lol... I was going to give you a hard time about the inverted colors thing but you seem to have caught yourself on that one.

I recognized the style of the white gun instantly, just couldn't remember exactly which Spychanger it went to. I have no less than 3 of each Spychanger with the exception of Optimus which only had his G1 colors and the Scourge repaint (to the best of my knowledge) and X-Brawn being my only "single" out of the lot, and the guns all ranged predominantly between black, white, yellow and gray with Crosswise actually having a red one with one of his repaints. Took me 3 years and hitting stores covering a 150 mile radius from where I live to track down as many as I found but once I started collecting them it became too much fun to quit before I had exhausted most of my resources. Still have a few to go but finding the older ones is going to get expensive.

I'd imagine it's something like collecting mini-cons, so I think I understand how you feel, though I typically keep a tight rein on myself.

It's a Techno Spawn figure. Gray Thunder is the name.

Hello,

I have a curious question...

I just recently bought an MP-4 Transformers Masterpiece Perfect Convoy.

Just wanted to check with others, to make sure this is the real deal.

Most (if not all) Masterpieces have a shiny coating over the image of the character on the front of the box (both robot and vehicle).

However, my MP-4 only has a shiny coating over the image of the truck (not the robot).

Is this normal?

Thanks.

Is this some sort of SNARL variant. I found the Armada Class Snarl here which is the same exact mold just different colors. Anyone have any idea? Thanks.Image

That would be Universe 2003 Dinobot Striker, based on the Beast Machines character (who may have relations with G1 Snarl).

For further Transformer ID questions I'd suggest going to TFU.info and bookmarking it.

Is this Starscream. I'm looking on here at the Energon version which I thought it was but there are some differences. Not even sure if the big sword is his but that's how I found him.

Double edit:
OH, I was right the first time....mostly.

It's TAKARA's version of Energon Deluxe "Energon" Starscream. Called "Nightscream Rebirth."

You're missing the big gun (cast in the same trans-blue), the missiles, and a yellow version of Insecticon's drill weapon and Energon Star.

Did you just come across that? I'm incredibly jealous! I've been wanting the formerly mention Energon Energon Starscream, and this version looks even better than Hasbro's!

Nightscream Reverse, though the kana by themselves can also spell out "Rebirth", that was probably the intention.

Thanks, and yeah I came across him on craigslist along with about 50 other figures from around the same time period, lots of energon and even a couple G1's... got a pretty good lot for the price.

That could be the Cybertronian Bumblebee from the Rage over Cybertron set. He came with slight redecos of Optimus Prime and Megatron from the same line. Here's a linkie:

Rage over Cybertron Bumblebee on TFU.info.

I'll second Jelze's very educated guess.

And by the way that set is awesome. I have it and the Megatron repaint is the best of the bunch.

The pic on TFU makes it look really bright yellow, when its really a more muted Mustard Yellow in person.

Ok I can't find any info on this guy, first he's not a Transformer (it's pretty obvious) and he doesn't have any marks on him so I'm not sure where to look. He was in a collection I bought not too long ago.

He turns into some sort of grasshopper thing.

Oh and the pink next to him isn't him but a "converter" figure.

I looked at Google images, and actually found a minor hit in an EBay listing of all places. The colors don't really match, but that's to be expected of a Knock-off.

The lead was a toy set of three insects with Hispanic packaging, which included a Mantis which this guy resembles in the instructions.

And on the second try I get an instant hit. What are the odds? Not the same, but the sculpt was used for at least one Knock-Off, Quick Change Mantis:

I had something similar when I was a kid. It transformed into a dragonfly, but I don't remember the name though.

I had/have a bunch of those somewhere as well... I suspect they haven't held up to storage and age as well as my real Transformers, maybe I'll take some pictures if I find any that survived decently. :P
