Chapter 1 of the Transformers Cloud: "Guardians of Time" six-part story is up on both sites -
http://takaratomymall.jp/special/tfcloud/story01.html
http://www.e-hobby.co.jp/html/page24.html

The chapter title is " 決 起 ", of which I'm uncertain what the proper English translation is supposed to be (I don't trust Google Translate's shoddiness), but I'm looking into it.

Also, there is an illustration showing the Optimus and Megatron toy designs placed among other characters in their WFC/FOC bodies, all likely based on the Takara Generations toys.

Though, standing among them is one notable oddity: A redeco of Generations Springer as IDW Rodimus! ALL MY WANT!

Hold up... that Rodimus looks AWESOME. That is a great use of the IDW Springer mold, and I hope this picture means that such a remold/redeco is in the pipeline.

Early this morning, Seibertron user Sabrblade pointed us in the direction of Takara-Tomy's exclusive story Guardians of Time's first chapter. Along with the first chapter, Sabrblade also presented us artwork accompanying the chapter, based on the Generations: Cloud Optimus Prime and Megatron among their subordinates. Also to note, the Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime seen behind Optimus appears to use the recent Generations: Thrilling 30 Voyager Springer mold, possibly hinting at its use in the near future!

The story itself, untranslated, can be read here!

The cover's pretty epic looking. :) I'm curious to see if we'll eventually get a Rodimus repaint of the Springer mold for the Cloud series? It fits him somehow.

I've been desperately craving a new hot rod mold, only because the current one we have in the CHUG lines is sooo bad articulation and transformation wise compared to new characters. With his popularity from MTMtE he deserves a new toy.

Is that a Springer-into-Rodimus repaint in the background?

Meh, a bigger, CHUGGUR Rod would just make me kick myself even harder for missing out on the 2nd Takara run of MP Rodimus Prime. Using Thrill-Springer for him would just make me worry that parts of the mold will be worn out before Sandstorm can be repainted into the Skyhammer that retool is destined for.

Of course, that's still way less than the number of repaints needed of FOC Starscream, so I'm probably overreacting, but all those Micromaster homage repaints in Universe 2.0 that barely made sense leave me wondering how any character that a mold suits could be obscure enough to be passed over in favor of giving a core character another sort-of-appropriate repaint.

If they do that Rodimus I will happily replace my Classics version and Protector armour. What a great use of the Springer mould! :D

I can see where the Rodimus repaint comes from, it looks much like his MTMTE self and I do think it's a neat idea in practice...
but the picture here uses a barely altered Springer noggin, and unless they went to the trouble of retooling the head just enough to do what this picture does I don't think it would look quite right. Plus he'd turn into an armored car and a helicopter, so that's really off putting
I'm happy with Protector anyway, thanks. >:oP

NEXT!

They can always nip the helicopter bits off. Based on Sandstorm, Hasbro/Takara-Tomy aren't afraid of altering a mold to a high degree if they really want to achieve something different.

For one I think the Sandstorm retool was planned from the very beginning, so I don't really count that as Has/Tak going out of their way for anything. Even if that's not the case I just don't have the faith to believe they would make such minor tweaks like that to make it that much closer, especially for something that will more than likely be an exclusive. Lastly, I can ignore the copter mode as it's not THAT big a deal... the armored roadster on the other hand is still a turn off. I already have both Springer and Sandstorm anyway, and I have no desire to get yet another Rodimus for my shelf who would end up standing next to Springer anyway... and that wouldn't be awkward at all would it?

Yep, I like it. Like I said, just a matter of nipping off any helicopter bits.

Though the spoilers need to be flipped down to achieve maximum accuracy...

If there isn't going to be a new deluxe Rodimus depicting his MTMTE look... and that's a springer mold redeco. Me want... me want. It'll probably look great but Rodimus isn't voyager scale! That is the only thing that urks me. :HEADHURTS:

That actually doesn't look half bad :D I have a feeling he's going to keep the helicopter mode though, if he actually is on the table.

And 決起? It means "Rising to Action". You may thank WWWJDIC for that. :)

I've been wanting to do this since getting Springer, but too many toys to buy means no going double on him. I agree doing away with any helicopter bits. If I ever had of done this I may have modded the head a little as well, so he's more his own toy and not Springer in different colours since I'd want the 2 displayed together. Wonder if this comic means this could actually happen?

Well, United Stepper had Artfire appear in his comic, with the correct Mini-Con no less ("happy accident" as they call it).

Just ran the story through the translator, and it didn't make an ounce of sense. Good comedy though, but someone should actually translate it.
