Toyworld's prices are always slightly above others as they don't have the buying power of the other stores, hence why they tend to get their stock weeks in advance.

That being said ... when I say "above others" I mean about $5. Any wonder I wait for the specials which no longer materialise and just import from Japan for a slightly cheaper price ...

It's always been like this. The prices are higher NOW when the AUD is at parity, or above the USD than they were when the AUD was below 0.70AUD three - five years ago.

The only thing the Government is interested in is investigating why software prices are substantially higher in Australia than the rest of the world. (X-Box, PS & PC games are around $90-$100AUD at the time of release)

And still the Australian retailers still fail to see why so many import online...

With Soundwave being my favourite Transformer, it's nice to see all the love he's finally getting, what with a Masterpiece on the way, his awesome silent portrayal in Prime (and the associated figure) and now these two Generations Voyagers... though having him and his repaint in the same case assortment does seem a tad silly, and I'm still not sure which one I want, or whether I'll find a reason to get both... but awesome!

Yeah, I'm up for one of these. A blue one, though. The deluxe never sat completely right with me.

As an Aussie Transformer Fan I get a bit dirty on the whole price thing. But I guess as the consumer I can now buy from overseas - but when you add postage you are not much better off!
And it's not just Transformers. Ride on Lawn mowers in the US and Oz... ( cause I need a new one and have been looking) In the US $1600 - in Aus the same one $5500.
Didn't the US and Aust govts sign a fair trade agreement?
My personal view here is Australia is about to have a huge financial re-adjustment. Prices for food, power, houses, fuel... just about everything is going through the roof, wages are not keeping up - its all bad. And what was up with FOC and WFC both getting PC release - but not in Australia! Thank god for Steam!
Man! - I got a little bit worked up there.

That Free Trade Agreement was made more to the betterment of the US than Australia.

Yeah, we're allowed to export a bit more in primary production to the US, but we had to import even more.

How big are these voyagers, anyway? It seems unlikely that Hasbro will be making voyager versions of FOC OP or Megatron, and it this guy is noticeably taller than deluxe WFC Megatron, he's look weird standing next to him. I'll have to stick with WFC Soundwave, if that's the case.

As for the price, that sounds about right for the prices I'm paying locally--around 150 local dollars. Sucks living outside of the US as far as TF collecting is concerned...or if you're an avid gamer. Expect to pay an extra 13 USD on top of the recommended price of 59.90 USD.
