I liked the Energon line! And new reveals in older lines is still newsworthy for those interested.

i too liked the energon line, way better than this TFP crap we have now. The show not so much but again was better than prime. But as far as news worthy goes if its new then its news, doesnt matter if its about the newest series or an old one.

As for the head i can see why they were going to go with it but then changed it. The helmet style fits with the alt mode but the one they used fits the character better. Surprised they didnt use it on a repaint, maybe a G2 homage.

How was the Energon cartoon better than any Transformers cartoon, no, better than any cartoon at all? It had no story. 51 episodes of almost nothing important happening, starring almost no memorable characters at all.

Well, I wouldn't say it had no story. It was just not as grand as other series, such as Beast Wars, Animated, and Prime.

Well, okay, maybe about... six things happened within its 51 episodes, but still.

The majority of if was just fighting, fighting, fighting, that mostly just led to more fighting and barely went anywhere. And none of it was really good fighting since the choreography of each fight was mostly "Person A shoots at Person B" or "Person B punches Person A". Taking two toys and just hitting them together again and again felt more exciting than the fights of that show.

The only really memorable fight was the giant Optimus Supreme vs. Unicron fight, but the episode kept cutting away from it to focus on something else whenever the fight would even hint at getting interesting.

Clearly, this person who things Energon was better than Transformers Prime is... confused? Animation, plot, character development, voice acting, pacing are all hands-down undeniably better in Prime.

Given, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just have to chime in to say...

"Before you hit the buzzer, is that your FINAL answer?"

Kicker is memorable. It isn't a very good memory, but still.

Was mostly thinking of the Autobots and Decepticons, but yeah Kicker was memorable, which is another knock against it since the spiteful human ally was more memorable than the stars.

Yeah, out of all the humans... I still have to say I think G1 Spike has been the best of them all. Least annoying, least reckless child-like, least cliché (compared with nerd and anime girl, etc.) , least have-to-add-super-powers-or-robot-endoskeleton-to-up-the-awesomeness (Kicker, Sari)...

Don't get me started on the comics and all the I-am-a-small-child-mind-controlling-a-giant-robot stories.

In G1, the human characters were less important to the plot line (ala Kicker sensing Energon)... but they were so much more generally likable. They developed the characters instead of using them as a gimmick.

You liked them hanging around... and you wanted to be them. Not because they had super powers, but because they got to spend time with the Transformers.

I dunno about you guys, but gothsaurus has his priorities straight. Especially the "want to be them not for their abilities, but because they got to spend time with the Transformers". Right. On. The. Nail.

I dunno, Jack Darby from Prime is pretty likable. As is Agent Fowler.

And (I know people are gonna start rolling their eyes when I say this, but nyaah!) the Burns family are some of the most competent and likable humans we've had in years, with each having their own unique personality and making for some great interactions between each other and Autobots. Like, the moments between Chief Burns and Chase discussing their differing views on morality and protocol when trapped in a mine in that one episode were exceptionally well done.

Okay, I'll give you pointers for those two. Probably throw Raf in there while we're at it (unless borderline computer ingenuity disqualifies him  )

Yeah, I'll give you that. The human characters in Rescue Bots are more likable and charming than we've seen in the main cartoon for years. Nice call. I still need to get around to watching the rest of those...

some time...

when my girlfriend....

is out..

the...

state.

That's so funny. I completely didn't even think of the movies even existing. Those are SOOOOO much centered on the human characters, you don't get hardly ANY robot character development. I found it really hard to feel anything when Autobots were getting shot execution style or torn in two.

I think the chemistry and balance has been off kilter since those first couple of seasons of G1, though the animated movie — with its own problems — did seem like a good human/robot balance. Mind you, from what I've seen of Prime, it's been pretty decent. I rolled my eyes a lot less than in Energon or Cybertron.

Getting the thread back on track, I actually agree with you. This head more closely matches the aesthetics of the figure than the G1 homage that ended up being used. I never cared for Prowl being a race car anyway. I would have preferred a new character.

Corvette? Okay. Mustang? Sure. Nissan Z? Absolutely! Formula 1/Indy car? Here, let me go over this speed bump and I can get away. ;)

Now, as someone else suggested, Blurr might make sense... :-?

That's definitely an interesting design. I can see why they dropped it for Prowl, but I could definitely have seen it being used for a Jazz retool of the same mould though.

Aww, I always really liked Armada Blurr's head, and it definitely looks awesome on this mold. I'd definintely be inclined to display that mold on it's own (rather than being Roadblock Grapple's pants) if it were [Armada] Blurr.
