It does look great packaged. Really no reason to ever remove him from it.
Nice rare find. And nice rare collection pic of all those later hard to impossible to get deluxes. Thanks for sharing.

Eh, looks neat. Loads better than the original figure, but if I saw this in-stores, I'd probably pass on it.

Can't say I would've bought him, but it would've been pretty amusing to have a G1, Movieverse, and Prime Wheeljack all released within a year or so of each other.

Did Leadfoot have a second deco planned for this Movie Trilogy line? Or am I getting confused? As you say Dotm Leadfoot is unreleased??? He was released, just not in North America.

Leadfoot was part of a 2 pack from a Target Exclusive with Topspin that was cancelled. It was part of the DOTM line. I am only mentioning it because it is another cancelled / unreleased figure I own that is part of the movie line.
The only place where Leadfoot was released was in Japan where he featured none of the advertisements that Nascars feature or paint apps that were on the Target Exclusive version Hasbro had planned.

Leadfoot was indeed released in Japan, but with the markings like the Target logo removed. We went unreleased in the US, he was supposed to come in a Target-exclusive 2-pack with an unaltered Topspin.

Just did a search for pics etc, never knew this 2pk was on the cards, never mind finished production samples in packaging lol boy I love this hobby
I know about the Takara deluxe as I picked him up back when he was released. Got the Reprolabels sets for all 3 deluxes as Leadfoot really needed his missing Target logos etc.

I tend to be a prototype / unreleased collector in several hobbies. Transformers , GI Joe and Video Games.
My goal is to have every significant unreleased figure from the last 8 years.
Here are some pics of the Unreleased Leadfoot in packaging

I really wanted this back then, the mold seemed pretty cool, plus this deco and the head just made it look pretty cool.
But this is not a prototype, it's simply a packaging sample of an unreleased figure.

I collect Transformer prototypes/unreleased as well. I'd love something like this for my collection too.

I'm always skeptical of these types of unreleased figures. I can't help but hope that we'll have a warehouse cleaning and we'll be able to get our hands on them, similar to those Target Energon repaint Movie exclusives a few years back.

I highly doubt this figure is going to pop up again. This is a one time deal. If it were to be leaked it would of happened before now.

Also wanted to address something while I was at it. I cannot defend myself on another unmentioned site due to having issues with moderators over giving me credit on prior Prototypes / Unreleased figures. I have continued to share this info at no gain to me but as information to share with the community as a whole. This is now the 3rd Confirmed Figure that I myself have sourced and acquired and shared with this Hobby. If you want me to continue to do so I would suggest a little respect when it has been proven again that I am legit and have come with the goods time and time again.
If you wish to remain immature and bandwagon with previous hobbies who have questioned my legitimacy that is your choice. Also you should base your assumptions on facts. I have Delivered those and will continue to deliver those as long as I am part of this hobby!

Man, I LOVE that Wheeljack. I woulda bought it without a moments hesitation. One more example of how Hasbro F'd us on the DOTM line.
One can dream that they'll vindicate themselves and release this in the later waves of AOE toys.
