I just realized I had his original toy as a kid... would love that toy in animated style. Wish animated would get some sort of revival.

beast machines megatrons. proper ones.

control harness megatron that transforms into a scarred up dragon. arms and all in harness mode.

Image

megahead megatron that transforms into that strange ship (and not a silly robot).

Image

and then optimal megatron sans gorilla head (though i could just remove it myself if they actually made it lol)

Some Quintessons would be cool. They'd have to dial back the loud colours and general 80s ness a bit, but I reckon some proper gribbly Gigeresque Quintessons would be awesome.

A G1 style Scorn. Spinosaurus was a badass dinosaur, and Scorn was pretty awesome in AOE. I reckon he'd look good in G1 style next to the other Dinobots.

Speaking of which, properly scaled Dinobots, with a fairly small Swoop, fairly average (Voyager at maximum) Slag and Snarl, big Grimlock and GIGANTIC Sludge, who turns into a Brachiosaurus covered in turrets. In addition:
>Grimlock would transform like his G1 counterpart but with the jaw shoulderpad thing of AOE Grimlock. Also he would have a properly positioned (not upright) Tyrannosaur mode.
>Slag would have a transformation much like his AOE self, but with the G1 "Dino skull cowl" thing. He'd also come with a mace, and his Triceratops mode would have a sort of glowing magma effect in its belly (basically orange light piping).
>Swoop would have a less blocky and ill proportioned Pteranodon mode.
>Snarl would have a fairly similar transformation to his G1 self but obviously more involved. His vanes would be more pronounced and he'd be able to use the end of his tail spike...thing as a flail. Also, chrome up the wazoo even compared to his friends.
>Sludge, in addition to being colossal, would turn into a Brachiosaurus instead of an Apatosaurus. In Dino mode he would have a fully articulated neck and tail, and would be loaded with weapons, turrets, compartments and spikes. His transformation would be a mix between the AOE toy and the G1 version. His tail joints could compress somewhat, locking the tail together and deploying blades along its length to form a gargantuan zweihander.

y'know something i thought of? i can almost guarantee theyll never make a G1 arcee.

sure we've gotten some arcees, and now even a G1 styled arcee is coming down the pipe. but the character will still be missing in our G1 displays. im talking a plain looking, barely posable arcee to stand with our G1 movie cast. thats the day i dream of.

A prototype was made though, and there was that suggestion of a Headmaster Chromedome repaint.

yeah thats what im talking about! kinda like how they gave us orion pax/dion from kup/wheelie. i would totally buy a repainted G1 figure as arcee, if it had a new head of coarse.

I see what you did there.

It's true the G1 design and look is particularily coarse.

So, based on your idea, how about G1 Blurr repainted and with a new head for a TRUE G1 Arcee?
Feast your eyes on this quick shoop I made:

Image

I'd be tempted to build it myself, if only the components werent so expensive.

Considering they don't transform convert, I was surprised when they actually released one as part of the Energon line.

I never got the appeal of the quints, but I do want alpha q for my energon stuff.

Speaking of energon, I'll probably be alone in this, but I want to see them take another go at the combination gimmick of that series, just done differently like paired partners and new engineering tricks to avoid having too big legs etc.

I like them because they're basically Transformers (albeit usually not transforming) as imagined by HR Giger.

This. I'd be happy to have the gun-hands TBH.

Looking at it, a remold would work well. Move the pointy airflow sensor from the head to the backpack, reshape the front fenders into more Arcee-like curves, shorten the nose-shield hood (or have a short nose shield which swings/slides up to cover an open cockpit).

If a designer wanted to get fancy, they could add front wheels which pull in under the hood, rotate to lie almost flat, and which ended up sitting hidden in the open cockpit in robot mode. The arms of Blurr's robot mode, which made up the car sides, could then point straight up in robot mode and swing around to sit behind the shoulderblades, and thinner robot arms could fold out from them (similar to Counterpunch's) to act as Arcee's arms.

If it's going to be kitbashed, there's no reason additional articulation (swivels and ankle joints) couldn't be added to the legs, and Blurr's design doesn't even rule out a waist joint.

Perhaps the most interesting bit - as the head would be hidden completely in robot mode, a Headmaster unit could stay in place during transformation or separate to become a driver.

What I'm about to say is probably not original, but simply a bit modernised.

Dinobot Paddles.

I believe most Trans-fans are oblivious of the mere existence of this fellow. Unique among the dinobots not simply because of his little publication and exposure, but also because of his status as an aquatic dino. Nonetheless he'd make an interesting addition to the Dinobots.

But why stop there when you can do more:

TRIPLE-CHANGER Paddles!

Imagine a Voyager class dinobot with four flippers that are well articulated, allowing for some dynamic and powerful poses. and then POW! You fold in the flippers and fold out the four legs! Your Paddles trashes the decepticons as a mighty sauropod! Whether in the sea as a plesiosaur (Cryptoclidus was on my mind) or as a Diplodocus on the land, your Autobots are reinforced by a new mighty Dinobot!

Okay, so my presentation sounds like a bad commercial, but other than that I'd REALLY love that figure. Of course, the changing of dino-modes would require some fiddlyng and the scale would be awful (not worse than Astrotrain or Broadside)

So, what do you think?

Was he part of the dinos released in Beast Wars Neo? I can't say I've come across him.

As a matter of fact he was, as the Seasaur part of Magmatron.

Actually, Paddles was only ever mentioned once, as part of some obscure short story. I think the parts of Magmatron aren't actually individuals.

They do: Skysaur is the "Quetzalcoatlus", Landsaur is the "Giganotosaurus" and Seasaur is the "Plesiosaurus". Don't ask about where the Latin names are from.

I always found the concept and execution of the Skylinx toy to be stupid and ridiculous. This, coming from someone who makes customs like the ones in my sig!

However, I<m really, really curious how Skylynx can be modernised and be made awesome. This should be a Titan toy made out of two Leaders figures for starter. As for the rest....

I think a Leader made of two Voyagers would be more likely. No need to inflate his ego any more than that.
