Im not sure how I feel about KOs. On one hand I think its shameful that these people can copy another designers work and then blatantly sell it but whenever I go into a newsagent or £1 shop I always keep my eyes open to see if they have any, although I haven't bought any yet.

I am amazed that they are allowed to get away with it.

Oh he's leadtastic. I went to the Taobao site and found the auction. He is indeed plastic and die-cast. You can see where the paint thins out in certain spots.

Also, his facecover is chromeplated.

Here's the link: http://auction1.taobao.com/auction/item ... 958d.jhtml

So is that page all knock-offs? And if so, is the MP-01 trailer that they have a picture of at the bottom of it a knock-off of a knock-off trailer? If so that is getting sick.

Some of it is legitimate stuff, some bootlegs and the trailer is the one from Justitoys. No bootleg of a knockoff.

After falling for the crap that Hasbro was selling in the movie line, I'm wondering if these KO's are of better quality. You can't get much worse than some of the ones I've had, both KO's and Movie.

Sad thing is I like Soundwave. Get some dynamite or a nice firearm....

I've known about these for a while now. You can't escape KO's.

I even email HASBRO with links to where these are being sold, they said thanks and that they'd look into it. This was months ago.

Hmm, maybe you should mail Takara Tomy instead since they "live closer" to where these KOs are done. These things are like a plague getting out of control... It's getting insane IMO.

TAKARA TOMY and HASBRO are partners. They'd notify each other of a problem if need be. Besides, HASBRO knows these KO's are all coming out of China, the masters of KO's, and they also know they are not only getting ripped off, but stand to lose major money to them.

I know that, it's just that I think it's better to tell both or to the closest company. Anyway, they should do something... and eBay is so contaminated by KOs that they're very easy to find. Though finding who's producing them I have no clue.

Well, eBay really can't do anything about it. They say they have rules and crap but all you have to do is word the auction a certain way and you can sell them. Like do a search on ebay for "Conversion Robot" and you'll get all KO alternators.

And so far the thing is since its coming outta China they can't stop production. Best they can do is seize shipments coming out of China and thats next to impossible.

Then might I suggest you remove the site text from the images, and also not upload them directly from the website in question? :?

Now the big question, where can i get these besides eBay?

I'd love some K.O. Alternators and MP prime for some "projects".

Some of those K.O. BT Prowl, Swindle, Skids etc. without the big shipping costs.

Has anyone seen any of these in the U.S.? Specifically in Philly??

I don't see the issue here. If Hasbro and Takara are "dealing" with this issue as they say they are then who are we to debate that. The best course of action for us the fans is to boycott such items and not give them airtime on the forums or news threads.
Another issue here is how do we define a knock-off ?
How many of us have the WST Dinobots or the add ons for the Masterpiece series and the Classics Cliffjumper ? Or even repro parts and stickers ?
The various coloured mini bots from Argentina and Mexico, are they to be classed as fakes ?
By definition according to these forums they would be classed as knock-offs.
They are not produced by Hasbro or Takara, they are not I dont believe licensed by either so are they knock offs. Is it a quality question, if they are an exceptional copy then does that make it ok ? Copies and knock-offs will always be around, there are even some sites out there that list them as odd balls or variations, some even collect them as they would originals.I myself dont have a problem with them, I even have one or two in my collection. I will, if I come across one, get the Masterpiece Prime copy.
Well, thatsmy first post over with.

I agree completel with you vault. I happen to love KO's but not the ones that are rip offs, the obvious ko's that are different colored and just all over horrible toys. They're great to practice repaints and what not.

By the way

Some of these KO's are actually not too shabby. And I'm not too picky about such things.

I like KOs as well and not all of them are garbage. I like to buy them for repaints and customs.. Also some people dont have the cash to dish out for figures like some of the alternators , so a KO is the next best thing.. I would love to get me some of those MP Prime KOs .. Can anyone send me some links on where to buy these KOs posted ?

At least they look like obvious knock-offs. The KO BT Skids posted in an earlier thread can fool anyone though.

Okay, they have knocked off Classic Starscream. For those wishing to see the difference, it's most easily detected by the lack on blue on the hands and feet. Here is a comparison:

Why beware getting a KO Prime? You all should know that if there are no Transformers writing and it's mostly in chinese/Transformer style writing/or any other writing, that means it's fake. If you don't know hiw to differentiate a KO and the original by the box, don't call yourself a Transformer fan! :BOT: :CON:
