That would be amazing! I got the soundtrack on cassette as a kid, picked it up again on CD as a Scotti Bros. release a few years later, picked up the Volcano CD re-release, and then picked up the 20th anniversary edition. What this basically means is I am a sucker for any release of this they want to give us :D I hope we get more info and a release date soon.

Kinda wish this also contained the lyrical songs from the movie as well, placed in between the appropriate tracks here, but still love that this actually (and finally) happened. 8)

Just picked this up - can't wait to enjoy the whole score, especially since I missed out the CD's from the BotCons of ages past!

That would actually be pretty cool. Just ran a few scenes through my head and now I'm thinking that picking up this and making my own compilation CD with the other tracks inserted into their proper places ("Dare" right after track 4, "Hunger" after track 18 etc...) would really kick serious butt.

Brilliant idea you have there Sabrblade. :D

Can someone do a comparison with the Botcon version(s). Are there any different tracks? Has it been remastered or compressed, etc.? Thanks!

It sounds great once you've done it. I used the BotCon '97 CD years ago for just such a thing. Even inserted "Dare" twice so it would recreate the movie faithfully.

Same here... combined the two — soundtrack and score — into one movie length playlist.

Did the same for the leftover bonus material as well (non movie score tracks, Botcon songs, even a couple of passable tracks from Stan and NRG.) May have to do a little digging in the Kick Axe (aka Spectre General) catalog for song that could fit as TF:TM b-sides.

Also been trying to assemble a playlist in order of all the G1 music tracks that have cropped up in the past. Tough trying to do it from memory. If anyone has any leads of more of that stuff, shoot me a PM.

Some years back I bought a TF on ebay and the seller included a cd with the complete soundtrack/score on it. It is one of my most listened to movie soundtracks (besides Rocky Horror, Little Shop of Horrors and The Pirate Movie)..

Based on the track listing posted, I see a few differences from the BotCon releases. One, they renamed most of the tracks. (Even the three BotCon versions did that a little bit, but it's much more extensive here.) Two, there are fewer tracks, so at least some of the earlier tracks were combined. Three, based on the total track lengths, there appears to be about 1:26 missing relative to the earlier releases. Hard to know more than that until we have the actual disc in hand. I'll still buy it, though I suspect it will be inferior somehow, due to the merged tracks if nothing else.

I find this whole thing rather confusing. A couple of years ago, I found a CD at a Hastings Entertainment (I say the whole thing as I cannot assume everyone knows about them) that had not only the songs of the movie, but many of the instrumentals from the movie. In fact, it had a forward from DiCola and even mentioned that four of the tracks were previously not released with the original album during the time of the movie's original release. The Intrada website has SOME samples and a few are immediately recognizable. I believe what I have was a disc which was released around the time of the movie's anniversary DVD re-release as the cover art is essentially the same.

Citizen Q, what you have is the 20th anniversary release of the original soundtrack (primarily vocal songs), not the score (background music/instrumentals). The original 1986 album did contain three compositions from the score, and the 20th anniversary disc added some more snippets, but neither contained the full score being discussed here.
EDIT: If it seems like I'm talking to myself, the post to which I was replying seems to have disappeared while I was replying to it. :-?

Finally got my copy ordered. I have listened to downloaded copies of the Botcon release and can't wait to get my hands on this physical copy. Really curious to how the new mastering is and what the sound quality is like.
