It's a crying shame to give that thing the name Predaking, but it's not like HasTak is ever going to do him justice.

As with Devastator, that'll be a task for the third-party gods who actually care about getting a character right while improving them.

We're never going to see a Masterpiece gestalt from HasTak, so I guess it's ok for them to just poo all over the name as much as they want.
The fans will know where to toss their cash at, in the end.

It's not a new series, it's a new season.

What defines "doing him justice" and "getting it right?" What the Geewunners want?

If you don't like the name Predaking matched with that, it's your choice. Predaking is probably the leader of the Predacons in this show, and I'm glad they aren't making him a Gestalt again.

Was referring to the Hasbro lines.

Funny, I didn't realize G1 Predaking had such a definitive, iconic personality that made more than a just a big, mindless, foot soldier.

Oh wait. #-o

This will kick 2013 off (as 2014 would be kicked off with either possible reissues or a hopefully good TF4 movie).

Indeed, G1 is great. I just don't think everything should be a constant repeat of it.

I would, personally, love to have the "right" kind of beastformers... that is to say...
Skullcruncher
Wierdwolf
APEFACE!!!
And many more...

I want robotic beasts. There is no reason why cybertronians can't have beast forms, they have data disk forms for ****'s sake. They could have chosen these forms based on their experiance on other worlds, and other aliens, who might have all sorts of primate or reptile-like creatures... Dragons though? Eh, a bit overdone if you ask me... but whatever, as long as the actual body of the character is all robotic and metalic.

I also think the original G1 gestalt Predaking is way too cool on its oldschool incartion, such that anything less than that is just not as cool (I don't care if its G1 or not, just whats the coolest)
I do like the idea of Predacons appearing in a robotic form, so overall, I cautiously welcome these "beast hunters", if only to add something more interesting to a somewhat dissapointing series (given its massive potential), and give us some cool beastformers.

Also, If the kibble on the beastformer is done well, and just adds more limbs to eviscerate and hold more guns... WHY COMPLAIN?!

I do like my blocky robots too though... maybe I should post when I'm more focused and sober.

The name "Predaking" to me anyway, is more than a foot soldier. It's a towering pile of massive destruction and fear.

This thing is like a dinobot. With lots of thing hanging off it. Poorly.

It's got a split dragon head for shoulder pads and giant wings. That suggests destruction and fear to me.

This Predaking isn't any Gestalt, but with the new promo, we know he's much bigger than Megatron. What does that tell you?

Because it's recycled footage of the first 5 episodes. Smokescreen wasn't part of the team then.

still wasn't a good sign but since there is going to be a beast hunter toy of him i think he will make it as there wouldn't be a point in doing one if he wasn't going to be in the next season -though i have a feeling that the bots are going to lose this seasons final prize to the cons :CON:

Uh, because he hasn't gotten one yet, and Hasbro is making up for lost time. They could pull a Cliff with Smokey.

3 toys doesn't make Smokescreen safe. Cliff has 6, and he's been dead for 2 seasons.

We've known the 'cons were going to take an ultimate victory for a while. There's no nail-biting suspense here.

Seriously, they should try repeating beast wars, so us fans of that have something to complain about.

I feel so left out...
