No, I believe they fall in the arachnid category as they have 8 legs.

Judging by the pincers, the visor-like optics and the color scheme, if it's not Shrapnel, then it's almost certainly based on him. I doubt he'll be named in the actual episode, but if we get a toy of him, I'd wager it'll be named Shrapnel.

I don't believe that Hasbro has that name trademarked...and in the world we live in, given that there are a lot of people who are overly sensitive about such things and that there are a lot of war vets out there, I don't believe that Hasro would even consider using the name anymore.

Agreed. Definitely getting an Insecticon vibe, especially as hordes of them will be in the new FoC game- ideal for a tie in.

So did Hasbro lose the rights to the names of ALL the Insecticons? Is that why we keep getting one guy generically named Insecticon instead of actual Insecticons? Bah, people suck. Oh well, at least this guy looks awesome!
