I think the Primes are a class above other Transformers in skill and power. Megatron only killed Optimus by sneaking up on him and stabbing in the back then blasting him. Before that Optimus was kicking his aft all over the place. The Fallen, being a former Prime, would be too strong for a lesser Transformer to take on, therefore only a Prime could match him.

I admit the movie doesn't spell everything out, but if you just look at what happens in it and don't listen to what hasbro or the books and comic say it makes perfect sense.

I'm not sure about that, Prime was beating the Fallen fairly easily at the end, it wasn't even a close fight, even with Megatron helping the Fallen. So I think a higher level soldier or high ranking Autobot such as maybe Magnus or even Ironhide if he was let loose could give the Fallen a damn good fight, if not defeat him. Yeah, the story may go as only a Prime can beat the Fallen, I think they even said as much, but the events in the film prove otherwise.

Optimus was combined with Jetfire when he fought the Fallen, so he was even stronger than usual. So we'll never know how they would have matched 1 on 1.

Pretty much, this is how my brother sees it at least, generally doesn't count anything besides what's actually there. Though Megatron did good in their fights in the first movie...though what's odd about that fight, neither used their weapons often, only once against each other, the rest was all fistfights.

On a side note, Megatron has the most durable face in history...
-Survived a Blast from his own Fusion Cannon at point blank range which sent Prime flying in movie 1
-Was only half broken after
-Survived Prime

I'm sorry, but I'm confused. Tell me again how the film's going to be "terribad" without Fox?

She's one of the biggest flaws of the movies. She tried, sure, but still a flaw.

If she makes or breaks the film series for you, then you went for the wrong reasons, and it's no wonder you found no pleasure in the experience.

I normally don't use this, but it fits this time... if you went to see movies about TransFormers, only for the eye candy, then you weren't going as a fan. Not a true one, at least.

Is that really the movie's title? Does the person who came up with that speak English as a second language?

This.

If Optimus is descended from the Primes, not being an original as was the case with The Fallen, he might be a little "watered down" in regard to power when compared to them. Strong enough to potentially defeat another Prime, but still vulnerable to lesser Transformers given the right conditions, e.g. Megatron stabbing him in the back.

HOWEVER, I think the best explanation of the whole "Only a Prime can kill The Fallen but Megatron can kill Optimus HOW??" ties in with the destiny theme at the end of the movie. IIRC it was Jetfire who made that claim. But how would he know? This sounds like something that would be passed down by legend or prophecy. It doesn't mean that only a Prime can defeat a Prime, it means that only Optimus could and would defeat The Fallen. In other words, Optimus was destined to defeat him.
