That's it, no more buying Prime for me here until I move over in June. We miraculously have the entire Prime Deluxe range here in the Netherlands, including Kup and Rumble, but still at full price (€20 or $26)!

We do? Dear lord! Last thing I remember form the toystores was losing a bit of urine after picking up Vehicon and Skyquake.

I'd suggest checking out the Intertoys for them. And I hope you're talking about Cyberverse Skyquake.

Just came back from TJ Maxx. No Prime figures, just the leftover DOTM figures they've had for months. I'm guessing the new stuff is still working its way east.

Instead, I ended up at TRU, where I paid $30 each for Thundertron and UM. I'll keep checking TJ Maxx and Ross and if I find them there I'll return the TRU ones.

Same here. I'm going to take a few more trips leading up to Sunday, because the manager said that they get new shipments in every day, but I don't expect to get the Prime stuff for another couple of weeks.

Went to Ross and Marshalls last night and picked these two up.

Ross had voyagers but no deluxe figures. Marshalls had deluxes and Cyberverse leaders. I haven't checked the TJ Maxx in my area yet, hopefully they have a Kup.

As I said, is not new, TJmaxx, Marshalls and Ross has same price rates for transformers, and sell faster than other brands cuz price. Just good luck in your hunt.

Dude, no one said this was a new thing. That's why the title of the thread is "TJ Maxx strikes again." So you don't have to keep coming back and telling us this isn't new. We know. >:oP

Having said that, i am surprised that they are ending up at discount so soon, but then again Beast Hunters is right around the corner.

either way I WIN

And so TJ Maxx makes Transformers fans as Maxxinistas. Again.

Or for a better term, Maxxinistabots/cons. ;)

I hit TJMaxx and Marshall's today, but was unable to dig up any Prime Deluxe.

I did, however, pick up Cyberverse Skyquake, Ultra Magnus, and Megatron for six dollars each. Not quite as good a deal, but not too shabby. They also had a number of Botshots for $2.99...but I wasn't biting.

Both locations had pretty much emptied out their usual toy aisles...so I might try to swing by again tomorrow...

Checked my local TJ Maxx today. Nothing new, just some DotM figures and a Generations Kup (which I already have) and a Generations Sky Shadow. Headed next door to Ross, and found the TF Prime figures: Rumble, Vehicon, Sergeant Kup, Bumblebee, Knockout ($5.99 deluxes); Starscream, Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus ($11.99 powerizer?). They also had botshots (Prime with trailer: $4.99; 3 packs: $5.99; singles: $2.99). Picked up Bumblebee, Vehicon, Ultra Magnus and the Bot Shots of Prime w/trailer and Jazz.

How does something like this happen so soon? Did they somehow fall through retail cracks and so much? :VEHI:

transformers aren't selling due to price increases and low quality.

Well...according to http://www.tjmaxx.com/how-we-do-it/...

we're smart shoppers, just like you.
Our buyers are on the hunt over 40 weeks a year for the
hottest items of the season. So when a designer
overproduces and department stores overbuy, we swoop
in, negotiate the lowest possible price, and
pass the savings on.

That may be true, but I don't think that's necessarily why we're seeing these figures at discount stores. I'm pretty sure Transformers were being sold at discount stores even in the mid-80s, when they were the hottest thing in the toy stores.

The last couple years, it seems like it's the later waves that are ending up at discount stores. My hypothesis is that it's because the retailers are overstocking the first wave, ending up with a gazillion Bumblebees clogging the shelves, and then they don't bother ordering the later waves, so they end up at the discount stores. In other words, I don't think it's price or quality, I think it poor inventory management combined with Hasbro overpacking BB in every case.

I'm seriously jealous of all you guys finding Voyagers for only $12. Went to TRU today and forked over $28 for Ultra Magnus :BANG_HEAD:

Nope. I can't remember if I already said that in this thread.
