The cockpit actually does open, it was shown in a picture review on another site. I guess this reviewer just didn't notice or forgot to show it.

I'm really looking forward to this guy. I don't care for the red chrome at all, so I hope a 3rd Party will take care of that because I don't like permanently modifying my figures. This figure would be perfect if they could take care of those hollow arms and the silly chrome.

Even though he does truly scale better with Generations figures, I will be displaying him with MPs because I don't want to put away my Classics Jetfire. I might get creative and figure out some sort of stand solution to make him appear taller. Looking forward to adding some air power to the Autobot shelf. Then we just need a whole lot more Decepticons, they're getting even more outnumbered!

I plan on displaying Classics Jetfire with my Metroplex and new Legends-sized figures. :-$

That's an awesome idea! I don't have enough Legends for that to be viable for me, but I bet it would look really cool.

Well that is some good news since HTS still has NOT put up SDCC exclusives yet. I canceled my preorder for (2) from TRU and ordered (2) from Amazon. The entire order was $10.00 cheaper thanks to no tax and free Prime shipping. Thanks for being on the lookout Mooncake. :BOT:

Same here just killed my TRU pre-order. No free 2 day shipping and the extra tax. Saved around $10 as well by going with Amazon and my Prime Membership, only way it can be better is with a TRU 20% coupon and in store purchase.

Deals like this were far sweeter back when Amazon did not charge sales tax.

The free shipping does make it sting less though.

Agreed, thank the States for that one. While they held a legit point as a bargain shopper I dont care lol. Amazon had it nailed down for a while. Still small tax and free shipping trumps most of the other competitors.

So what's all the fuss over $2 difference? I am all for saving money, but $2 isnt worth the hassle of canceling then reordering... i got free shipping on TRU (Ordered my son a Planes backpack w/FREE lunch box  )

Dont get me wrong, LOVE Amazon, but I will start dancing when someone has him for $35 :KREMZEEK:

That was the only thing I ordered at the time so for me it was a $10 savings.

These were sold out on TRU and HTS when I went to order, so I'm happy with this.

And I found some Lego stuff for my kid's birthday at a great discount while I was there ... go Amazon!!!

Yes, i preordered mine as soon as it popped up in my wish list.
Hell of a deal with Prime and no tax; used a few reward dollars to bring it down farther.

I totally understand getting the backpack for your kiddo and sticking with TRU, but for how much this figure is I want mine to arrive undamaged. Amazon has a much much better track record in the undamaged department for Transformers than TRU. I, knock on wood, have always received superior packing and shipping through Amazon. :BOT:

I went ahead and preordered from Amazon. I don't want to have to hunt all over town for it later just to save like $5. If it turns out to be one of those really-hard-to-find figures, I'd kick myself for not preordering when I had the chance.

Just picked up mine from a specialty shop. Nope, the local TRU isn't carrying him unlike Roadbuster.

Yup, the chrome chipping has started even before my opening him (the clear plastic rubber bands that kept his BFG in place was wrapped way too tight)namely on the BFG........a pest but minute issue.

Overall? What the other online reviewers are all spot on! You have got to see him to appreciate the mold/design. If the original henkei (great but limited by the stupid choice of scale and over sized helmet)gave us the 1st taste of a modern JF, this one leaves it biting the dust!

It is not perfect but MAN!!!!!!!! You must own one!

Btw, he ain't made in China anymore but in Vietnam like the recent Japanese Go! exclusives.

Another thing, his character bio seems to reflect his ROTF persona........so wrong!

Well, I have yet to read the IDW TF comics, but IIRC it's more closely based on his IDW incarnation than his cartoon/Marvel self. Also, the bios are usually total bunk anyway. Especially if you're in the UK- Scorn got the description "Has the jaws of a dino" completely neglecting to mention his love of walks along the beach, candlelit dinners and classic oriental poetry!

Jetfire ancient? Since G1, if you follow the the story, he existed at the same time as Starscream.

Hide? Well he got stuck in the Arctic circle in the show and DW. In IDW he was already functional during the Thunderwing saga so I wonder where he hid?

Really? Who does those bios today? Is there no one like a Bob Budiansky to do it right?

All that chrome.
It truly does NOT work at all.

I wonder if I could repaint them without having the whole paint chipping away in the future?

You either sand off all the chrome "K" or wait for the chromeless Tomy version. Painting over it will only lead to more chipping.

Is that a thing? Officially announced and everything? Because having to pay 60$ + taxes in store, might as well throw in another 20 to have a better looking version.
