Yeah, west of El Camino sorta off of Vista Way. They had two I think last Friday. They'll be bunched in next to all the classic primes--clearance aisle, far end. There was also an ape Prime and some other purple tank type of thing. Sorry, I'm not too familiar w/ anything that isn't G1 based.

Erroneous, any idea how much those alternators were going for at Wal Mart? I'm weighing driving cost $$$

lol, I didn't even know that Wal-Mart had a clearance aisle.

Blah, the surfer monkey Prime I've found warming the shelves at the TRU in Oceanside, off El Camino Real. The purple tank sounds like it could be Cybertron Megatron.

Do you have any idea if they were going for retail price, or were actually clearance priced?

Oh, it was Demolisher (I just looked it up). I must've remembered the purple from the packaging. I think Mirage was going for 9.00 when I scanned it and marked 12.99--but don't hold me to that.

Ah cool. Meh, that's still reasonable, I suppose.

I will check out the Wal-Marts and Targets around the area tomorrow, and perhaps I'll even phone in to Kohl's on Marron and College and see if they have the 08 BB available.

Erroneous wrote:San Diego (Southbay) Reported the other day that it looked like ToysRUs is pushing alot of older backstock. They're apparently not the only ones. Took a trip to a Walmart earlier. The Transformers shelves were filled to the brim with figures. It was like taking a trip back in time about 9 months. They have several Alternators (Skids, Sunstreaker, Rollbar, Ricochet). About 15 to 20 20th anniversary Primes, several miscellaneous Classics delux(Rodimus, Cliffjumper, Mirage, Ramjet), numerous Jetfires and Primes, and plenty of the later Cybertron figures, including over 10 Primus figures. Plus they did have a restock of Movie voyager figures from the first two waves (all of them except Blackout). If you missed any of these figures, now might be a time to get them, I'll be getting a second Jetfire and Classics Prime myself. Still no sign of any movie delux figures though.

Which Wal Mart is this? I've been scouring North County, but nothing. I know of the Wal Mart on Claremont Mesa and I think one down in Chula (that's a helluva drive from Carlsbad).

Here's what I found as of last Friday: The WalMart by the 78 and Jefferson has some deluxe classic Mirages and maybe 6 0r 7 voyager classic primes (19.00). They're on the far west wall in the clearance isle. Not near the TF movie toys.

The WalMart off of Sycamore and 78 had a metroplex in a beat to hell box for $40. It was up on the top of a shelf far from their regular transformers. I noticed they had more movie toys than other places, like a big starscream, but didn't pay too much attention as I'm not too keen on the movie stuff. I don't know what might remain after this weekend.

This is in Chula Vista (Broadway, right off the 54 and 5), I didn't see anything indicative of any low prices, so everything is probably standard retail.

Chula Vista? Meh, in that case I might as well just order it online and pick up my order from the nearest Walmart with that Site to Store thing they have.

For those in the San Fernando Valley, Porter Ranch TRU was cleaned out today. I got there 2 mins after they opened the doors, and I ran into the TF section.

A scalper was loading in all the voyager Primes and Megs into his cart. 5 of each. I asked if I could have one of each, and he gave me them. He was a jerk about it though, with a response of... "Fine. HERE." accompanied by a glare.

What's left over as of 11:15am:

Deluxe:

Classics Mirage
Classics Cliff Jumper
Classics Hotrod (x1)
Classics Ramjet

Rest were Real Gear, TECH, and Robot Replicas of Barricade.

Hey, opengl, I stopped by the Wal-Mart on Jefferson before work, and while they didn't have any Mirages, they were inundated with Classics Optimuses and Jetfires. A bunch of Cybertron deluxes, and I also saw an Alternators Sunstreaker that someone obviously tried to hide very poorly.

And if you're looking for the 20th Anniv Primes, they had about ten of them, along with 2 Primuses. They're not visible though; they're actually on the top shelf of the aisle opposite to the Transformers aisle. I'm gonna get one myself tomorrow, but for today I just took a Jetfire for 19.00.

Other sightings:

Oceanside TRU: absolutely nothing noteworthy.

Oceanside Wal-Mart, off Marron and College: compared to the one on Jefferson, absolutely bare. Had a bunch of Voyagers though, including a Voyager Megs.

Oceanside Target, across from TRU: Titanium Optimus (the fire truck), Rodimus, and Starscream. Besides that, meh.

Thanks for that heads up! I stopped by Wal Mart after work and grabbed the Sunstreaker and one of the deluxes for fun. I really wanted an alternator (I just found out about them after comicon) and was close to driving to Chula. First new TF since the 80s for me. Some of those alternators look great. Too bad I just learned of them now and they cost mucho $$$. Heh.

I wonder where all that backstock came from--I'd been in that Wal Mart several times over the past few weeks. Thanks again!

Yeah, that Wal-Mart was part of my usual rounds too; I've only recently been frequenting it less.

I'm going to check out the Kohl's on Marron and College tomorrow again to see if they get in any 08 BB's. The way I look at it, the West Coast stores get their stock a day or two later than the ones on the East Coast/South/Midwest, so tomorrow might finally be the day I get I my hands on a 08 BB.

Nope, redneck middle-aged guy, with glasses that drove a black pick-up. He was complaining to his buddy about how some convention event had voyager Primes and Megs for 9.99, and he fell asleep when they were selling them. He continued to complain how TRU is a rip off with voyagers being 19.99. I'm thinking to myself, "Uh, that's normal price."

Probably talking about Comic-Con; that's where I got my Voyager Prime for ten bucks. The HST booth also was selling Deluxe 74 BB for five bucks.

Anyway, sightings.

Oceanside Kohl's: same as yesterday
Oceanside Wal-Mart: same as yesterday
Other Oceanside Wal-Mart: same as yesterday
Oceanside Target: All but the Titanium Starscream was gone.
Oceanside TRU: was still closed.
Encinitas Target: bare walls, but a huge shipment of Titaniums, mostly RiD Prime and Cheetor, and one Fallen.

If I get out of class early I might go scope out the Wal-Mart off Clairemont-Mesa; I've had decent luck with that store.

Burbank Target has $79.99 Ultimate BB.

There was only one, I picked it up and pushed the button. The thing started playing "Whip It" by Devo, I thought how stupid and put it back. My wife would kill me If I bought it though. Not 3 minutes later some other dude was looking at it, with a grey decepticon shirt on....he might of picked it up.

Thanks, got one, leaves 6 as of 07:30 pm, plus several Arcees and Dreadwings, 11.69 each, worth it!

Ugh, the one in Rancho SD is 30 miles away from my work in La Jolla. I don't think it's worth it to drive all the way over there.

I'll just keep diligently checking out my local Kohl's, thanks.

Saw some important things today.

Oceanside Kohl's: got a new shipment in! Small shipment though; as of 10am,

Swindle x1
Dreadwing x1
Arcee x1
Wreckage x1

There were 2 08 BBs, but I bought them. :)

Oceanside TRU: also got a new shipment in! As of 10:30am,

Movie Deluxes:
Longarm x1
Payload x1
Arcee x1
Brawl x1
Dreadwing x1

Classic Deluxes:
Cliffjumper x2
Mirage x1
Ramjet x3
Rodimus x1

Classics Voyagers:
Optimus Prime x3
Jetfire x2

Cybertron Voyagers:
Vector Prime x1
Soundwave x2

There was a Grimlock and two Mirages, actually, but I bought one of each. They also had a ton of Mini-Cons in one- and three-packs, and also two Primi (or is it Primuses?).

Something tells me that if I'd gone to TRU right at 10am, I would've seen a few 08 BB's.
