What if we still had merged threads, only with more specific topics of discussion? Like an "Official Age of Extinction Retailer Exclusives Thread", or something of that nature.

They would have to be really specific. Its annoying to be in a discussion about aoe dinobots and then all of a sudden here comes a guy saying how much he likes hero mashers or constructobots.

Things like Hero Mashers are usually in separate threads from the mainline toys.

I don't think I need to quote everyone.
I guess I'm not the only one growing tired of the Super Ultra Mega threads.
Maybe it makes things easier on the other end but it's not so fun on this end.

Takara-Tomy updated it's Age Of Extinction toy line website with Black Knight Dinobots and Movie Advanced EX Wheeljack, which are exclusive to the Japanese market. Scorn and Slug are due to be released sometime this November

Slug will be released by Joshin Kids Land Yodobashi Camera.

Scorn will be released through the following stores:
Kojima toy department
Edion
Best Denki
Yamada Denki
Bic Camera

Theyalso updated their listings to include the upcoming Movie Advanced EX Wheeljack. This redeco of Wheeljack (or Que, as he was known in the film) was supposed to see release in late 2011, early 2012 in the "Movie Trilogy Line" but the subline was abruptly canceled after the initial release, Optimus Prime. Now, thanks to the Movie Advanced line, we finally have a chance to get those figures, even if it means importing them. Featuring an all white deco with a G1 style headsculpt, this one is one of the more anticipated figures. figure, a white version of Dark of the Moon Que with the Generation 1 inspired Wheeljack is an Aeon exclusive, scheduled to be released sometime in August.

The Takara-Tomy update train keeps chugging along! Takara Tomy has updated their website with information about the Toys R Us Japan exclusive Movie Advanced EX Optimus Prime "Rusty" Version. This figure is the Evasion Mode Optimus Prime Voyager Class mold in film accurate deco, unlike the G1 theme the current Hasbro figure is sporting. It also features a remolded head with the faceplate intact instead of the full faced version we have now.

Included are comparison photos of the original Evasion Mode and the upcoming Rusty version.

Another Takara Tomy update? You bet! They've updated their Transformers website with a listing for Movie Advanced EX Rollbar. Rollbar is a redeco of Generations Skids, made to look like Shane's rally car from Age Of Extinction. The Chevy that Shane drove turned out to be a plain old car and not a Transformer in the film, but thanks to Hasbro and Takara, we're still getting a toy out of it anyway!

Rollbar will be available for purchase in Japan in November of this year, exclusive to Toys "R" Us. Here in the states, we'll receive Rollbar as part of a figure multipack based off of the Cemetary Wind farm attack sequence in Age Of Extinction. That set will feature "Rusty" Optimus as well. This looks good in robot mode better than hasbro if it been compare in robot mode

Wait, shouldn't all this Takara toy news be going into the Movie Advanced Series thread instead of this Hasbro AOE toy thread?

Yes, please. Also, it's a matter of cleanliness. Do you have any idea how many duplicate threads and posts we have to deal with? How much space/data they eat up on the server? It's not the worst thing ever, of course, but it's certainly not efficient and makes it harder on the staff.

We merge threads so everything is as tidy as possible. It's not to make things harder for the users, quite the opposite, in fact. We are always open to suggestions, so please post them and we'll do our best to figure out a system that works for everyone.

On a separate note, I would love to see "thread merging" abolished. Its so freaking annoying to see conversations about 10 different topics mixed together just because they are loosly related to Michael Bay.

Been saying that for the past several years. I can understand it for conventiony things, where there's a lot of news coming out of one thing, (and even then, it's extremely annoying) but when it's news topics days and weeks apart, no.

The thing that kills it for me isn't the forums neccesarily, it's the way the news page processes. 9 times out of 10, I'm commenting on a news article with the "click here to join the discussion", I'm not already in the forums themselves. So when the news article itself has three seperate news posts for other things, such as AOE FE Knight Prime's post in the article for Sludge, it's more than a little jarring...

I wish there was a happy medium but there isnt. I was reading the "rollbar" article and most of the comments are about thread merging, not rollbar. I dont know anything about servers, all I know is its annoying and discourages me from posting on front paged news articles. I like to follow up on my comments and cant do so when theres 3 pages of comments every few hours that dont pertain to the topic I posted on.

Those "Black Knight" Dinobots look awesome. I love 'em!

If I didn't already have the original Skids version, I would probably be into this. I dig the alt-mode's paint job.

Regarding Rusty Prime and Rollbar, I wonder which idea came first: Hasbro's Breakout Battle set which includes an extra Crankcase, or TakaraTomy's single release.

I'm also pondering repurposing possibilities for Rollbar, being a Generations mold and all.

Hey guys. I hear that there is a Transformers: Age Of Extinction dinobot 5-pack coming. I saw the word limited in one of the posts. Does this mean that Hasbro is going to be making a limited number of sets and they will be hard to find?

Something like that is in the plans, yes, but further details like deco and availability are still pending.

Anyone know what the 5-pack platinum dinobots look like yet? I already got 3 out of the 6 but I'm willing to buy the molds again if the paint apps are good enough.

The Dinobot 5 pack is really odd to me. I was guessing it be similar to the one at SDCC but this pack is missing Snarl for some reason. If it was the G1 colours or a simple reissue of the SDCC pack, then why would it not contain Snarl? Also, though none of us may care for it, this means there is no chance Slash will have a redeco.

You are right about Slash. Besides the toy, he has no comic/cartoon/movie char anywhere. Just who is this crappy huge velociraptor mold?

According to the silhouette, it will have Grimlock, Slug, Scorn, SwoopStrafe and Slog, all the Dinos that appeared in the movie plus Slog. I don't think it will be G1-themed set.

So then this would be an independent set from what was hinted at from Hasbro:

G1 Dinobots set with Strafe, Grimlock, Slug, and Snarl (where's Sludge/Slog? Hasbro said they are working on it for a separate release)

Is there a problem with snarl redeco? why is it hard for him to be included in either sets?
