Kup: http://www.hasbro.com/common/documents/ ... 40F892.pdf

Scourge: http://www.hasbro.com/common/documents/ ... DB88D4.pdf

I'm thinking Gears from Kup. Not so sure on Scourge, maybe Leozak?

The head on Kup looks very plain like not even Hasbro is sure who it's going to be. The head on Scourge definately has an animal look to it.

In additional to the head Gears alt mode would match up pretty well. As for Scourge it almost has to be Leozak, it looks just like him. Seems like an out of left field choice though :???:

I totally agree, it looks almost exactly like Leozack. It's just very strange choice for a mainstream release in the U.S. Takara can get away with it in Japan and Botcon can too since they cater to collectors with their figures. I just can't see Hasbro doing it. That's a good call on both figures.

That would be cool, but it REALLY looks like Leozak. Not that it would stop them, but they already released Ratbat as a Sideways repaint in the comic two pack with Springer.

It looks a whole lot closer to Leozack than it does ratbat.

I dunno, I just went back in and zoomed way in to get a better look at the face and it does resemble the comic Ratbat quite a bit. Not to mention Hasbro seems to be taking a lot of ques from the IDW comics lately for the Generations/RTS figures.

I am not familiar with that version of ratbat so I guess it could be. I was thinking along the line of G1 Ratbat.

The helmet even has the pieces that come aound over the cheek area as well as 2 teeth on top and bottom plus the single eye/visor... Leozack has a a huge mane like a lion on his helmet, where this one does not...

Alrighty then, I see where you are coming from.

Definitely Senator Ratbat from Megatron Origins. I can see where people are getting the Leozack vibe, but the key difference in the head designs are the sides of the head/helmet.

Senator Ratbat's helmet has vents that are more so like your standard seeker helmet. Basically it is a rectangular box with vents on the front.

Leozack's helmet is meant to invoke his connection to his breastforce beast partner which is a lion. So the sides of the helmet are modeled after a lion's mane.

I like the choice of character for the Scourge mold, but to be honest I had money on Devcon, since they both have blasters coming out of the top of their heads.

However, I wouldn't count out Leozack just yet. Since people are already confusing one for the other, I think the mold just needs a a good paint job to be Leozack. After all we're getting a Blackshadow, so one more Japanese character wouldn't be a stretch.

So....Botcon releases that have become redundant due to a general release figure coming out so far:
2005 Ironhide
2005 Ratchet
2007 Springer
2007 Thrust
2007 Dirge
2007 Huffer
2009 Kup
2009 Scourge
2009 Banzaitron
2009 Leozack

I wonder which character Hasbro is gonna steal some thunder from Fun Pub next? Perhaps it will be Skyquake? Granted in most cases, the Botcon version is the much preferable figure, especially with Ironhide/Ratchet, but still. Seems kind of a waste with that many repeats between the two entities. Perhaps Fun Pub should exclusively focus on new, original characters to avoid these continuing overlaps?

Or more quirky takes on the franchise, like the Shattered Glass set. Or maybe they'll leave G1 altogether and focus on other TF franchises. Hmmm like importing Masterforce series? I think an Overlord for Botcon would totally rule, all they need is a Tidalwave with a new head sculpt. Minicons would make decent Powermasters. Also, They've haven't taken Leozack just yet, that's Senator Ratbat for now.

Possible Remolds of Kup and Scourge Revealed

It's happened with Tomahawk, Terradive, Darkmount to Skullgrin, Lockdown to Axor, Bumblebee to Cliffjumper, and Thunderwing to Black Shadow (Cross your fingers), so why stop now? Instructions for both upcoming Generations figures, Kup and Scourge, have landed on Hasbro.com. Seibertron.com member El Duque notifies us that their heads certainly do not look like either Kup or Scourge, so we can only assume that these instructions tell a tale of a future remold. Check them out below!

I hate to say it, but for some reason the not-Kup head reminds me of Hot Shot.

Fools!

It's Orion Pax!

As for not-Scourge, I don't know. Leozack, I guess. Go Leozack.

Almost reminds me of Armada Smokescreen/Hoist. I could also see Gears in that head... and that Orion Pax (or Optronix?) guess could be interesting, as well.

"Kup" could be the Action Master Kick-off.

I'll thrown my hat in with the Senator Ratbat crowd... but the Kup remold's too vague to make an informed opinion on, it really looks like it could be just about anyone (well anyone with a round-ish head)

I don't get a massive Gears or Orion Pax vibe from the Kup remould. Any other ideas? Is there a Micromaster pickup truck somewhere?
