Thanks to the Autobase Aichi Facebook page we have a great gallery of Hasbro's Transformers Generations Mini-Con Assault Team. The team is comprised of Windshear, Heavytread, and Runway. The team also has the ability to combine in a larger robot called Centuritron. Like all the current Transformers Generations Deluxe figures these are based on characters in IDW Publishing Transformers comics, these guys in particular are based on the Ammonites, another race of transforming robots that are encountered by the crew of the Lost Light in Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye.

Gotta admit, this seems to not only be the best mini-con combiner, but the best three piece combiner to date. I mean look at these guys!
The individual robot modes look great, the alt-modes are pretty good, and the combined form looks really good. Much better than the much larger Go combiners, and at least s good as the RID train guys.

If these where larger, they would be perfect and would have joints in their combined mode.

Might have to pick these guys up just for their neatness.

Edit:

Oh god I just realized something! They seem to homage three of the Movie Decepticons!
The jet looks a lot like an f22, the Helicopter looks like a female G 1ified Blackout (all the copter kibble in bot-mode is in similar places in the bot-mode like Movie Blackout) and the tank guy's alt-mode is the same as Movie Brawl's including the claws.
Pretty neat.

Probably the Generations figure(s) I'm looking forward to the most. Hope we see more small-scale combiners.

Gonna have to come up with better names for them, though, especially the individual bots. The ones they have are so generic. And it's a shame the bio is little more than a generic "bestest Transformer EVER", yawn.

So...
Heavytread forms feet and legs,
Runway forms arms and body,
and Windshear forms the head.
Enter Centuritron, Protector of the Universe!

In all seriousness though, these guys still look pretty cool! :D

Oh, yeah. I gotta have these Mini-Cons. Oh, God, I'm turning into Armada Megatron... :-s Extremely impressed with them and their combined mode Centuritron, but I'm not liking the apparent lack of stability around the heels...

Quick, someone give Runway a leather jacket and sunglasses, Heavytread a top hat to go along with his monocle, and Windshear something X-Men or X Files ish.

Well, to be fair, they have Minicon sigils on them, not Ammonite, so its,ore accurate to say they wete recycled into the comics as Ammonites than to say tbey are Ammonites, bit regardless, they're canon

Yhose Minicons are HUGE for Minicons but i like 'em

What? New mini-cons that scale well with the new Legends figures, AND with Classics?

I'm in!

These Mini-Cons are great! Most I've been excited for a release in a while. Really nice looking mini bots and a pretty nice looking combiner. Looks like a ton of fun!

I was pretty much over the whole Mini-Con thing. Have myself a big ol' tub full of them, was content if they never made another set ever again. HOWEVER... these guys kick so much butt that there is no way I'm passing them by. I think the fact that they are actually Ammonites helps sell me on it a bit more but the whole design of them, individually and combined, is just pure win.
I'm really digging the fact that things like Target-Masters and Micro-Masters/Ammonites/Mini-cons are being brought into the Generations line and being done RIGHT! So long as Hasbro keeps it slow and steady and follows IDW's lead (since those folks know what fans want and can stay faithful to what has come before) then things should look pretty good for the Generations line for some time.

Jaeger-iffic!

I was worried that these guys would be disappointing once I got to see them up close, but they actually look better than I expected! These will be great "desk toys".

I dont think I'm gonna keep this guy... it comes with skywarp, starscream and scoop in bbts package

I mean dont get me wrong: they look great and all, but its the choice of color... This green...
then again, being military vehiculesI think this color was the only logical choice.
the head of the female minicon looks like crasher, the female renegade from''the other Dead franchise)

Pretty neat.

Honestly I think you're looking for a homage where there is none. I mean there's a difference between paying homage to something and taking a couple of design cues. Surely there's only so much you can do when you're trying to turn a robot into a jet, a tank, or a helicopter. While I would say Movie Brawl is probably the best comparison to Heavytread, I also see the recent Legends Megatron in there. I would also have to say Runway reminds me more of PRIME Dreadwing/Skyquake, while Windsheer of Energon/Universe/RoTF Vortex/Swindle.

Regardless, I love the look of these guys. I don't see a single mode that I could accuse of not being perfect given the sizes they're working with. I would honestly not have a problem if Hasbro wanted to turn this into a 'thing'. The more the merrier.
