I think every Classics fan has a wealthy pool of figures to choose from in regards to the '86 Movie Autobots and Decepticons lineup. Did you army build Junkions? Sharticons? Sweeps? Let's see your Springer, Arcee, Magnus, Galvy etc!

I'll step up the plate Blurrz

Aside from original Sludge,Swoop,Snarl and Slag which I don't own. Same with Thrust and Ramjet, I technically own all the movie characters including a 45% off the price Encore 20A Devastar :BANG_HEAD: (Tomy suckered us all with the Encore 20) (my Unicron is the Armada one unfortunately) including those killed on and off screen.

For those collecting the G1 bricks..........you must get the TFC Starscream for G1 blocky accuracy.

I don't own IT's Quintessons only Delicate Warrior not Arcee (distributed by I-gear).

I wish I could find the official Spike and Daniel PVC mini figures that were franchised by Takara back then.

P.S. G1 Wreck-gar is one under appreciated mold, which I enhanced by adding his moustache and goatie.

For the modern versions, I do have Unicron's flunkies (henkei and United) missed Scrapheap, ignored Broadcast and Soundwave deluxe though scored the Rumble/Frenzy tanks. Also have Tomy Springer, Blitzwing, Astrotrain, Octane, and the Seekers. UM + FP armor.

Are you referring to Classics figures or original G1 figures.

For Classics, I have most of the cast. Only the Dinobots are missing since there are no Classics figure besides Grimlock. Unicron is the Armada version but Hasbro says they're all the same guy anyway so..

I don't have the ancillary characters like Spike or Daniel or the Lithonians. I have the main Quintesson but none of the other ones, and only two Junkions and one Sharkticon (the Botcon version).

I really need to get some pictures together.

I've been working, in my spare time for the past few days, on something for this thread. Given my general lack of fine skill, the final product should be a bit crude, but hopefully it will be good. I still need to do some work on it, in particular I need to photograph and then add to the final image the Decepticons (Galvatron, Cyclonus, and Scourge). But after what I've done thus far, I thought I'd put out a little black and white preview:

Finished product, hopefully in a few days. :)

I guess I was being overly cautious when I said, "hopefully in a few days." How about the very next day, instead?

And so, I present to you the poster from the 1986 Movie, with the characters replaced by their Classics toys!

Image

First I photographed the five main Autobots on the poster:

In retrospect, I wish I'd had Kup and Blurr a bit closer to the camera, but I suppose it still works.

Then everybody else was photographed separately:

Then I had to paint out the backgrounds on the photographs, replacing them with a transparency.

Wheelie and Rodimus were just pasted directly over their illustrated images on the original poster. Everyone else, I had to (crudely) paint out their original images, and paste the photographs roughly over where they'd have been. I tried to keep Ultra Magnus's laser blast from the original, and used that as a guide in placing the photograph of the five Autobots, so that Ultra Magnus's gun lined up with the beam. Everyone else had new lasers (crudely) drawn in. (Springer got an extra one, as his toy has a double barreled gun!) I smoothed out the background as much as my meager talent would allow (to get rid of some of the larger artifacts left over from my removal of the original character art), and retyped in the words over Unicron (I made them a bit larger then on the original, but I'm fine with it). I threw a lens flair on Ultra Magnus's laser beam and applied a light canvas effect over the whole image, both done to help cover up some rough edges in the image. Finally, I stuck a watermark of my avatar in the corner, and called it a day! The result was the image I presented above.

Hope you like it!

It's old picture but it's what I had. I've since (regretfully) gotten rid of Rodimus.
