"For fans who can't wait, the Blu-ray release in September will deliver an awesome ride with the movie in stunning 1080p high definition and a 7.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack that was personally overseen by our phenomenal supervising sound mixer just for the Blu-ray," said director Michael Bay. i appreciate the advance warning about the double dip, now i can wait. :)

of course just like avatar, you'll have people bitch and moan when the 2nd version hits because they bought this one anyway even though in both case, we are warned ahead of time. lol

i'm guessing this will be a barebones release or just have a few things. but they said "coming months" so i figure the deluxe version will hit in nov. or dec.

Why would it? All the "bonus and extended" footage from the other 2 movies was all useless human crap that did nothing to add to the "plot" of either movie. What makes you think this will change with DOTM? Bay and company had no interest in furthering the Transfomers mythos, stories, or movie plots. They were only a necessary evil for the action, and all the "plot" and "story" went towards Shia the Beef and the useless, American Pieesque, teen comedy love story. And all the rest of the extras are about Bay or ego stroking Bay, with very little about the Transformers. I doubt this will change with the release of DOTM on dvd.

Sorry about the loathing rant, but the last 2 movie extras on the dvd releases have left a VERY bad taste in my mouth. I am excited about DOTM on dvd. I enjoyed it, particularly the last hour, hour and a half. All the good stuff after The Beef's all important and plot advancing job hunt, and the very believable love story between him and Rosie Can't-Act.

Wich is why "Doesn't neccesarily mean" was added there, go figure. I know bay is a bit of a jocky for the human bits, but TF3 focused alot on both human AND robot interactions, so, I think TF3 COULD have the extra footage we all want, but probably wont, hence the "Now does it?"

I'll buy this version. I doubt the "loads of bonus features" will be worth waiting for.

I'm happy to hear it's coming out so soon. I was about to go and pay to see it in the Imax again with my cousin.

I preferred the original poster with Sam and Carly standing in front of him as the boxart. :( Hopefully the special edition will just kick all kinds of ass with loads of awesome behind it.

Not in Hasbro's control. Did you read the full press release? Special editions/box sets and 2-Disc sets will be released later this year, most likely at Christmas.

Walmart.com has listed a preorder for an exclusive Transformers Dark of the Moon Blu-ray. This version appears to be the Blu-ray only rather than the Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy that was mentioned in yesterday's official press release. The listing also reveals alternate cover art featuring Sentinel Prime. Priced at $29.99 with an online price of $19.96 and scheduled to release September 30th.

Movie Description
The following content was provided by the publisher.

The Autobots Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide and Sideswipe led by Optimus Prime, are back in action, taking on the evil Decepticons, who are determined to avenge their defeat in 2009's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen". In this new movie, the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) has to come to the aid of his robot friends.

Crap, the preorder listing is Blu-ray only? I guess I will wait for the more expensive one then. Although I love my blu-ray player, if I wanted to take the movie over to watch with my nephew or pop it into my dvd player in my bedroom while I'm having a lazy Sunday, I wouldn't be able to. Plus I like the Optimus cover way more then that bastard Sentinel being on the cover.

I wouldn't panic just yet. A BD/DVD/DC combo will be available that day. I'm sure Wal-Mart's exclusive art will be on it. Wal-Mart's exclusive artwork for ROTF IMAX was DVD and BD
