RowdyGowdy's 1977 International Transtar "Optimus Prime" Rep

Postby JoeyGowdy » Tue Feb 03, 2009 2:04 pm

I am in the process of "transforming" my 1977 International Transtar II into a G1 Optimus Prime Replica (couldn't find anything better to do with it and didn't want to sell it), check it out:

Any interior and exterior reference photos of G1 Optimus Prime Truck Mode (from toys to screenshots) will be greatly appreciated.

This is a cool little project you have going. I myself was looking to do a bumblebee. But for a Navistar/International. Use paint code 2023 for the red..its dead on!

Seriously, that is awesome. Imagine driving down the road and you pull up to Optimus Prime at a red light. I would have to stop and take pictures. Good work!

Sadly there were no Trans Am TFs (that i know of). Otherwise I would do something similar with my car.

You know, I have both him and Windcharger and never thought of that. I guess I was thinking of a more current car model (mine is a 2000). I know they used Camaro's in the comics recently, but were there any TA's?

Well camaros and Trans ams are pretty much the same. Just a couple changes in the front and back ends. And of course the make. So i guess to answer the question...nope not any modern TA's in the TF world :-(

Just do what I did with my old Trans-Am, Slap a Con logo right on the back window. You don't need a cannon name, make one up.

I miss that car :-(
