I'm not complaining about the plastic or the size. I just think that FOC Jazz's legs are stumpy. VERY stumpy. RTS Jazz has MUCH better proportions.

It's not the plastic or size that's bugging me. They just have a hollow look and feel to them. I think a little more weight would be great. And I completely agree about Jazz's stumpy legs.

Oh hell with it,I want all the Dinobots now.

I have MP as my Classics Grimlock, but this one looks pretty good too. May well pick him up. It's the other Dinos, in particular Swoop and Slag whom I'd like to see get toys. It is awkward though, as they're all dinosaurs, all have the same colours and could look very similar on shelves. It seems like Hasbro try to gear their waves to have some variety (and a couple of Bumblebees) in each assortment, so it could take a while for new Dinos to get released. During which time Hasbro could easily get bored and just repaint something else.

Thats another problem. Not a whole lot of repaint fodder. I suppose they can repaint Grimlock as any of the other T-Rex types, to varying degrees of success, and if they go cartoon colours for Swoop, an all red version could work as Terrorsaur. Of course, they could just go crazy and give us each one in some random colour schemes like they're doing with Bruticus, so who knows.

I still say our best chances are for the others to be Deluxe sized, with maybe Slag and Sludge getting Voyager treatment, if any of them do.

I think you hit a lot of things right on the money, especially about not having enough repaint fodder. I'm hoping they all the Dinobots.

Dinomask wrote:Now that I've gotten FOC Optimus Prime, Jazz and Shockwave I think the Shockwave is the best one to have. Hasbro is cutting back a little too much for my taste.

Shockwave's easily the best of the three. Yeah, his legs are a little hollow; but part of that is to accommodate the integration of his gun into his vehicle mode; and I think that integration is very well done (as is the way the gun can attach to his arm rather than his fist).

Compared to Optimus and (especially) Jazz, Shockwave's plastic feels pretty solid. And he's an excellent translation of the WFC/FOC character model. I like this figure a lot; I think it's the best one I've picked up since RTS Lugnut.

FOC Optimus is alright. However, the Deluxe shrinkage is more evident on this figure than on either Jazz or Shockwave. To a great degree, he's a let down simply because he's not nearly as good as WFC Optimus—and I'm not even talking about the character design. Apart from being significantly smaller, the red and blue plastics on FOC Optimus just don't look nearly as nice as the ones used on WFC Optimus.

Jazz is the biggest disappointment here, mostly because his white plastic feels really light and cheap. But I also think the way his forearms tab in in vehicle mode is a really poor design. And there's the issue with the empty space around his head.

I have a feeling that the Masterpiece Thundercracker is going to be a bitch to find.
