dont think its photo shopped there is a flash spot which means someone actual took a pic of a real box .

He means the image itself was shopped by Hasbro. Because they always do that for their production shots. The figure won't have all that nice shading and such when it's in your hands.

Actually, Takara designs the movie toys in grey prototypes, and they send them over to Hasbro to have them painted by hand. These models are photographed for the back of the box. That's why they're always different.

I know this because I have met the man who does this.

This Prime is great! Good thing I saw this before I went out to buy Premium class Prime. It looks complex to transform. The feet aren't the grill anymore, its actually separate. The panel on the arm suggests it is the hood of the truck. Part of the legs also form the hood. I don't think that there is a bulky back just panels flat on his back. Part of the smokestacks are detachable. They must be pegged somewhere on the shoulder. There is still a hole at the back for a possible trailer attachment. A voyager Jetfire could possibly be the one to combine on Leader Prime. Anyway overall its fantastic! But Hasbro might release a better Prime when the 3rd movie comes out so I guess I'll wait. :APPLAUSE: 8-} B-)

I will be buying this Prime. The robot mode is very well proportioned, and how can I say no to his 2 deadly swords of death.

However I will be waiting for either a sale, eventual 2 pack with Jetfire, or the TF2 version of the "premium series". You can only fool me once Hasbro!

That will be 2 Evil....and probably be a Toys R Us Exclusive only with either brighter new decos or battle damage apps on them:lol:

I agree. I didn't think Hasbro could outdo the first movie Prime, but it looks like they did.

Again thanks to anon we can have learned a few things about the toy.

You can see that it is most probably mistransformed in the foot and lower leg sections.
I also want to point out that the wheels on his waist look like they will be placed like in the movie once correctly transformed.

Oh and again thanks to anon we now know that the back will look quite movieish:

Best damn Movie Prime.

Thank you anonymous. :APPLAUSE:

Meh. I'm fine with the previous Leader Class Prime I've got. I'm kind of tired of this whole Movie business, with the continual 'better' releases of the same character. Maybe if they changed the paint job and got rid of the silly flames, but for now I'll skip it.

thank you. finally somebody with a little sense. i'm tired of their being 'better' releases of the same figures too. the first movie taught me a lot, but it looks like the cycle is about to start again with some of the other/previous posters. i may have missed other comments that had some sense, because it just wasn't possible to make it through six pages of people getting all wet over a new Prime that is likely going to have three or four updates within the next year and a half anyway. silly. waste of time and money.

I don't give a fu** if Hasbro makes a better Prime after this one.
I have the first Movie Prime I will be getting this one and I will be certainly getting TF3's Leder Prime.
They all have their charm. The only time I wouldn't be buying it if it were the same toy as TF1.

What really puzzles me is that I'd be far more pissed off if all the ROTF toys were repaints. New molds? Fantastic!

Yea actually they are complaining that it's a new mold aren't they? I'm sure that if it were a repaint the same people would be pissed that it wasn't a new mold.

Pretty silly when you put it like that, isn't it? "Bloody Hasbro, putting out fantastic new molds!"

Hasbro should just settle on one mold, and repaint it into every character forever.

I've generally disliked all the movie designs save for Optimus, but the first toys didn't appeal to me.
This badboy on the other hand will be making its way to my shelf!!!
Nicely done Hasbro!! :D

No, I have most of the Primes, but I don't buy simple repaints like the entire "Premium" line from the first Movie. If it's supposed to be a new character I care about (seekers, etc), then I will buy repaints. If I'd known they were going to do that I might have waited and not bought the first release, like I did with Jazz (got the G1 repaint instead). Now I know better so I'm going to be a lot more cautious about the next Movie line, because I know if I buy something Hasbro's just going to release it again with something else added, and I don't have the money to buy both.

My point is, it's still Optimus Prime with the same robot & alt modes, they just engineered it better...which they could have done the first time. As it is, I'm satisfied enough with the first Movie Prime so I will pass on this one for now, and see what happens with future releases, or pass on it altogether if time doesn't convince me I want it.

I'm a collector on a budget, I can't afford to buy everything they put out.

that really is the point! i'm not going to run out and immediately buy the "new" optimus prime just because they made a couple of changes here and there. oh wow, they changed the color of his hand! oh gee whiz, i gotta buy another leader-class figure, because now it has a chrome grill! Ooooh Ahhhh, did you hear that hasbro is going to release an OP with working windshield wipers? it is going to be called "Rain Driving Optimus Prime"! give me a break. no wonder hasbro releases what it wants without any apparent regard to what collectors really want, since the collectors WILL buy anything that comes to the market-place. pretty damned goofy.
