I think these complaints are a side effect of just how hard this figure sucks, especially in comparison to the already-released (yet seemingly always hard-to-find) Voyager figure. That is: we already have a (very) good figure; this is a lousy one; and there's not even (likely to be) a tie-in to the fiction.

Thus, the exercise of designing and releasing this figure just seems rather pointless. Especially when the line is missing a Voyager Hardshell and a US release of the (increasingly prominent in the fiction) Jet Vehicon.

I for one like that figure and if I had the money I'd buy it regardless of if I had the voyager or if Dreadwing comes back or stays dead. Sure the feet are weird and the undercarriage junk is terrible but the bot mode looks cool and I want it.

If you do get the money reasonably soon, do yourself a favor and prioritize getting the RID Voyager figure. He can still be had for $30 on Amazon.

I'm guessing many of these Beast Hunters figures will be flooding the likes of Marshall's, TJ Maxx, and Ross soon enough.

I was thinking that Grimwing looks really simliar to Tigerhawk/Razorclaw, and might get a repaint eventually. Don't know if he is popular enough for a main toy line. He might only show up at Botcon.

Can't decide if this is a win or not...good color scheme, some interesting detail, but I'm still having trouble reconciling this new direction for the Prime line.

I guess they should have stopped making OP figures after he died, right?

>:oP

The fiction is there to support the toys, not the other way around.

http://tfwiki.net/wiki/File:BHtoy_Deluxe_Dreadwing.jpg It seems the shoulder pads transform into harrier-esque intakes rather than just clogging up the wings, not that that is much of an improvement to the figure...

Hasbro is desperate if they are majking a BH Dreadwing. Yes, I know that they need to make toys, but, why dont they do it like the movie toylines and make up a whole bunch of new characters?

Forgetting about the whole slew of Predacons we're getting, are we? ;)

They're probably just making another toy of Dreadwing in particular because he's popular, and toys of popular characters likely sell well.

Site sponsor Kapow! Toys has provided us with an in-hand pictorial review of Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Deluxe Dreadwing. Check out the review below:

Dreadwing gets shrunk! but will it blend ? well probably yeah but we want to know if its any good. The answer to this question is surprisingly yes, don't get me wrong I find it weird he suddenly has chicken feet and the wings of a lovely butterfly but for a deluxe it kinda works. He is a nice chunky solid toy with some good articulation including a variety of ball joints but no waist swivel. He has 2 weapons in the form of an axe and a hand held rocket launcher with 2 missiles both of which combine with one another into a larger staff type weapon which is kinda pointless but fun. Jet mode again is nice and chunky, the rocket launcher mounts on the cockpit roof and the axe can mount on the underside which does look a little naff with the chicken feet also visible from the back. Transformation wise its simple, think Generations Thunderwing and your there, this aside I really have enjoyed this toy a lot more than some of the previous Beast Hunters releases.

Overall we score Dreadwing a solid 7.5/10

It seems strange to me that people are still looking at the talons, the hooked beak, and the feathered wings and saying it doesn't make sense.

It fits the aesthetic theme of the retooled Decepticons that's supposed to make them loosely fit with the Predacons - Dreadwing & Soundwave are birds of prey (exploiting Soundwave's articulated beak, even), Knockout is an alligator, and Shockwave is a one-eyed feline monstrosity. Starscream is the one that drops the ball, not looking like any animal in particular in spite of his BW Airrazor homage paint job.

Yeah, the beasted out Autobots and Decepticons are the perfect compliment to Thundertron's crew. I'll buy them.

with a change of head and the right paint job this could easily be converted into a beast machines silverbolt!

More like his Cybertron Brimstone color scheme. ;)

I like it. Especially the wings. The only bits that irk me are the colour scheme (which isn't a problem as it can be painted over) and the feet sticking out the back of his jet mode.
