Well, I found out too late... But, living through last year's trauma, I'm not surprised at these items being sold out quickly. It would've been nice to know when these were being put up for sale, but I guess there's nothing obligating Hasbro to announce this - these were all show exclusives. The other issue is that some of these sold out at the Con, so I didn't imagine there would be plenty leftover for online sale.

I just feel sour about the going non-Con prices for these, but makes me realize that I didn't really need to get Bruticus or CJ (I already have the Takara Terrorcon). HISSwave is still a must... and the X-Force 3-pack.

Managed to preorder the Amazon Bruticus, but missed this one. Was going to try and get all the variations, but dont really want to now, knowing how expensive a venture that would be. Going to cancel my Wave 2 case also I think. Meh, money saved.

I'm glad I couldn't afford him and gave up hopes of him back at savcon.

Yes. This is one of those instances where a mild pre-order campaign would have worked out very well.

Well, I totally missed it. I seem to recall this happening last year with SDCC Matrix Prime, but they brought up more stock in the days following it first coming up on HTS. It wouldn't surprise me if the same happened with Bruticus.

They had to know that this would be one of the most desired sets they've created in a very long time so I don't see Hasbro just passing up the opportunity to make much more money by producing more product.

I'm not going for the scalper prices on ebay, I'm gonna stick it out and watch HTS for more stock to come up.

Man, it's lame that these sold out so quickly as I was really anxious to get my hands on that Rust in Peace CJ. :BANG_HEAD: Not anxious enough to pay $50+ to scalpers mind you, but still.... Ah well, I guess I'll just wait till the fall and get the Terrorcon CJ that comes out with the rest of the First Edition rereleases. Congrats to all the actual collectors who were able to get their hands on these before they sold out! :BOT:

I honestly feel bad that a lot of members/fans missed out on these exclusives.
I was lucky and got my Bruticus before they sold out. Crap that was fast!!

What really bugs me is that due to the demand and unfortunate aftermarket seller greed, a lot, if not most of these were bought by retail and ebay folks looking to flip them for twice as much.

It kind of bothers me that these folks are taking advantage of fans that just really want a toy for their collection.

it is sad, but it is just a reality.

I had the one thing I wanted in cart then *poof* sold out and nothing I could do. I don't see why the items aren't held for you till you get done checking out instead of whoever basically jacking your order right out from under you ffs. Screw HTS.

I believe it should be illegal. HTS and all other retailers are not wholesalers, thus they are not supposed to be selling product through those retail channels to other resellers who turn around and sell it for a markup. The scalpers create a false scarcity/rarity to the products by purchasing them all, leaving consumers who actually intend to purchase the goods for themselves unable to buy the products through normal retail channels for retail prices.

It is technically against the law, but since these small ebay sellers are able to get away with doing what they do without a proper business license, there's nothing to be done about it.

it is nice to see that HTS had a 1 per household limit on Bruticus though. I'm sure it didn't help, as the scalpers are certainly smart enough to make multiple accounts/addresses to ship to (PO boxes I'm guessing), but it least it makes it a bit more of a challenge.

Either way, I'm not paying $250 for a $50 set that was already marked up to $100. The scalpers can keep the **** things at that price.

To those complaining about HTS: Do you not understand the concept of these kinds of convention exclusive? They're made in small quantities. It's SUPPOSED to be hard to get one! That's what drives up demand and make them more valuable!

freakin awesome. I was literally on the site when the items came online. Ordered 1 of most items on there. probably will sell the JEM doll, My Little Pony, Star Wars Carbonite Set, Cliffjumper and the HISS tank on Ebay, and keep the rest. Hopefully after everything, I should be making some money plus the toys !!!

you do realize that HTS has a limit of 1 per household. Even if people ordered multiple, HTS will manually cancell all duplicate orders. Unless of course, the scalpers went to the trouble of ordering with multiple addresses, multiple accounts and multiple credit cards.

I was well aware of the HTS limits at both the show and HTS.com. I was speaking on the fact that the scalpers and aftermarket retailers pay folks to buy as many as they can to flip them later. They have no interest whatsoever in the toys themselves. They are just taking advantage of a money making opportunity. I didn't say it was wrong, or illegal either. I just said it sucked, because it takes advantage of those who are just fans and just want the toy for their collection.

Greed isn't illegal, it just sucks.

Am I the only one who thinks the Avengers Helicarrier looks like crap? I realize it can't be EXACTLY like the on-screen ship, but did the toy guys even SEE the movie? Two completely different things. And huge scale-fail w/ the included figures. Pass; hopefully they'll make a small-scale die-cast or something that looks like the one in the movie.

There is a 3 foot helicarrier that is already available on TRU.com and comes with a movie style Captain. It's still just a plastic plank with guns though.

I will settle for G2 Bruticus, and my eBay HISS. I guess I don't mind paying a person who went to the con some extra because they actually went and spent money to go, thus needing to pay for expenses. At least that's what I tell myself buying off eBay did. It helps me sleep at night.

I-)

Please don't be naive.

Three things to remember, looking at past years.

1: they don't care
2: they don't care
3: they don't care
