No Quickslinger and Break-Neck for Australia

PostPosted: Wed May 20, 2015 4:21 am

OzFormers resident Admin griffin has been in contact with Hasbro Australia who have informed him that Combiner Wars Quickslinger and Brake-Neck will NOT be seeing a release in Australia.

So if you're in Australia and were looking to grab them as a reward for surviving the recent spider rains, you're going to have to look to the internet for them.

griffin wrote:Just a friendly warning for those hoping to see the Generations Quickslinger and Brake-Neck come to Australia... they will NOT be.

Hasbro Australia have been kind enough to let us collectors know before they are released in America, to not hold out for an Australian release, as they are not planned for a release here.

Stay tuned to Seibertron.com, and beware spiders with parachutes!

Well, we, down here in het Netherlands, never had even the remotest hope of seeing these guys in retail. So I planned ahead and ordered 'em online.

I thought these were going to be web-exclusives anyway, just through select websites. Is the US expected to have a brick-and-mortar release of these after all?

I was under the impression that they were only being sold online and would never actually be on store shelves anywhere in the world. I dont get Hasbro at all. Anyways, I got mine from robotkingdom so yeah I paid a little more for them, but I got the free sticker sheet and most importantly I have them in hand now while others wait and scour the internet. My problem is I havent found a damn air raid yet. I was lucky enough to find one set of stunticons in walmart and snagged them. But that box came with 2 offroads. Havent seen that wave since.

That is utter BS.

I feel sorry for all the collectors of Australia for having to deal with this.

Same here. Got them from robotkingdom and struggling to find an air raid.

I don't know how often this is checked, or if this is newsworthy or anything, so I've decided to post it here; regardless, I went to the Toys R Us in Penrith, NSW today and found that they had a lot more TF's than I expected. MP's Ultra Magnus, Bumblebee, Sunstorm and Star Saber! CW Leader G1 and Armada Megatron, wave 2 (Air-Raid, + Stunticons), Generations Jetfire, AOE Takara Stinger.

Unfortunately I don't carry several hundred dollars around with me, (MP Magnus and Star Saber were $300 each (unsure about Bumblebee and Sunstorm), $30 for deluxes, $90 for leaders), so I snagged all of the Wave 2 CW figures. But wow, I think today was the first time I've been genuinely impressed with Australia's TF offerings, despite the incredibly steep prices.

Pic attached for reference, excuse the poor cropping, the original was too big:

Devastator at Rockhampton Big W. No full display yet and the current display (fitting only 3) has already sold out. Staff informed me that they are expecting more as they are having another 8 trucks deliver toys today.

Some nice restocks lately and one incredible bargain found.

First K-Mart have restocked their RID Warrior line with a new wave and have in stock Megatronus, Sideswipe, Jazz, Gold Armour Grimlock.

Big W (Yeppoon) and Target have got restocks of combiner wars legends figures Blackjack, Powerglide, Bombshell, Groove, Warpath still no Viper though

The incredible find however was at the Reject Shop (a dollar store)-
Leader Class JETFIRE!! for only $20.00 (considering how much we pay for leader in oz this is a massive bargain)

Reject shop also has some beast hunters deluxe figures but I was unable to find a price.

Just spotted the Bruticus wave minus Onslaught in the wild for the first time in TRU (Carousel)

BC Prime, Sunstreaker, Mirage, Prowl and Ironhide in Kmart (Belmont)

Also spotted Sunstreaker, Ironhide and Legends Buzzsaw, Pipes and Chop Shop, sadly no Shockwave at Kmart (Innaloo)

They had more Bruticus Limbs at TRU (Innaloo)

No Quickslinger and Breakneck for Aussies you say, Burn?

Well then I got some news for ya all.

I saw a Takara Superion Box Set in Toys R Us, it was pretty costly though. A whopping $400, threatening to empty my wallet just like Devastator did and the Superion is $100 more. :-(

Yes, Quickslinger did come in the box set. We don't know for Menasor yet but hopes are high that he will come too.

The only question is, is it worth it to pay $400 just to get Quickslinger? Of course you can easily pay online for one but...

(Also, saw CW Vortex and Masterpiece Sideswipe too)

That you paid $300 for Devastator is scary enough, but $400 just to get Quickslinger?!

I guess you gotta do what you gotta do...

I can't wait for Fortress Maximus to be released later on in the year. I only started collecting again recently and missed out on Metroplex's release, out of curiosity does anyone remember how much they were charging for him at retail?

I wouldn't think so, definitely not at Toys R Us where Devastator is still $300. I bought him for $220, shipped to my door and the very next day saw him in Big W for $200...figures... :-P

I have found Metroplex online, brand-new for $500 which includes shipping. Still mulling that one over. Hopefully with NY Toy Fair we can see some decent pics of Fort Max and I'll decide whether I really need Metroplex as well.

What the hell, you guys are wizards or something. I look in K-mart, Target and Big W either next to nothing or just rescue bot crap and stuff there. I check Toys R Us and they actually got good stuff but it seems like it's overpriced. :|

My TRU is currently trying to clear out the Insections and MP Bluestreak, Bluestreak is marked down to $50 and the Insections to $60. I bought the only Bluestreak there so far that has been there for many months.

Some day they'll realise that having exclusives is all fine and dandy, but if you want to move stock you need to lower the prices.

What's funny is they've marked down the prices on both the platinum sets they've gotten. Which is the insections and the dinobots. I wonder...

So in regards to MP Megatron ...

Griffin of Ozformers has a handy guide for each State and Territory and how the varying gun laws may affect/prohibit your importation of MP Megatron.

Premium Collectables are also conducting a survey to garner thoughts on the costs involved in them stocking MP Megatron.
