eBEFOREi Reviews: AM34 JET VEHICON GENERAL

Postby ebeforei » Fri Mar 01, 2013 6:56 am

So, I preordered this guy sight unseen... then... the first pics surfaced and boy did he look bland... Knowing pics do not always translate to an in-hand impression, I kept my order and here he is! Does the in hand impression change? Find out in my detailed review

Seibertron.com member ebeforei has shared a video review of Takara Tomy's recently released Transformers Prime Arms Micron AM-34 Jet Vehicon General. The figure is a redeco of their previously released Jet Vehicon trooper modeled after the elite Jet Vehicons seen in the Transformers Prime season 2 finale. Check out his review embedded below.

"Love those stickers!" - Glad someone does.

Rank a 6? Pretty low-ranked General.

Very cool figure. Not perfect, but still cool.
If you've read Exodus, wanna read the War For Cybertron comic? PM me.

This is Sabrblade we're talking about. His ability to store trivial information about TV shows is downright superhuman.

Haha - yeah I was being sarcastic on both counts. I despise the stickers with a passion!! Every AM figure I say to myself will be my last - but I just keep going there :) As for the rank, I suppose if I were to make any sense of it in a story line, I would say that he is a General within Starscream's seeker/jet Vehicon army, and hence, lower on the overall totem pole. I know... It's a stretch lol! Totally agree that is turned out pretty well despite some deco flaws. Looks great on the shelf!

Glad I cancelled my pre-order. I wasn't crazy about the micron ports all over it and really dislike the sticker thing, but thought maybe it would still look pretty decent. Its far too bland for my taste and that center chest looks pretty bad compared to the clear overlay piece and insignia on the PRID Vehicons. So wish we had gotten a Hasbro Jet Vehicon release :(

That's a great point - you'd think that a toy that could be seen as an army builder would be one of the first releases by Hasbro. I thought the prid Vehicon sold well - at least in my area.... Oh well... As is, it is not bad. I just wish Takara would drop the prime AM stickers and just go back to paint!! They do it so well. Ah well, the AM line will most likely be done soon enough... I wonder if the Takara Beast Hunters line will be stickers?

If only the stores hadn't bought so many Wave 1 shipments.

Honestly, there was not a single time I walked into any of the Big 4 retail stores that didn't have either a Bumblebee, a Cliffjumper, or a Wheeljack during the time that the PRID toys were sold.

Oh man, I had totally forgotten about that. It seemed as if for months there was nothing but an endless seas of 'Bee's and Cliffjumpers.
