head too. When placing the "G1 head helmet" on top of Megatron's head it WILL scratch the head's paint/plastic.

Here's some helpful tips. Broke one hook clip on one thigh plate by yanking the legs down like the original Megatron. You can't do it that way on Mp Megatron or it breaks easily them two small clips. You've got to separate a bit his folded arms from his chest first ,and they unhook easily. When changing back to robot. Wish I would of figured it out sooner. One of the thinner front clips above the trigger I broke too. I forced it a bit when connecting with the square hole above it when transforming to p-38. Now it doesn't hold up in p-38 mode from beneath at all. Also be careful with the elbows. You got to raise his arms straight if you do it with his arms down the plastic will chip on the elbow everytime due to colliding with the elevating metal hole shoulder slot. I don't want you to have the same dis satisfaction I had in less of a week when I bought him. I suggest not transforming him he's quite fragile. He's more of a display piece than a toy. Honestly I appreciate the original Megatron toy more. Despite of the robot's thigh flaws ,and the trigger in between with the barrel folded beneath to the side of his torso. Atleast the p-38 is more smaller and looks more genuine.

I'm in the US, I got mine right off from an independant seller so it was unmoded.

My general opinion, nice, but fragile. No match for MP Prime which is sad cause I always liked Megatron better.

The transformation is increadably intricate, but they should have made the spin parts thicker.

Kept behind glass though, he does alright, he even keeps some good poses, still I fear the fragility. So that in itself to me makes it a masterful figure, but not a MasterPiece.

Enjoy him as I do, I hope one day soon he is revisited and retooled.

You're right. You've got push his face inward first when putting the upper helmet down. I wouldn't mess with him. It took me a couple of months to get over the pain ,and spare parts for him right now aren't easy to find. If I end up fixing him I won't mess with him anymore.

I guess I've been really lucky with my MP Megs. I've transformed mine several times with no damage, and I didn't really take any special care other than following the instructions and trying not to force things. Guess I better knock on some wood, although I don't plan on transforming him again since I've heard so many horror stories and I really have no desire to have him in alt mode now.
