Hot Spot had fireball canons. The missle launch weapon should have been red/orange.

My only guess is that he doesn't have one here since he isn't a new reveal for this convention. He was first shown at BotCon, so his official image would have had to come from there.

I am not feeling the love for these at all. The robot modes are fine, but the vehicle modes look thrown together and the combo mode is just......proportions are shite.

Actually his bio says he "bursts of 2000 degrees Fahrenheit blue flame 1.5 miles" so the missile colour is actually accurate.

That is likely, yes. Still, we have yet to see a Thundetron stock photo.
I want to see how good/awful they can make him look.

I'm puzzled as to how Magnus' hammer will work. And is anyone else getting a Kre-On Sentinel Prime vibe from his head?

Repaint and new weapon Hasbro?

FOC is a BIG pass for me, for the most part. Only want Blaster, Soundwave, and Starscream.
Bot Shots: PASS
Kreon: BIG PASS
MP Thundercracker and Prime: Must have
The Asia exclusive turned TRU exclusives: Hotspot, Wheelie, and G2 Megatron: Must have. The rest: PASS

Looks like I'm gonna be saving A LOT of money this go around when it comes to Hasbro.....

Would it be nice if every character got a unique mold? Of course.

But would it be economically feasible? Most likely not.

At least they've got remolded parts, not just repaints.

I find it understandable for HasTak to milk these molds for all they can get. It makes perfect economic sense.

Besides, I find that I like some remolds or recolors better than others.

And in this case, we also get TWO references to TFs fiction ("Wreckers, combine" & Emirate Xaaron).

I have absolutely no problem with repaints. Plenty of characters started out as repaints. There's plenty of characters who work good enough as repainted versions of another. I do like new heads when something wasn't originally a direct repaint, and more expansive retools can be cool too, like the Wheeljack/Tracks thing in Generations.

Sometimes we do get repaints and retools that don't make any sense. Imagine an orange and green version of the Classics Bumblebee mold being called Ultra Magnus, for example. That sort of thing can and does happen, but thankfully it's fairly rare, or at least not overwhelmingly more prevalent than those repaints that work well.

Technically we have seen one. Just not one shown on a clean white background.

He's probably curious as to how the hammer will use it's gimmick. In other words, how will the hammer unfold from the ammo box "gun" that it normally is. I'm rather curious to see if Hasbro will give us the chance to actually lock the weapons starting with Wave 3. Otherwise, Magnus' hammer will serve useless.

Aye, don't get me wrong, I've no problem with repaints as a rule. I realise that a lot of characters wouldn't exist without them or remolds. But these GDO (yeah, what does that stand for?) Generations figures are lazy attempts at pulling in more money using molds, a number of which make less sense than TFCC exclusives. It doesn't help that I have a feeling these will constitute over a quarter of the proposed Generations figures.

Exactly, if peaugh or Optibotimus manage to review him before he's released and his hammer doesn't lock, then I'll be getting the Arms Micron version.

Ok, let me put this in a semantically non-ambiguous way:

I would like to see a stock photo of the same type as the ones in this thread - i.e. robot mode and alt mode in separate shots, on white background. Mostly to remove the blurriness of the catalogue one.

There. Happy now? Image

Indeed, but perhaps it could be a generations release.

Actually, it almost does. But I seriously doubt they'll ever make it. It's too close of a color for them to do that, unless they wanna call him Zeta Magnus
